While the birth of her child should have…read morebeen a positive and empowering experience, it was deeply overshadowed by the conduct of Dr. Siegel from Oceanside OB, who attended the delivery at Shore Medical Center. From the outset--and throughout her prenatal care--Dr. Siegel was rude, dismissive, and condescending. On multiple occasions, my daughter left her prenatal appointments visibly upset and would call me crying due to his inappropriate remarks and dismissive attitude toward her questions, concerns, and preferences. Her hope was that he would not be the delivering provider. This pattern of behavior continued into her labor and delivery. My daughter went into labor spontaneously, yet the doctor's first interaction with her during labor was to enter the room with an unprofessional attitude and state that she would "never be able to do this naturally." He showed little regard for her wishes or birth plan, particularly her desire for an unmedicated, natural labor--an experience she had successfully achieved with her first child. The only reason my daughter chose Oceanside OB and Shore Medical Center was due to proximity to her new home, as it was closer than the birthing center where she delivered her first child. At one point during labor, my daughter expressed that being there felt "like being in prison," which was heartbreaking to hear. As a registered nurse with nearly 20 years of experience--much of it in labor and delivery--I was profoundly disturbed by Dr. Siegel's behavior. What further compounded this negative experience was the conduct of the assigned nurse, Meaghan, who was also rude and unprofessional. She failed to provide compassionate care and made no effort to advocate for my daughter during labor. This experience fell far short of the standard of care that any patient, particularly a laboring mother, deserves. I am grateful that I was there along with my daughter's significant other, who supported her every step of the way, leading to her goal of a beautiful natural labor and delivery.

I went for my annual exam and had what I thought was some kind of infection. The doc prescribed…read moremedication and also ordered lab tests. The tests came back negative, which I found out about through my Quest portal, not through the doc's office, and the office never called me to follow up on what the infection might be. I let it go. After 2 weeks I was still experiencing problems so I went back, had another sample taken, and was sent home with medication. Once again I got notified by Quest that my results were negative, and once again, the doc's office never called me to further investigate. When I called the office, they said I'd have to come in for a third time. This is very poor practice in my opinion, and I will not go back. I want a doctor who's more responsive.

She even had the balls ( yeah I went there)to ask me if I knew I was calling a gynecologist office! NEVER did she ask what my name was to look me up in the system. I told her where the office was located, that my daughter also went there. EXACTLY WHY I stopped going! NOT the type of care you'd expect from a doctors office! The Dr.'s office DID NOT call the correct telephone number for my insurance. So the number she did…read morecall said "we don't have anyone by that name in our system". She proceeded to charge me over $200. cash/check for my office visit! I was so outraged and dumbfounded. I neglected to ask for a receipt (she never offered me one). I made a follow up appt to go over results of pap and blood work. I was charged another $150.! Never have I paid for a follow up!!! This all happened in August. I have had many, many, many conversations w/the individual wanting to know why she wouldn't re submit my claim since she called the wrong number. My services are 100% covered! I also have to this day NEVER received a receipt . Gave her my address (don't live in NJ any longer) at least 4 times. And at the end of all this, I had uterine cancer and had to have a total hysterectomy. This person is in the wrong field. You should have compassion and want to help people if you are in the health field. I gave it 1 star because I had to in order to post review...otherwise I would have given it ZERO stars!
