I recently visited Invision Eye Care for what I believed would be a simple eyeglass exam, only to walk away feeling confused, frustrated, and completely disrespected by both the front-desk staff and the office manager. What happened: After eight months of recovering from retinal detachment surgery, my prescription had changed twice. I finally secured new insurance that would cover my eye exams--but it doesn't kick in until May 1st. I scheduled an appointment specifically for an eyeglass exam only and made it clear at check-in that I could not afford the (separate) contact lens exam until after May 1st. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor proceeded to perform both the eyeglass and contact-lens exams. I thought she was merely "tweaking" my existing contact prescription, so I didn't question it. The next day, I received a call from Susan ( who said she was the office manager ) at Invision telling me I owed $85 for the contact exam I had explicitly asked not to have. When I explained that I had not authorized or even realized a second exam was done, she brusquely replied, "Why didn't you stop the doctor?" and insisted I return the trial contacts. I then spoke with Niessa, the office manager, hoping for some understanding or compromise. Instead, she was condescending and rude--telling me it was entirely my fault for allowing the exam and that I must pay both charges. Why this matters: Lack of clear communication. I explicitly declined the contact-lens exam, yet no one bothered to confirm with me when the doctor performed it. Unprofessional customer service. Both Susan and Niessa refused to listen or offer any courtesy goodwill. Rather than resolving a genuine misunderstanding, they treated me like I was the problem. Lost trust (and a patient). Over an $85 fee, Invision Eye Care has now lost my future business--along with the cataract appointment I had already scheduled at that office. Bottom line: I understand policies exist, but a little empathy and clear communication go a long way. I left feeling like I wasn't respected as a patient or even a customer. Until Invision trains their staff to listen first and assume good faith, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them. read more

This past June/July, 2023 I had cataract surgery on both eyes. The surgeon was Dr. Hedaya. He did an excellent job. The surgery allowed me to now see distance without glasses. For reading, etc., I have to wear glasses. I've been wearing eyeglasses for nearly 40 years and never had this happen to me until recently. I was given an eye exam to now determine what prescription I'd need for reading. Dr. Strauss then sent me to their eyeglasses department. I have frames from my previous prescription and asked if I could use my frames with the new prescription. The sales person said yes, so I was happy that I didn't have to buy new frames as they are expensive. I received my new prescription glasses in about 1 week. From the start it seemed the script was slightly off. My mistake was assuming that because of the surgery it would have to adapt. Well, it never did. And to make matters worse the new lenses began to crack right where the nose bridge attaches to the lenses. In all my years of wearing glasses I've never had something like this happen. I'm very careful with my glasses. never dropped them or anything. but the cracks started and it really was very noticeable. I called a couple of times but to no avail. I'm sure lenses have some warranty time. I hope that this matter can be resolved. read more

Following up on a doctor recommendation for cataract surgery, scared, worried, after some research, 4 weeks ago I went for an evaluation, I walked into something unexpected and out of the norm for these times. A check in counter with knowledgeable, polite, take the time to explain things, staff who actually looked and acted as if they enjoyed being there. 3 weeks ago I was back for pupil dilation and my options moving forward. After another bombardment of my silly questions thrown at the staff they were very quick to explicate the causes, concerns and solutions to my conditions in laymen terms. Shortly there after a gentleman walks in with a chart in hand and a quick "bonjour" to greet my wife and I. He wasted no time, reviewed my scans mumbling just low enough not to expect any replies, spun around and spoke about my options with a no rush demeanor. I could tell by his confidence, knowledge, and body language I was in the right place. 1 week ago, Dr. Edward Hedaya, yet again, showed what a true man he is when i arrived at the Seashore Surgical Institute, the entire staff was unbelievably kind, caring and joyful, yet they could not believe when I told them I could not remember if I had a cup of coffee with cream before I showed up. The surgery was painless, quick, and the outcome cannot be put into words. Look no further, have no doubts, Dr. Hedaya and his staff are truly knowledgeable, caring people, though he could use a little brushing up on his french! when I initially called, the rep told me to speak with my insurance provider if the visit will be covered. I was told by insurance it would be. Upon scheduling the app and sending them my insurance info to confirm, they rescheduled me with a different Dr. I take off of work, and check in and am informed that my visit will NOT be covered by the insurance because they only cover "rwj " and I have "Davis". they refused to elaborate what the difference was and why I would be charged $235 for my app. What made me most upset was; they had my insurance info for several weeks, we scheduled and then they rescheduled and and at no point did they inform me that my insurance wouldn't cover the visit. Or that there was a distinction with my coverage, and I would potentially need to pay out of pocket for the visit. Don't waste your time here... read more

Very annoyed with this place. I made an appointment here, confirming that my Dr. was in Tier 1 of my health plan. It was listed on the website AND the front desk woman confirmed it. When I arrived for my appt, a new front desk person said, "Oh no, none of our Dr.'s are in Tier 1 of your health plan and I can't tell you how much it will cost." "I'll call and get that changed off of the website." .... not, "What, what does it say?? Really!?"... but, more like ... yes, I know that...oops! our bad! It was too late for me to cancel my appt. So, now, instead of a $40 charge....I received a $450 charge!!! Surprise billing is against the law now!! Really disgusted with your operation!! So, I needed to get LASIK surgery for my son. Picking the right DR. / Facility can be a daunting task. Well I and You (if you read this review) are lucky I found the right one. "InVision". In my search. I tried visiting a couple of opticians / stores, but I was not impressed with the leads I got. I then surfed the Internet using Google and chose a couple of LASIK surgeons to contact by phone. Well long story, short. After visiting one and making arrangements. InVison returned a voice mail I had left late a night before.  In comparison with the company I had made arrangements with, somehow, fortunately,  I was very impressed by the Coordinator who contacted me from InVision. Pease NOTE:- There are different types of this kind of surgery PRK, ASA.... Now the "Kicker"! After discussing the type of procedure to be performed by Dr. Hedaya at InVision. He recommended PRK. When we were making arrangements on when to do it and the follow up visits, which were included in the price. My son told the Dr. that he wanted to return to California in 3 months. Dr. Hedaya said unless he had access to my son for at least 6 months he could not do the operation. It was at that moment I recognized I had found the "Right Place" InVision. They really care about the patient and their reputation in the industry. We are completely satisfied with the surgery and the follow-up we have received from Dr. Hedaya and the staff at all levels at InVision. My son now has 20/20 vision. Before the surgery he couldn't find his glasses when we woke each morning. I was also very impressed by the Smart Technology and their interaction used at InVision facility (I'm an Engineer by profession). Last but not least. Dr. Roman and the team at Invision saved my life! One day I randomly lost parts of my eyesight and with a sudden headache. While the headache subsided, the vision never returned after a trip to the ER and a cat scan which at that point was claimed to be okay, I was told to follow up with my eye doctor. Dr. Roman took everything I said seriously and checked my eyes and my eyesight thoroughly. She and the team of doctors at Invision discussed my case and called the ER to have them relook at my cat scan. It turns out I had a stroke due to a dissection of the artery in my neck. Luckily, everything is okay and the only thing affected is my eyesight. Dr. Roman even followed up with me after I got out of the hospital. I cannot thank them enough! You can really tell how much they care and want to help. So truly thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! read more

I'm 28 years old and have been wearing glasses and contacts since I was a little kid. I've always wanted corrective eye surgery but was a little intimidated by the process. Around this time last year, I decided to go in for a consultation and found InVision in Lakewood because of its great reviews. After my consultation with Dr. Von Roemer, I felt 100% confident and decided to go forward with the surgery. From the receptionists to the nurses, to the doctors themselves, everyone at InVision is very kind and make you feel at ease during a time where you could be very nervous. The procedure itself was surprisingly quick and easy and the results were instant. It was really incredible. I went from not being able to see 5 feet in front of me to easily reading Parkway signs while my wife drove home from the office. The recovery process was easy too. Whenever I had any concerns or questions, Dr. Von Roemer made time to personally talk to me over the phone and even schedule an appointment to meet with me at his office as soon as he possibly could to make sure everything was fine. I just had my one-year checkup and everything is perfect. I would definitely recommend Dr. Von Roemer and the whole InVision crew to anyone who is on the fence about the surgery. I had a normal experience in office. Left without a true diagnosis though which concerned me. When I went to get my prescription, that's when it all went sour. It was way too expensive so I called the office for a generic prescription and also a callback before prescription was sent to pharmacy. Never got the callback. New prescription was the same price as original. Called again and was told no one is available and to leave the techs a message and they will call you back. Sure, like the first time right?? I was told they are with patients and those patients in the office are more important than those not in the office. Mind you, this was my first experience as I was a new patient. Needless to say I canceled any follow up appointment. About 2 hours later I received a callback from a tech who was clueless to my experience since she was calling to tell me that the 2nd prescription was at the pharmacy. Also, while in my appointment there were 2 techs taking notes so I'm confused as to why you need 2 techs in the room with a doctor and why 1 tech wasn't able to step out and take my call. I will NEVER go back there again just on the basis of how I was treated on the phone and the lack of internal communication. read more
