I had a waxing service done here and this woman was extremely rude to me. Not only did her wax techniques make me bleed but she frowned upon the tip I gave her and actually demanded a bigger tip. I gave 25%. Avoid this place and this woman at all costs. She seems friendly at first but after the service is done she turns into a demon. Not to mention she hurt my private parts really badly, so bad that I couldn't be intimate for three weeks afterwards. Absolutely terrible. First I would like to say how grateful I am for Vanessa squeezing me in last minute! She is super flexible with timing which is crucial for my type of schedule. Ipanema Wax is located inside Rosa's Beauty Salon in Inner Richmond and parking was a breeze when I went at 7! I was immediately greeted by the cutest little pup and Vanessa, the stranger who would be a little close for comfort in a few minutes. I love Vanessa, she is so sweet and always makes my eyebrows look phenomenal! I love that she plucks rather than waxes and she got me into henna tinting, which is semi permanent and really makes your eyebrows stand out. No need to fill them in for 10-14 days! Vanessa did a very thorough wax! She double checked everything and was very mindful of my pain tolerance. She was also very friendly and engaging the whole time the only problem was she used the same stick thru the entire wax and used the same paper strip multiple times which is a sanitary issue because you don't know what kind of skin problems other people have also that contaminates the whole pot of wax especially if a customer bled during the process that blood is now in the wax which could spread disease. read more

First, this review is way overdue. I saw Vanessa back in Oct 2017 and she was not only a patient, sweet, attentive throughout the brazilian waxing, also, thorough. And most of all, given my traumatic history(very painful, bleeding, swelling, ingrown hairs..) experiences with these types of waxes, this one was completely different.
