I can't believe this place has been in business for 10 years and I'm just discovering it now. The pictures before mine seem to be when they were located across the street so I will put up some updated pictures. Josh and his son Andrew are very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are fair. Compared to Amazon and Mercari, they are sometimes up or sometimes well below, but it's worth it to support small businesses and not have to wait for shipping. They have tons of antiques and hard to find games as well as game systems. Who knows, you may find the hidden gem you've been looking for. My review is about their retro video game selection. This place has a such a great selection of NES games. Quality over Quantity. Its not the biggest selection of retro games, but what they have are some great hidden gems and console defining games that I've been looking for a long time. My husband and I are anime collectors and were excited to find a place that had VHS of our favorite titles. On their opening day we walked in with $100 cash to spend. My husband asks about the tapes (they discussed it beforehand and said for us to wait for opening day) and the response we got was "I don't know where that crap is" and a blank stare. "Should we come back tomorrow?" ...store owner responds with "eh, maybe." We were willing to be patient and work with the owner to buy them by asking if we should come back. But it seemed like the stress of opening day was too much for them to treat people respectfully. My husband left a google review saying he was treated rudely. This was the public response they gave: "We have dealt with you before in the past and have had a problem. You come into our store when there was a full house and demanded that we serve you first and when we told you'd have to wait and what you were looking for is not on the sales and was still in storage. You then stormed out in anger. What were we suppose to do?" What could have been done? Simply saying they were still in storage and asking if we would come back later. It's clear that they need to work on customer service. I hope if you read this you realize how much it effects your business when you talk to customers that way. Making up a story about what happened? Nobody "demanded to be served first" as there was no line and you guys were standing behind the counter. You didn't appear to be helping anyone at the time when I looked. We sent at least 7 of our collector friends over to their store who spent sizable amounts of money. Instead of selling some of our metal LP's for full price, we brought them in and offered them to one of the employees because we noticed he wore metal t-shirts. We came in numerous times to buy tapes. Last purchase alone I spent $40 and I have no idea how much my husband or our friends spent here. If you don't want to be friendly with customers that's your prerogative, but I have a business myself and know that it's better to be nice to people who like coming to your store. Im the kind of collector (cough cough hoarder) that loves old toys, vintage, things that remind me of my youth and good ol'days :) I found that and so much more!! So many items made me smile. I don't venture to stockton that often due to not owning a car. I finally got to visit this place when a convention called stockton con was going on back in august. The best part about this shop is its just off the freeway and easy to find. From the outside it looks small, but as you walk in there is so much stuff. Toys, video games, movie collectibles and all kinds of cool stuff. I didn't know there was stores like this and I was amazed by the amount of stuff they had for sale. As I walked into this shop I knew I had stumbled into a store crammed full of treasures. I had no idea where to look first, my brain couldn't register all of the unique items across the store fast enough. I could see me childhood toys mixed in with newer items scattered along the walls. The vibrant colors of the action figures from the 80s and 90s dominated most of the store. The prices were very adequate for all of these rare items. To top the place off I was greeted by a very surprisingly pleasant store owner, his knowledge for all things nerdy rivaled his welcoming personality. Unfortunately for a lot of comics and toys hobby stores, the owners tend to be rude awkward or pushy, this is not the case at all for this store. Also crazy Perry's stories were a lot of fun to listen to while I browsed the shelves. JNA is a hidden gem in Stockton for anyone into vintage toys/games, Starwars, TMNT, Marvel, DC, and much more! I myself am a Marvel legends collector and try to make it out to as many thrift shops/toy stores as I can hoping to score. Stopped by here and was not disappointed. The store itself is very small, but has toys and games from the floor to the ceiling so it's not a bad thing. The people who work there are also very knowledgeable in the toys they are selling and are more than happy to answer your questions and have discussions. I usually stop by the place once every 2 weeks to see if they have any new stuff in. All in all, giving this place 4 stars. Awesome selection, good prices, and great customer service. read more

Great little tucked away shop that has an eclectic collection of retro toys, comics, records and just random geek culture memorabilia. Despite what some of the other reviews say, the guys here are really cool and down to earth. As for prices, do your research and check eBay and Amazon. They are usually cheaper and or willing to haggle or trade. Go to the Grapevine if you want to be ripped off or have a valid reason to complain about prices. I've had multiple transactions with these guys and I've always been satisfied. I walked into this store and stepped back into my childhood...the owner is friendly and outgoing and was willing to help. I told him that I was looking for vintage star wars figures and he showed me good looking figures with their weapons...the prices were reasonable..another worker who i found out was the owners son offered a bottle of water and we talked about the NES which he is very knowledgeable . I plan on coming back exclusively as they have a great selection of vintage and and modern toys as well as games and comics. I read a recent review and was surprised what I read cause my experience was polar opposite of the person... I came back later in the day with some stuff I wanted to sell as he was clear then while he buys most toys and Comics and stuff there are certain ones that he focuses on because he knows that they would sell and there are potential buyers for those items and usually he's more apt to buy or trade for those items then some other items And in talking with him one of the main reasons why he doesn't buy certain things is because the sheer amount of stuff that he has.. he has double and triples of some of the things and if they don't sell well he's not going to add to it and from a business standpoint it makes a lot of sense , you want something that you can get a good turn around on ..you get it.. you sell it and you make space for something else.. And he's polite about it.. So basically if you want great vintage stuff..then come to the store..its worth coming down fremont street. read more

After hunting for a certain action figure on eBay and online toy stores, I decided to look at places locally. I figured maybe there are some shops that sell some old stuff I want. I came across JNA Collectible through Yelp and as I was going through the photos and looking at them thoroughly, I was able to find what I was looking for. Yes, you read that right. The photo was old, like over a year old, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to call them up anyways when they open to see if they still have it. Now, onto the real review: I called them up as soon as the store opened, no answer. Ok, I'll give them 15 mins. Called back and someone answers. After a brief chat to set up my question, I asked him if he had the figure I wanted. He replied without hesitation or a split second of thought: "I don't THINK we have that." Lazy guy, but OK, whatever, the hunt for my figure continues. Later on that day a couple of my friends and I decided to go to JNA anyways. When we arrived and walked through the jammed door, we were greeted with a heavy sigh. This guy, probably in his 20s, did not want to be there. After looking around a bit, we asked for some prices on items inside the cases. Here comes more heavy sighs. We've asked him several questions only to get no response. Selective hearing, maybe? After looking around just a bit more, I found the figure I was looking for. The same exact figure, brand new package, that I called for in which he said he thinks he doesn't have. All their stuff was pretty organized, so I don't see how he couldn't have just walked towards that small section and read the print on the few boxes that were displayed on that shelf. I even told him it was in the box. They have a nice collection of old toys and games, but thats the only positive thing I have to say about them. Their prices are way too high, especially for stuff that aren't even complete. The customer service was poor. The only time I'll ever be near this place again is if I see them at a local convention. read more

I am glad that I do not base my opinion solely on these reviews- This is a great family run business both the antique side and the toy side. they are funny and amazing to chat with. The kid that some of the comments are pointed at is not only really funny, but knowledgeable and very thorough on testing merchandise. I have been in a few times where the item I am looking for is possibly in the back- you cant expect them to have everything on the shelves or counter. They are willing to work with you. I am a collector of Transformers and Pez, comics and various other things, so recently I decided I wanted to sell my extensive collection of transformers Gen 1 some in boxes some not. I explained all this on the phone when I called and told whoever answered the phone there, I was traveling from Reno down there and it was about 5 or so bins full. I was told to come on down they buy all kinds of whole collections in the box or out. So, I made the trip. Upon arriving I was told by a 20 something man with long dark hair to bring it all in. No introduction no" what's in what box" as I'm unloading this man started going through the boxes literally tossing and tearing through my collectables like they were nothing ,not asking questions or waiting for direction .Un wrapping some and others just tossing aside, then an older gentleman came out and started doing the same and as he is holding a transformer from 1984 in his hand above a box full of gen 1s wrapped up in the bottom told me these are all too new, not even bothering to check the unwrapped Ones. I was in such shock at the complete disregard or care for my collectables I didn't know what to say. It took them less than five min to rifle through what boxes they could get to, I started pulling boxes away when I saw them treating everything else with such carelessness. Then I was told there's nothing here we want you can get all this shit at a garage sale which is where you're better off selling it. No one introduced themselves, asked any questions or even said have a nice day, so unbelievably rude .As I'm leaving, I can see in their case transformers in worse shape than mine for sale. Ive been in the customer service business for 20+ years my advice stay far far away from this establishment. read more

Prices are very reasonable and the worker was very knowledgeable. He took the time as I asked about different games and he actually told the truth instead of just trying to make a sale.
