I almost never leave negative reviews, but this time I felt I had to. No one looking for medical care should ever be treated the way I was. I had a CT scan scheduled with BASS Imaging for over a week. When I called, I spoke with a representative named Tanya, and the experience was extremely upsetting. She was impatient, dismissive, and spoke to me with very little patience. Several times while I was trying to explain my situation, she muted me while I was still talking. I have never experienced anything like that before. It made me feel ignored, disrespected, and honestly humiliated. What made the situation even worse was the confusion regarding my insurance. Tanya told me my insurance had not approved the CT scan and that my only options were to cancel my appointment or pay about $1,200 out of pocket. I contacted my insurance company, and they explained that they do work with BASS Imaging. The issue was that they had repeatedly asked BASS for the exact amount needed to approve the scan, but they were unable to get it. When I called BASS again later, another representative gave me completely different information. At that point, I no longer knew who was telling me the truth. I wasn't asking for anything special. I was simply trying to understand the situation and find a solution so I could get an important medical test done. Instead, I felt like I was treated as if I was a burden and that they just wanted to get me off the phone. I truly hope BASS Imaging takes this feedback seriously. Medical situations are stressful enough, and patients deserve to be treated with respect, patience, and compassion. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the experience I had. Update: Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify one important point. During my call, I asked to speak with a manager because I felt the conversation was going nowhere. Tanya told me there was no manager available and that she was the highest-ranking person there. My concern was never just the insurance issue. It was the way I was treated. If Tanya is indeed the highest-ranking person available to speak with patients, that is even more concerning because someone in that position should set the standard for professionalism, communication, and compassion. It has now been almost a week since this happened, and despite your response here, no manager has contacted me to discuss my experience. You mentioned that I should contact the imaging center and ask to speak with a manager. I already tried to do exactly that during my original phone call, but I was told there was no manager available. I truly hope you review the recorded phone calls. They will clearly show how the conversation was handled. My goal is not to get anyone in trouble. I simply don't want another patient to go through the same experience I had. read more

Some of the rudest most unhelpful staff I have ever experienced. First, they call me the day before I'm scheduled for imaging to tell me my insurance has denied the request, making me scramble to understand why and reschedule - which then makes me need to reschedule with my doctor who requested imaging - pushing all of my care and treatment out by months. Second I finally do get it scheduled and they are incredibly rude and reprimand me for not arriving at a certain time - 30 mins early - when I was only told to arrive 15 mins early over the phone - in an incredibly harsh and rude tone like I had killed their cat or something. I've been coming here for MRIs for the past two years, and both visits involved problems with the office staff and billing department. Each time, I was asked to prepay about $300 even though my insurance covered the full cost, and it took months to receive a refund. For my most recent breast MRI, I requested a female technician when I scheduled the appointment, but the technician made me feel guilty for asking because she had to stay late. I can't speak to the imaging services as I never had my appointment. Despite explaining that my secondary insurance would pick up my co-pay ( without a prior authorization for the secondary) and having the billing staff at my orthopedist's confirm this information and despite this information being readily available online...I was first told I must have a prior authorization from my secondary. I was then told this morning that they will not bill my secondary insurance ( "because they don't do that." ) Then I was told I would need to pay the co-pay myself ( over $500.00) and then Bass would give me my money back after they billed my secondary and got paid. I have had the same insurances for almost 18 years-and have never experienced this level of unprofessional conduct when attempting to have an MRI or similar service. I received at least three different reasons/stories as to why both my insurances couldn't be used and originally told-"they were just concerned I'd get stuck with a bill," which culminated in them telling me to pay the amount they were worried I'd " get stuck with," up front. I've had such a terrible experience with this facility. My MRI appointment was scheduled for Saturday Nov 22 at 2:15 pm. They instructed me to wait at door B because the foot is closed on the weekends. I arrived at 1:45 pm. Waited until 2:15. Finally the lady comes to the door at 2:30 and opened to let me know that I am late and need to reschedule. She rescheduled me for the next day and I arrived 15 minutes earlier. She opened the door and turns her back to start walking back toward her desk. Not even a hello!! Obviously she hates her job and doesn't belong to the healthcare industry. I've been impressed with the overall performance at BASS, from the doctors, staff, and technicians. My only complaint is with their archaic software technology and lack of user interface (not integrated with My Chart) that other institutions have adopted. BASS IMAGING was my latest visit for an MRI of my left knee. My wait was only a few minutes, the technician seemed very thorough (as always) and the Notes were posted within 48 hours as promised. I arrived ahead of the appointment time with my 96 year old dad who needed an X-ray. The check -in was fast and the girls at the desk were very kind and professional. When the intake paperwork was done we waited just a couple minutes before being called in. I was allowed to assist Dad up to the point of shooting the images. The tech was friendly and efficient! My experience was traumatizing, unprofessional, sexually inappropriate and unsuccessful. The two male's, Jason W. and Avi, administering my IV, went through both veins in both arms and couldn't start a line. During the process, I asked for a woman in the room (breast MRI) and the two men, Jason and Avi told me "NO". They also laughed at me and said that they "Missed 10 out of 16 times, on a typical day.", referring to "starting a basic IV line". They laughed at me while I was in a very vulnerable state, as they were supposed to be checking for breast cancer. I was lying on my back in a very compromised position during this painful and humiliating procedure. Absolutely, the worst medical experience of my life. Their supervisor, Tonya Bowens, did nothing to acknowledge or remedy the situation. Ms. Bowens will not return calls or provide her superior's contact information. Go to John Muir if you are a female. This is unacceptable and inappropriate and I am not the only one that has had a terrible experience with these men and Bass Imaging. Canceling a patients diagnostic ultrasound on August 7 due to "technical difficulties" and inability to reschedule is totally unprofessional. Ok since it's diagnostic it's important, but now suddenly there are "technical difficulties" there's no mammograms or ultrasounds? And I presumably suddenly would be able to get an appointment somewhere else before then?Waiting to find out if you have breast cancer is stressful and this just adds to it. read more

I underwent two CT scans within a two-month period, and the results were inconsistent. My doctor is going to order a third CT scan for further assurance. However, since this test is not covered by my insurance, I am concerned about bearing the cost again without a clear explanation for the discrepancies in the prior results. I requested a review by management to understand why I should pay for multiple tests and why there is inconsistency in the results, but my request was not granted. read more

These folks are great! Easy to get an appt. Seldom a wait. The staff is always friendly. I've had lots of imagining done there and they are always great. The MRI Machine gets the big prize. I'm scared of those things normally. But this one is open in the back somehow with a video and a mirror so you can see that you aren't just shoved into a tube with no escape. (See? I've been here twice now for some imaging my fabulous new PCP ordered since I started seeing her in May. First time was to get pelvic/transvaginal and thyroid ultrasounds. I was able to get in the same week I called, which hasn't always been the case when I've needed imaging done. Today I was able to get a chest X-ray as a walk in right when they first opened. The techs and scheduling staff are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Alyssa was my ultrasound tech and Brittany was my X-ray tech. Both Alyssa and Brittany explained everything they were doing at each step of the tests. Finally, the convenience can't be beat as I work down the hall! I need a follow up ultrasound in late August/early September so I will be back soon! read more
