I was there for a diabetic eye exam and to check on a YAG laser procedure I was told I might need. It was the way it was done that I objected to. The technician did not identify her role and did not say that if she did an exam, she would be charging me. They had me do a whole bunch of stuff and frankly I don't know what was supposedly the refraction. The ophthalmologist did many of the same things. I got the impression that money was the big priority in this office.

She said that cells were growing over the lens that was put in during my last eye surgery. She recommend I go to the Within Center saying they were very good. I went there on 9/13/2025 they examined my eyes again and said I needed to have "YAG" laser procedure done on both eyes. They had the surgical coordinator contact me and scheduled the procedures for 10/22 and 10/29/25. She told me that someone would call me the day before and also send in a prescription for eye drops for after the procedures. Well I waited until the day before and no one called. I called the coordinator at 1:15 and she didn't answer so I left a message and also emailed her. I did not hear back although the paperwork she had filed me said I could call anytime to ask questions. I again called at 4pm and got the answering service who said the office closes at 3pm and they cannot contact anyone. (why do you have an a service then) So I have waited 39 days for nothing. So today the day I was supposed to have surgery while I was on the phone calling the first doctors office to tell them DO NOT RECOMMEND THE WITLIN CENTER. That is when the coordinator called at 12:10pm to finally say she got my message. She said that she forgot to put my appointment in the computer "sorry". But she would put me in for the next week. When I called her back again I got the answering machine. I just left message back saying told her don't bother I have made an appointment with a more professional office. I don't understand when it is your job to scheduled procedures how do you just forget?

I recently visited Invision Eye Care for what I believed would be a simple eyeglass exam, only to…read morewalk away feeling confused, frustrated, and completely disrespected by both the front-desk staff and the office manager. What happened: After eight months of recovering from retinal detachment surgery, my prescription had changed twice. I finally secured new insurance that would cover my eye exams--but it doesn't kick in until May 1st. I scheduled an appointment specifically for an eyeglass exam only and made it clear at check-in that I could not afford the (separate) contact lens exam until after May 1st. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor proceeded to perform both the eyeglass and contact-lens exams. I thought she was merely "tweaking" my existing contact prescription, so I didn't question it. The next day, I received a call from Susan ( who said she was the office manager ) at Invision telling me I owed $85 for the contact exam I had explicitly asked not to have. When I explained that I had not authorized or even realized a second exam was done, she brusquely replied, "Why didn't you stop the doctor?" and insisted I return the trial contacts. I then spoke with Niessa, the office manager, hoping for some understanding or compromise. Instead, she was condescending and rude--telling me it was entirely my fault for allowing the exam and that I must pay both charges. Why this matters: Lack of clear communication. I explicitly declined the contact-lens exam, yet no one bothered to confirm with me when the doctor performed it. Unprofessional customer service. Both Susan and Niessa refused to listen or offer any courtesy goodwill. Rather than resolving a genuine misunderstanding, they treated me like I was the problem. Lost trust (and a patient). Over an $85 fee, Invision Eye Care has now lost my future business--along with the cataract appointment I had already scheduled at that office. Bottom line: I understand policies exist, but a little empathy and clear communication go a long way. I left feeling like I wasn't respected as a patient or even a customer. Until Invision trains their staff to listen first and assume good faith, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend them.

The folks who work in this office were all so genial and friendly, both over the phone and in person. I also used to run into trouble whenever I had a checkup at Millennium because they always used the same eye chart and I'd memorized most of the rows - VRHKC, OZNHK, ZCVSR. I was relieved to see that Mack Eye Center had much more variety and therefore less chance of my having to act like I didn't know what was in front of me!
