This comic store is great! Sean is really easy going, and it's really easy to order comics through him. He texts you qhen they come in and as long as you maintain contact with him, he will hold your books for you. I had some surgery and was not able to go in and grab my books for months. But I just kept contact with Sean, and whenever a family member could make it by to grab my books, I sent them over. I definitely recommend Invincible Comics. read more

First heard of this store when they had their opening and they had the artist Ryan Ottley from the series Invincible. Invincible has been favorite series by far the past couple years. I came by to get signatures from Ottley and ended up buying a page from him and a commission. Great experience and awesome opening for the store. Many people were dressed up in cosplay and they had a radio station out there as well. Store is clean and it is easy to navigate around. Owner was helpful on the few times I have been there. Will stop by when I have time and I'm in the area. read more

My first time here, and I loved it. I needed a new comic store that was closer to me. This store is very welcoming! They were able to order the comics for me that weren't in stock. And they were also able to have me on a list to where I'll receive text notifications when my comic will arrive and are release. Very nice read more

The staff is knowledgeable about all their comics. Sean, the owner, is an awesome guy! He establishes a good relationship with all his regular customers and knows them by name! I had avoided coming to this place for the longest time since I thought their COVID rules were ridiculous. But a year later I thought I'd give this place another try since there was a comic I needed that the other shops didn't carry. Called first and the guy was very nice and courteous. So I finally went. The store was fun, the owner was cool and also had a nice selection of $1 comics. So I went to buy my comics and had a short pleasant chat with the owner and left. I did notice however that when I was paying for my new comics, he charged me extra for bags and boards without informing me. Out of politeness I didn't say anything and didn't mind too much. But this is the first comic shop that I've ever been to in my life that charge for what usually is a courtesy. Other shops either ask if you want bags and boards or just include them for free. Like I said, I didn't mind too much but it did leave me with a not so great impression. Overall I had a good experience and am glad I finally went. read more

Let me first start off by saying that I've never stepped foot in a comic store before, so I had no idea what to expect. I called the shop this morning, checking to make sure they were open, and spoke to a man named Sean. I have 4 comic books, given to me by a former neighbor, and I wanted to get a little info on them. Sean's first response was, "Are you wanting to sell these, or have me tell you what they're worth?" I told him that I've never had comic books before, and I have no idea if these are worth 5 cents or 5 dollars. He (extremely rudely) told me that his time is very valuable and he didn't want to even look at them unless I wanted to sell them. Long story short...I decided to go in, just so I could find out what I could sell them for. He was just as rude in person as he was on the phone. It's pretty sad when you think you're really special...and you're definitely NOT!! So I went over to Modesto Comics on McHenry and spoke to a really sweet, knowledgeable girl named Sabrina. I got sooo much info on my 4 books. Sean didn't offer me one piece of information on these books. NADA It would've been nice if he would've showed some customer service and told me even "something" about what these were. read more

Its hard for me to write this but I gotta put my thoughts down. The plus side to this shop is that the owner is a decent guy, love his can do attitude. I also love the feel of the shop inside, very welcoming. My problem with the shop is that it under orders, and that they instantly toss a 10$ price tag on "variant" comics when I can put a order on the same comics, at any other shop for retail price. Im also disappointed that theres always an excuse when they're out, then I go to another shop and the stock is great. Theres room for improvement, and I hope it comes soon. read more

They have full concerns and control due to covid. Sanitizer at entrance plus face mask all time your there. Staff follow all Covid precautions too. Really gentle and friendly people. Definitely will come back. As comic reader but not a expert staff makes time to answer questions and helps you to use your money in something you probably will like. No just buy or get whatever. read more

Really awesome place! I take my little brother all the time and the guy there is super friendly and answers any questions my little brother has. Place it cool not a huge selection of back issues and the ones in the cabinets have no bags or boards. The one comic i did buy had bag and board but got charged an extra 25cents for it. Thought that was kinda strange figured they'd throw that in. read more

I will start by saying that Invincible Comics has some of the best customer service that I have experienced from a comic shop, if not any store, that I have been to. I was a regular of Bonanza Comics until recently, when the family that owns it decided to finally retire and close shop. Sean was very helpful in setting me up at his shop and goes above and beyond to help me find the things that I need, or want. I, originally, was going to give only four stars based on the fact that they do not have a large selection of older comics, but the customer service and knowledge I have experienced from Sean and his wife, in the short time I have been going there, has earned the five stars alone. The selection of trades and current run issues is fantastic. If there is ever anything that he doesn't have in stock they seem very willing to try their best to get it for you, if you just ask. read more

Great place to browse any buy comics. Staff is super friendly and the store is super clean and well organized. I brought my kids in to share the love of comics I had when I was their age. They have appropriate comics for all ages. My daughter bought Supergirl and Scooby Doo comics. My boy bought Spider Man and Groot. Me, I like the violent stuff so Punisher and Deadpool it is. My son and I went to Stockton-Con in the summer and were informed by the owner of Invincible Comics that he did not have any mystery boxes. My son loves them. The owner told us to come to his store in Modesto and he would "hook us up." We went to the store today and he told my son he did not have any mystery boxes. My son was devastated. Store seemed to have nothing but current books. No real back issue stock to be seen. Even when glancing at the current stuff, the non Marvel / DC selection seemed limited at best. Only interesting things I saw were some graded sketch covers at the counter. The store overall really lacks the character and charm you'd expect from a comic book shop. This felt empty and cold. I don't plan on returning unless the other shops in town close up. read more

I bought daredevil 39 from sean and when i got home the center pages were falling out which was very dissappointing, sean does not disclose or write the condition of comics; he expected me to know that the pages were falling off by the price which i find predatory, he knew pages were detached because i asked for a refund and he said issue 39 of vol 1 daredevil for 10 bucks without pages falling out would be a steal but on ebay comic can be found for 10 bucks with center pages in tacked! 10 bucks is no big deal but its the principal! And i found the whole situation shady on sean's part! Best of luck to you sean if this is how your gonna continue doing business especially when it comes to collectibles like comics! Thats a no no!! Invincible is the best comic store in town. The business is still fairly new so the owner is in the process of building up back issues. They tend to have lots of interesting signings, merchandise, and events. Can't beat the customer service. Very welcoming environment. read more
