The prices of the items are very inaccessible, and intended to be used as a weapon against the local community. The owner has admitted that the prices are in fact ridiculous, which is justified by the lack of other grocery stores within a twenty five mile radius. Take note as the owner is quite aware of this, and is the premise of their income. It's why the owner resides in another town, because they know their business would not work when given an even playing field. This is very indicative of their character and giving to this business is enabling said behavior. Purchasing groceries at this store legitimizes, justifies, and encourages theft. This store repays It's loyal impoverished community by making food a luxury. Take this from a resident of Boardman for twenty five years ; the new dollar stores opening have been a godsend. The community has been thriving since. Family Dollar and Dollar General have the same products but cheaper. I don't know why people still go here it doesn't serve the town.

We spent a total of $60 at this store. They did not charge inflated prices, and they even put up with lines at the restrooms. The parking lot was full but always had some openings even up to 1 p.m. when we left. A few of the people in the parking lot didn't even go to the Safeway; those people shoved their doors open and blocked other people from leaving their cars. Others slammed their doors into my mirror and denied doing it. The cashier who sold Safeway products to me told me the weather forecast was for sunny since it is always sunny in Madras; I told her that at least they have cheerful cashiers (although frankly I was then worried the eclipse might have fiascoed out with the weather). This particular safeway even accepted my Safeway Club Card and accepted the phone number to get "club member" prices for my wife.

The meat selection overall is pretty good. There are even some asian food items in here. They had refrigerated yakisoba noodles and some asian sauces that are sometimes hard to find, especially in small towns. Next time I'm there, I will get ingredients for stir fry! Only knock is that they aren't open very late, but then again, nothing is really open after 7 pm except the Round Up Grill!

We have called the owner and he said absolutely to NOT give out you pin number. The employees must either bring out a handheld device for me to pay or let me in to pay with out the mask long enough to pay. Knowing I would not have anyone home this weekend I had 1 of the boys go down and get me the food I need for the weekend. Well I realized today he got the wrong stuff. I had to take it down and exchange it for the right food. A employee came out I gave him the bag of food with the receipt. It turns out the right food cost $2 more. I was told I would not be allowed to go in a pay and they had no handheld device for me to pay on. I was tuned away with out any food at all. So until my children come home after the weekend I will have nothing I can eat. Thank you Heppner Family Foods. Your employees and customers come and go and few are even wearing a mask correctly, their dirty hands are all over everything yet a disabled person can't go in for 30 seconds to pay for their food.
