Had an incident at my property that was INITIALLY thought by the fire department to be caused by the fence but later determined to not be the case. The manager was combative and rude to me when I reached out to them with this information and hung up on me... Dave the owners response to my previous review about this incident was not actually a true account of what was told to me by the Fire Department and my interactions with his office and that's why it was removed... I WAS initially told that they believed the fence may have been the cause. After speaking with Dave who explained it wasn't possible, They changed the cause of the fire to undetermined. Unfortunately, that is not the story Dave gave in his response to my previous review which was removed because what he said wasn't true... His account of my conversation with the Fire Chief is not actually what happened... I WAS INITIALLY told, (by fire professionals) that the fire likely cause was the fence. Dave's account that they CLEARLY told me they didn't know the cause of the fire and just found pieces of the fence was not ACTUALLY what was told me in my email correspondence with the Fire Chief... I am disappointed in the very unprofessional reaction i received from what was a a very stressful situation. I was only going by what i was being told by the professionals... To be yelled at and hung up on by the manager, TWICE and then have the accounts of that incident and what was told to me by the Fire Department be misconstrued in Dave's response to my initial review is dishonest and disappointing... read more

The Invisible Fence Company met and exceeded our expectations! We had about 8 acres enclosed with the underground wire and even with a low setting our border collie would not go near the flags. A squirrel showed up and she ran across. Today Wayne showed up for the last training and increased the power setting. We tried to encourage her to cross the flags and she jumped about 3 feet in the air. I don't think a squirrel will draw her across the flags again! read more

Poor communication related to fee structure. Less than a 45-minute home visit in which we showed them the exact location of the wire/line break. A simple re-connection with added five feet of wire to move already exposed wire around the base of a tree. $342 later.....no discussion or communication of the fees. Still no invoice provided. read more

Inv Fence of Southern Maine is fantastic. We have had their fence product for over 15 years and it works very well and very reliably, with virtually no problems. When we have had an occasional break in the line, typically due to plowing, they have found and fixed the break quickly, even when it is under deep snow. As good as the product is, their people are even better. Whenever I need something or have a question, I call and the people are always cheerful and helpful. I have and have had the same system in another state and the folks in Maine are just the best. I highly recommend. read more

We were in search for a company that could install an invisible fence, so are pup could get out and room around our property without taking off. Jay came out and explained the entire process to us and didn't rush us to make a decision. Today Wayne came out discussed what he was going to do with my husband and myself. So, let me start by saying I've had 2 other dogs in the past and used Invisible Fence in NH & Florida. I had great customer service and had no issues with the fence working. I had one installed in Maine 1 month ago. I've called the company back on 3 occasions because my dog leaves the yard and doesn't even wince when she goes through the electric fence. They came to adjust it once. I work with my dog daily, and have explained to them repeatedly that she understands the boundaries, but she still walks right through when she wants to leave and doesn't even flinch as she goes through. This has now happend at least 5 times, so I can't allow her out any more on her own. The fence at this point is useless. I set up an appt for this past Thursday for a trainer to come out again at 4:30pm. I received a call at 4:31pm from Brian in their office saying they couldn't make it and needed to reschedule. So I asked if they could please just send someone to adjust the frequency setting. They refused and said I needed another 'dog training lesson'. Each time I explain to them what is going on, they are dismissive and sound like they are reading from a script "well you need tohave our dog trainer come out to do a retraining." It is not a retraining issue. She behaves just fine when they come out and then leaves the yard after they go. The dog knows the boundaries but exits the yard because the reward of leaving is greater than deterrant. I have had these fences before and I know the setting is not high enough for her (They said it's low to medium) They will not listen, they won't validate this, they just keep repeating "she needs more training". I spoke to the owner 'Dave' who was rude, condescending and arrogant. When I told him I have spent $1600 on a product that is not keeping my dog safe or doing what they promised, I was told 'you are not getting your money back, we installed the fence'. The customer service is just awful. They are not friendly 'can do' problem solvers but act defensive and like you're just a problem customer They don't seem to care and didn't once say what I would have expected: 'we understand your concern for your dog and will be sure we do what's necessary to make this work'. I should add they left bent pieces of wire with flags attached in my driveway that pierced my car tire . Needless to say, I am not happy with this company at all. read more

Disappointed and want my money back. Bought the most expensive fence to protect my dog. Was told I could move and take fence with me just to be sure to call ahead for install of new location. Which was a huge selling point. After 9 months I had to relocate due to unforeseen circumstances and placed a call. I was told that after moving I would still have to pay set up cost of $450.00 plus because I had moved 17 miles to the north of my previous home I was out of their "network" and the installation would or could be more! I paid over 3000 for a dog fence that is worthless. read more

Very disappointed with this company. They do not stand by their products. My dogs collar was less than one month old when it stopped working and my dog ran into the street unsupervised. We called, spoke to a very arrogant sales rep and was told they would not even replace the battery that hardly ever used. What a rip off, buyer beware! read more

Very, very disappointed in this company. Collars break - you would think after spending $2,000 the company would replace a $16 collar which broke roughly 2 weeks after they sold it to me with a "one year warranty." Of course, as soon as something actually breaks they tell you that "this is not covered under warranty." Protect yourself - use someone else. Get whatever they say in writing...
