All staff were so friendly and helpful to us during our stay in the PICU. they were constantly asking how they could help and if we needed anything, often coming up with resolutions when we didn't even ask for them. One of the nurses brought my baby toys once he was able to play and brought me coffee whenever I asked. This was a terrible situation but i'm so thankful for the staff in the PICU and our last day in the CICU that made our stay better. On a side note: the pharmacy in the main area of the hospital next to the gift shop is a great spot for restocking your medicine cabinet. You can get staple meds like daytime cold meds, allergy meds, tylenol, etc for just a few dollars. I got daytime cold meds for like $3! I also bought childrens ibuprofen, like a big bottle, for under $3. This is a hidden secret that needs to be spread!

I am concerned about how challenging this process may be for senior patients, as I can easily understand the frustration it could cause. Gisselle did stay nearby and offered assistance, which was helpful and appreciated. However, the length of time required to stand and navigate the system was difficult for me, as I live with chronic pain. Standing hunched over during registration placed additional strain on my neck and back while checking in for a pain management appointment. Thanks for making registration better with your smiles. Recently, they've been to the emergency room twice with heart problems and on the second visit, they decided to keep them for a couple of days. Everything is good, but they want to monitor them. Haven't been to a lot of hospitals in my time I feel like this one is pretty good. Staff comes across as friendly and professional. They have some really good doctors that are trying their best with an unusual situation. Orlando Health is part of my kids medical network because their partner works at Disney. If you coming through the emergency room, they have free valet parking during the day at least. We used it on our first emergency visit, but they were gone by the time we left and I had to get my own car from the valet lot. Security was quite helpful though. On this last visit, we were there before the valet arrived, but I was allowed to park in that lot as it is the closest to the ER. Once they were checked in, I had to figure out where the main entrance was and parking. Once I found it, I recognized things and was able to get into the C Lot which is for visitors and the front and valet uses it. On this side, the valet charges you to park. It is a healthy walk from the garage to the entrance, but no match for the amount of walking that you do inside this building that just feels like it goes on forever. My kid has some dietary issues and they've gone above and beyond to make sure that they get meals that are avoiding cross-contamination. Everyone's been really nice so far. I'm sure we will be back for other things in the future.

She has a pacemaker and I thought:"…read moreWell they have a vascular center, this is probably a good option to get her checked out." but it turns out that unless you're literally at deaths door, you're not going to get seen anytime soon. They took a reading of her pace maker and we waited, and waited for cardiology to get back to her. Turns out the Nurse had done it incorrectly and they needed to do it again and that had already taken close to 5 hours. Also, they had no rooms available, so she was being tended to in a hallway along with a bunch of other people. We were all huddled so close together that we all knew what the person nearby had. The older woman next to us was having severe back issues and pain. The lady in front of her hit her head in an accident and they were asking her questions to determine I guess whether she was concussed or not. "What year is it?" "Who is the current president?" "What is your name". It reminded me of when we had to take refuge at a hurricane shelter and were all huddled together on cots in a hallway. We arrived at around 2:45pm and ended up finally leaving at 2:00a.m and by the time I left the hospital, I was a zombie. I hadn't eaten, the fluorescent lighting had my migraines acting up and quite honestly, I shouldn't have been driving from how tired I was. At the end of the day, they never gave my mom anything for her afib and it went away on it's own and they were like: "Well her heart reading is fine, she's fine, she just needs to make sure she stays hydrated, that's all." Only God in heaven gave me patience to not strangle anyone that day.

I was here recently as a patient under the care of Dr. Elden, who is a Gastroenterologist. I had a fantastic experience! Everyone that I met here were so very kind, compassionate, and caring. Plenty of time to fill out paperwork and take the 15 minute or less tests. Asked reception for directions, it was literally right behind the desk. Was told to fill out registration at a digital kiosk. A few frustrating minutes later, finished and lady from lab window immediately calls my name. More than 25 minutes before listed closing. She asked for the purpose of my visit... I repeated what was in my digital kiosk registration finished 30 seconds earlier... walk-in lab tests. She told me I could not have lab tests done because labs had closed 15 minutes earlier. So the website states walk-ins until 2pm but apparently in reality, walk-ins actually stop at 1:15pm, maybe even earlier??? Nobody at reception told me I was too late, the sign in registration kiosk didn't tell me I was too late, and according to the website as a walk-in, I arrived with plenty of time to spare... hmmm. Reception might want to say something about being too late when you tell them you are there to take walk-in lab tests... perhaps when you select walk-in lab tests at the kiosk, the kiosk should inform you that you are too late. Where the webpage has a list of hours for walk-in lab tests, maybe it could possibly state hours are just some kind of pretend approximation. If this is how they treat patients or this reflects their attention to patient care, treatment, etc., I really hope I never end up taken here in an emergency. Imagine going to Burger King where hours listed on the door state open until 9pm but when you walk in at 8:15pm (45 minutes before closing), they tell you the grills were shut off at 8pm and will be cleaned 15 minutes from now at 8:30pm, and that the 9pm listed on the door is when the last employee locks the door as they head out for the night.

There is a separate emergency entrance from the ambulance entrance with some pretty healthy security. We got through it fairly easily and were able to walk right up to the check-in counter. I was with my kid and they were having some problems that were causing some heart issues. We explained that and they took us straight back. They were put in a room and a bunch of tests were run. They were hooked up to a juice bag or what you would call saline. While we were there, we met with a couple of nurses and two different doctors. After spending several hours there they were feeling marginally better and were released with the idea that they would see their regular doctor in the next day or so. While we were there, we were very well treated and everyone tried to be very friendly and helpful. As emergency rooms go for us. This was one of the better ones. Thankfully, we did not have to spend any time upstairs in the hospital itself.

I signed a paper that said if my insurance company doesn't pay for my hernia repair then I would have to pay $345 also there is a $650 charge if as a prepay patient I have to stay overnight. Ok... I wake up to find out I did NOT go home but instead the HOSPITAL OVERSOSED ME with too much medicine and they decided I should stay for their over-sedation mistake. I even had a hospital representative come ask me for the $200 balance owed as I was trying to recover. Anyway, I went home and less than 3 weeks later I see that my insurance was billed for my stay and they paid over $40K. WHAT what what?????!!! AND the hospital is billing ME the deductible coinsurance of $2650... I never sued them, I just want my money back and them to cover their mistake and write off the $2650. I have waited patiently for 60 days or 2 full months while my account from May 28th is under review from their insurance department. Only to find out today that NEVER happened and the supervisors are saying according to their notes the charges are valid. You make a $40000. mistake that would have only cost me $650 of which because it was YOUR mistake I would not have had to pay anyway? One supervisor told me that once they billed the insurance company and got paid my self pay status of getting a discount was null. If that's the case do what the anesthesiologist did and REFUND my money!!! What a racket and terrible business practice this hospital is running. Now I will wait another 45 days while you keep collecting countless insurance payments and never calling me back with the status. Stay away if you need your money and have a choice to go elsewhere. The campus is incredibly spacious -- almost too spacious sometimes because it's so easy to get lost! The architecture and overall layout are beautiful, and you can really tell a lot of thought went into creating a welcoming environment. They're currently expanding and building another tower, which is honestly mind-blowing to see. Being so close to Disney, you can feel that "magical" atmosphere they're trying to create for patients, families, and staff alike. The staff are great, and the gift shop is always a nice stop. There's a café and a cafeteria -- the food is pretty typical hospital food, so I wouldn't expect a five-star chef experience. It can be a bit pricey, and while it's decent, it could definitely be a little better -- but that's pretty common for most hospitals. I truly enjoyed my time working there, even though it was brief, and I still enjoy visiting. One thing that always gets me is how easy it is to get lost, especially around the different "neighborhoods" -- I swear I'm always wandering around Neighborhood C trying to figure out where I'm going. On the plus side, the gym is phenomenal -- huge, well-equipped, and such a great resource for both patients and staff. Overall, it's a beautiful facility with great energy, amazing growth, and a unique atmosphere that makes every visit memorable.

The EKG technician appeared unsure of what he was doing, which is especially alarming when a patient is there for heart-related issues. The triage nurse at check-in was rude, inappropriate, and spoke in a very unprofessional manner. It immediately made us feel uncomfortable and not taken seriously. Throughout our time waiting, staff members were openly gossiping and appeared disorganized. There was even an issue with a transporter that staff discussed loudly in front of patients, turning it into a public scene rather than handling it professionally. It did not feel like a controlled or well-managed medical environment. My husband was there for heart problems and a high fever. We waited over two hours just to get a room. During that time, he was not given Tylenol or anything for his severe headache, nor was he placed on a heart monitor despite having a history of heart issues. That was deeply concerning. Once we were finally taken back, the nurse who assisted us was helpful and compassionate. She informed us about a fast-acting medication option for fever. However, when I asked the doctor about it, his response was shockingly unprofessional. He stated that he would "prescribe what he wants and that's just how it's going to go." The dismissive and rude tone was unacceptable. Overall, we felt that patient care was not the priority. The lack of urgency, professionalism, and empathy was overwhelming. We will not be returning and would not recommend this facility based on our experience.
