We have had several other lockers process and the results have always been fantastic. In contrast, Eureka lockers quality could not have been worse! Upon thawing steaks, ground, roasts, etc over 50% of the meat was discolored and smelled bad. Even the day we picked it all up, I remember it smelling so bad in there that I couldn't wait to get out. Others from the same processing dates had the same problem, and for months we attempted to resolve this issue with Eureka Locker. Eureka completely wrote us off, communication severely lacked, and at the end of all this, we never got a resolution from them. We will never use them again, and definitely recommend choosing a different processor in the area.

We've been looking for a place to get steaks since Thrushwoods in Galesburg shutdown to the public. We got two ribeyes and two New York strips and grilled them that night. Very reasonably priced and delicious! We also bought some jalapeño beef sticks and they had the perfect amount of kick that allowed you to enjoy the beef flavors too. Brock also told us about their huge variety of brats and sent us home with the maple and a package of pork patties to sample. We haven't had those yet but will fire up the grill the next chance we get. We'll definitely make the drive out from Oak Run for steaks and meats again as we enjoyed the beautiful homes and various establishments for adult beverages Elmwood has to offer. I asked about the difference between wild-caught and farm-raised salmon, and the worker (i was told his name was cooper) responded with an eye-roll and said, "It's just fish, lady." Not only was that rude, but also completely unhelpful. He then pointed vaguely towards one of the displays and said something like, "Whatever's there is probably wild," with no clear labeling or explanation. When I asked him to weigh some fillets, he handled them with bare hands, even though there where gloves visible. That alone was enough to make me second-guess the store's hygiene standards. Between the lack of professionalism and the poor customer service, I won't be returning. If you choose to shop here, check everything carefully--especially if Cooper is the one helping you.
