From the outset--and throughout her prenatal care--Dr. Siegel was rude, dismissive, and condescending. On multiple occasions, my daughter left her prenatal appointments visibly upset and would call me crying due to his inappropriate remarks and dismissive attitude toward her questions, concerns, and preferences. Her hope was that he would not be the delivering provider. This pattern of behavior continued into her labor and delivery. My daughter went into labor spontaneously, yet the doctor's first interaction with her during labor was to enter the room with an unprofessional attitude and state that she would "never be able to do this naturally." He showed little regard for her wishes or birth plan, particularly her desire for an unmedicated, natural labor--an experience she had successfully achieved with her first child. The only reason my daughter chose Oceanside OB and Shore Medical Center was due to proximity to her new home, as it was closer than the birthing center where she delivered her first child. At one point during labor, my daughter expressed that being there felt "like being in prison," which was heartbreaking to hear. As a registered nurse with nearly 20 years of experience--much of it in labor and delivery--I was profoundly disturbed by Dr. Siegel's behavior. What further compounded this negative experience was the conduct of the assigned nurse, Meaghan, who was also rude and unprofessional. She failed to provide compassionate care and made no effort to advocate for my daughter during labor. This experience fell far short of the standard of care that any patient, particularly a laboring mother, deserves. I am grateful that I was there along with my daughter's significant other, who supported her every step of the way, leading to her goal of a beautiful natural labor and delivery.

Practicing for over 20 years in NJ, Dr. Chao is a University of Penn doctor board certified as an OB/GYN. She is consistently honest, caring, open, and approachable. She knows her audience, taking the time to get to know you and will listen to your concerns, offer options, discuss your care and answer your questions patiently. While I haven't had any major problems, she has dealt with my yearly examinations with consistently meticulous service, and as a primary care physician, has helped out with prescriptions I have needed and dealt with infections, problems with protein in my urine and a scary "i might be pregnant" episode in which I had a momentary lapse of reason, swallowing too many BCP at once, patiently reminding me that's a bad idea and why, and having me in for a real pregnancy test so that i could be "really really" sure i wasn't going to have triplets. I will admit to one down side: she's incredibly busy so her schedules are often tight. Wait....two: she's incredibly hard to get on the phone unless it's an emergency. Pinelands OB/GYN has a "soup nazi" front desk staff and nursing staff with the special nack for keeping all non-emergent questions in que. But the up side of this is that when you do leave a message requesting a call back, it's usually her if you have medical questions, and they can refill your prescriptions within 24 hours. I give her 5 stars for integrity, professionalism and knowing her stuff about more than just her major field of study/residency.

I had been seeing Dr. Petitt and then Dr. Magid. I generally saw them in Galloway. They were excellent doctors all of those years!! Recently as medicine has shifted, we don't get to see doctors anymore. We see nurse practitioners. I'm OK with that as long as they give the same care and attention to tests and test results as the doctors once did. In my recent visit, I had a couple issues going on which required lab work and then ultrasound. After each test was done, which was probably a few weeks apart, I got no response and no explanation of my results. I called the office and they offered me a telehealth visit. I believe that once tests are done, the patient should be contacted. Patients are not the medically educated ones. If these practices cannot take the time to explain results to their patients, just a quick phone call or even an email, then we are left wondering. Maybe other OB/GYN practices do not do this. But this one does. I had to call for my first results. I never bothered calling for my second results. I have found a doctor elsewhere, recommended by friends.

Marge was just as great at my most recent visit. After my first gyno moved his office to an impossible-for-me-to-visit location, I was terrified I'd never find someone I trusted that much and who I thought was the embodiment of what a good doctor ought to be. Enter Dr. Mitchell-WIlliams. She has been my "woman concerns" doctor for quite a few years now and she's absolutely the best. I'd recommend her to anyone. Not only does she exude this sense of incomparable compassion, she remembers so much about the goings on in her patients' lives and always, ALWAYS makes me feel like she really cares. I felt disrespected every time. The admin at the front desk has an attitude. The doctor says he can only do one concern for each visit. Whoever heard of that? There are no patients around.
