I had a CT scan scheduled with BASS Imaging for over a week. When I called, I spoke with a representative named Tanya, and the experience was extremely upsetting. She was impatient, dismissive, and spoke to me with very little patience. Several times while I was trying to explain my situation, she muted me while I was still talking. I have never experienced anything like that before. It made me feel ignored, disrespected, and honestly humiliated. What made the situation even worse was the confusion regarding my insurance. Tanya told me my insurance had not approved the CT scan and that my only options were to cancel my appointment or pay about $1,200 out of pocket. I contacted my insurance company, and they explained that they do work with BASS Imaging. The issue was that they had repeatedly asked BASS for the exact amount needed to approve the scan, but they were unable to get it. When I called BASS again later, another representative gave me completely different information. At that point, I no longer knew who was telling me the truth. I wasn't asking for anything special. I was simply trying to understand the situation and find a solution so I could get an important medical test done. Instead, I felt like I was treated as if I was a burden and that they just wanted to get me off the phone. I truly hope BASS Imaging takes this feedback seriously. Medical situations are stressful enough, and patients deserve to be treated with respect, patience, and compassion. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the experience I had. Update: Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify one important point. During my call, I asked to speak with a manager because I felt the conversation was going nowhere. Tanya told me there was no manager available and that she was the highest-ranking person there. My concern was never just the insurance issue. It was the way I was treated. If Tanya is indeed the highest-ranking person available to speak with patients, that is even more concerning because someone in that position should set the standard for professionalism, communication, and compassion. It has now been almost a week since this happened, and despite your response here, no manager has contacted me to discuss my experience. You mentioned that I should contact the imaging center and ask to speak with a manager. I already tried to do exactly that during my original phone call, but I was told there was no manager available. I truly hope you review the recorded phone calls. They will clearly show how the conversation was handled. My goal is not to get anyone in trouble. I simply don't want another patient to go through the same experience I had.

They have gone out of their way to make the process smooth for me, making me feel as comfortable as possible. Their work is top-notch and have provided my doctors with exactly what they are looking for. Just a quick note... Don't forget to ask for a copy of your imaging on CD before you leave. I had previously made an appointment at a different imaging center and quickly cancelled due to my fear of feeling claustrophobic. I researched open MRI machines and found Medical Insights Diagnostics (Inview Imaging). I scheduled my appointment for a few weeks out and had it today. My appointment was at 10am and I showed up a few minutes prior. I filled out three quick forms and was taken into a changing room where I was able to store my phone, keys, wallet, etc. I was taken into the MRI room and was immediately put at ease with how roomy the open MRI is. I did not have to change into a gown for my scan and I even got to keep my shoes on. I laid down on the table and was given a cushion to go under my legs and two smaller cushions to go next to my head. I was also given ear plugs. I inquired about headphones to listen to music, but because of the scan I was having I was not able to listen to music. Since I was having a brain scan I had to wear a coil over my head, which was comparable to a football helmet. I was handed a "panic ball" that I could squeeze if I needed to be pulled out of the machine and they sent me inside. My scan lasted 20 minutes, but felt much faster. I was able to remain calm the entire time and even opened my eyes a few times. I cannot describe the relief I felt upon finishing my scan and exiting the machine. I grabbed my things, paid, and within 5 minutes I had the CD of the scan. If you have anxiety or claustrophobia I highly recommend coming here for your MRI. The open MRI is spacious and the MRI techs made me feel comfortable. I will be coming back here for any future MRIs.

When I booked the appointment I was told on the phone that my husband couldn't be in the room with me since the ultrasound room was "too small". When I came for my appointment, I saw the room is pretty big and even has chairs. I was disappointed my husband wasn't able to be with me for our first ultrasound for our first baby. On top of that, the technician wasn't very nice and immediately told me "I'm not telling you anything and you won't be getting any ultrasound pictures". She wouldn't let me even view the screen throughout the ultrasound. She hardly spoke to me the entire hour I was in there. It was such a disheartening experience not even getting to see my own baby. After my abdominal ultrasound, she didn't leave the room for me to undress. I felt completely violated and uncomfortable. She didn't even turn around when I had to wipe myself after the vaginal ultrasound. It was disgusting of her. How unprofessional. I will NEVER come back to this place.

Morgan, RN BSN put my IV in my hand, I didn't even know it went in! She could tell I had anxiety about the general anesthesia, this was my first time. She calmed me down, and made me so comfortable. The anesthesiologist, Eric was clear and friendly, told him about the nausea concern, I was out like within a minute and woke up clear headed and perfectly fine. At one point, I was (thiiiiis close) to asking her to pleeeeeeaaaase shut the heck up but I was saved by the bell when my name was called. Behind the door in the receiving/prep room it looks and sounds like a Detroit assembly line. Nurses/techs are quickly moving hither, thither and yon at blinding speed, loudly speaking to patients and each another and lowering gurneys, with patients onboard for the ride, with audible "thunks". (They even return sedated patients back into the prep room after their procedure right there in front of God and everybody! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes.) Yes, the prep room has privacy curtains but they're not fully closed so neither your privacy nor dignity are their concern. *Truly, there is nothing even remotely comforting or calming whatsoever about being in the prep room, where efficiency at all costs presumably reigns supreme.* To whit, I saw the physician that would perform my procedure greet a patient, then see them taken to the surgical suite, perform the procedure, return and greet another patient from whom he was removing cancerous polyps in his colon (I know this because as I mentioned before, everyone can hear everything in the prep room), perform the procedure and return to the prep room for me--all within the span of 25-30 minutes! Like I said, efficiency reigns supreme! In the surgical suite I was briefly acknowledged by the doctor performing my endoscopy and no one else. The anesthesiologist walked over, checked my IV line and I asked him if he was using propofol to which he literally grunted in the affirmative, then walked away while a surgical tech unceremoniously placed an oral bite block in my mouth (no explanation, just ruthless efficiency). The anesthesiologist returned, juiced me up with a fresh dose of "Milk of Amnesia" and down I went. I woke up in the prep room after obviously being wheeled back under sedation in front of the other patients-in-waiting, my "privacy" curtain hurriedly "closed" and I was told to get dressed. (For all intents and purposes she might as well have told me to hurry up and clear out.) The physician arrived at my bedside (gurneyside?) and provided me with the paperwork and photos of my procedure, asked if I had any questions, to which I had none because I was still a bit foggy, and promptly beat feet for the next patient. Efficiency at all costs. Seriously, it was a dystopian wonder to behold. I would not have been surprised in the slightest if the shady doctor from the Simpsons walked in and said, "Hiiii, everybody!" Yes, it's like that. One bright note: the nurse who ran my IV, Stephanie, did a superior job! Quick, virtually painless (really just felt like a tiny pinprick on the top of the skin), no bruising and only the smallest dot on my hand afterwards. Give her a raise--she's fantastic!

They did say a lot of people could come and join as they have large rooms for family's to be in to share this exciting experience. The tech was super sweet and made sure to provide a lot of photos for me to take home. I also purchased a stuffed animal (a dog) and had the baby's heart beat stuffed inside. I love it! I have also purchased a gift certificate for my friend to go and experience it.
