I can't believe this place has been in business for 10 years and I'm just discovering it now. The pictures before mine seem to be when they were located across the street so I will put up some updated pictures. Josh and his son Andrew are very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are fair. Compared to Amazon and Mercari, they are sometimes up or sometimes well below, but it's worth it to support small businesses and not have to wait for shipping. They have tons of antiques and hard to find games as well as game systems. Who knows, you may find the hidden gem you've been looking for. I spend money here every week hoping to find some thing I didn't realize I wanted/needed or just to see what's new.

My review is about their retro video game selection. This place has a such a great selection of NES games. Quality over Quantity. Its not the biggest selection of retro games, but what they have are some great hidden gems and console defining games that I've been looking for a long time. The owner was a real nice guy and could tell he cared about his store and customer service. This place is a hidden gem of Stockton, glad I drove down from Sac to see it. I'll definitely be back.

I LOVE this place!! Been meaning to check this place out after seeing a few ads on Craigslist, but im hardly on this side of town, im so happy i finally went!! Im the kind of collector (cough cough hoarder) that loves old toys, vintage, things that remind me of my youth and good ol'days :) I found that and so much more!! So many items made me smile. Its a small shop, but crammed with so many unique items, everytime i turned around or moved a package, i found another toy i loved :) Theyre also super friendly, and knowledgeable. According to the young man that assisted us, its run by him and his father, and they also own Buckeye Appliances, also on Fremont. Check them out!! :)

Found this awesome predator hound at JNA.. Great price...

Great little tucked away shop that has an eclectic collection of retro toys, comics, records and just random geek culture memorabilia. Despite what some of the other reviews say, the guys here are really cool and down to earth. As for prices, do your research and check eBay and Amazon. They are usually cheaper and or willing to haggle or trade. Go to the Grapevine if you want to be ripped off or have a valid reason to complain about prices. I've had multiple transactions with these guys and I've always been satisfied. Their inventory changes all the time and it's definitely worth a trip to browse their selection and grab something that satisfies your inner geek.

For you poke fanatics they have gold and silver available! Available on (8/15/2016)

Besides the free comic book, the owner has booked a Smash Bros truck, a smashed burgers truck. We tried it, and the burgers were good!! A bit pricey ( 1$ extra for one slice of tomato and 1$ extra for some shredded lettuce ) but they were good! And somebody was selling coffee too. We sat in the car to enjoy our lunch, then went back to the store for more bargains. The bookstore has some outside vendors too. I bought a drawn book for my granddaughter, and they were some lovely bookmarks too. I bought some 3D printed Pokemon toys last year, but I was disappointed that vendor didn't come back. I have not seen many back issues with the exception of wall comics. They have a pretty large area of clearance $1 comics on the left side of the store which seem to be 2-3 years old books. I like that these $1 boxes are on tables and my back appreciates that they are easy to sort through. They also have an inventory of collected editions which includes trade paperbacks, hardcovers, omnibus, and compendiums. The owner Kerry has tried to help me find some obscure current comic books a couple times which I appreciate. The staff have all been helpful and easy to work with. I believe they do a significant amount of business in trading card/game card these days, but still have a respectable comic offering.

When I entered the store, the person behind the counter immediately questioned me on why I was coming in the store today. I replied, by stating I wanted to browse. Honestly I see this comic shop a lot and never had the time to come by and I wanted to check it out while waiting for my order to be ready at Best Lumpia. The shop owner then asked what I was interested in, I told him my husband really likes American comics and then I was going to tell him that I am more into Anime/Manga, but I never got the chance. He stopped me in the middle of my statement when he noticed I had my purse on me (which was medium sized) and told me I would have to leave it on the front counter if I wanted to look inside his store. Now, when I say that I know he has the right to say that, (especially since it's off Thorton Rd. and in Stockton)... the whole thing just gave me the "ick". It was such a turn off. I responded by saying "okay" and then left. Going forward I plan to stick to Al's Comics, Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

They have a selection of comic/game figurines that have been sitting in the store for years, untouched, because of how overpriced they are, same with their old used videogames. They charge $30 for $10 card, as an example. They have no bathroom, yet host 30~person 4 hour tournaments. Every other store I've gone to for tournaments allows food and drinks, yet the owner here will always tell you to take it outside, yet they sell snacks and drinks inside. What the fuck? Poorly organized, haphazard, unprofessional, and downright incompetent is how I would describe it all. Avoid it, you'll be so glad you did. Any online retailer or other local game store is about a million times better.

There has to be a better system, as some of those boxes look like they've been there since the store first opened. It just brings down the feeling when you walk into a store that is not well maintained. Just my opinion. Good luck!
