If you're looking for a more complex design, definitely specify that beforehand so they schedule you in for a longer block so no one feels rushed! Went here to get a gel manicure, and called ahead to schedule an appointment. When I arrived, I showed the woman doing my nails a picture of what I wanted, which was a french tip design but slightly more complex (essentially a double french tip), and she told me she didn't have enough time to do the design because she had a bunch of appointments after me. I apologized and decided to go with a classic french tip design instead. Halfway through the manicure, she decided she actually had enough time after all so she managed to do the design I had originally wanted. It was a nice surprise, but I felt pretty frazzled because it was such a last-minute change. It was a really quick manicure, but I felt that she was rushing the whole time, maybe because of the appointments afterwards, which made me feel a bit stressed. Not the most relaxing manicure ever but it turned out fine. The nail lady was really nice and I definitely don't blame her for being stressed about running behind on appointments. Don't know if she always works this fast-paced but just keep that in mind if you're looking for a more relaxing manicure experience! The nails lasted a really long time and only chipped in a few places but that's probably on me :')

The assistant Din Ve assisted me in/out of shop with walker and two steps. He went ABOVE and BEYOND in walking with me to the corner of Bush and Taylor and across the street to ensure a safe trip home. A hop, skip and a jump from the Union Square area and the shop runs ON TINE with appointments. A good idea to call first and schedule. Also 2 iconic pizza places nearby. You may as well make a day of it on Bush Street. Barbara Streisand sure did in "What's Up Doc" (Corner of Bush and Jones) and it worked out pretty well for her.

If you're looking for a nail salon in the Nob Hill neighborhood, look no further, and go to Tina's Nails! I've been getting dip powder manicures and regular pedicures here for over a year now. Gwen always does an amazing job! The dip powder manicures and pedicures last for a month and they don't chip! I highly recommend going here.

If you've never tried Powder or had a bad experience at other places, Gwen does a fantastic job and the best I've seen in SF. The powder mani lasts over a month, and it never lifts like I've seen at other places and where your hair gets caught in the cuticle. I've switched from Gel to Powder because the Powder doesn't ruin/weaken your nail bed. She also does designs as well and has quite a few selections. If you want to get a powder manicure, I'd suggest you'd make an appointment ahead of time. I also still get my Brazilian and eyebrow waxed here on the regular. She's super fast and efficient every time!

I wanted rainbow chrome for Pride month and I got it!! I've always tried chrome with OPI's push and shove and felt like I gotta switch it up. This place does it best and it's honestly one of the more reasonably priced salons in SF!! For sure coming back!

Gwen did an amazing job in my nails. I'm super picky and didn't even have to say anything. She made me feel so relaxed. And it's one person at a time so it's not stressful like normal salons. Very quiet and nice. I did it a neutral matte color and love it. Mary did my toes a gorgeous color and perfectly done. She gave me a quick foot massage after with lotion so that my feet were hydrated. Overall very clean and quiet and relaxing with excellent service and ended up with perfect nails. Gwen was a master with my black tip french gel manicure - you would be shocked how many nail ladies cannot actually do this! It's a serious skill and she has it. So happy to finally find a competent nail tech in SF who doesn't charge your life savings ...and even when they do it looks and feels worse than this. Hannah executed my regular pedicure with efficiency combined with a gentle touch to Mr sensitive toes that had been toes for an embarrassing month and a half . My bad. Thank you dear for making them pretty again by some miracle. Small place - make an appointment Worth every penny and more

Tina's Nails is a good nail salon in the city. The two women working there are so friendly and caring, and while the place is on the smaller side it has very homey vibes. There are two massage chairs with cushioned pillows and you should definitely make an appointment although walk ins are welcome, since they are quite busy. The gel manicure I got took a whole hour but it was done to perfection with my cuticles perfectly trimmed and 2 layers of gel top coat applied. The only issue that I noticed with my nails were that there were tiny specks of black that were trapped under the top coat of nail polish. I assume these were specks of dirt from the UV lamp machine that fell onto the drying nails and got sealed in with the top coat. While this does not look bad per say, I am not a fan of the dirt speckled look. Otherwise Tina's nails was a good salon to visit if you are in need of a manicure.

Gwen is AMAZING. Photos don't do her work justice. I come every month for a dip powder mani and gel pedi and I always leave feeling like that girl. She's really skilled and can do it all - ombré, French tip, multi color, etc. And the dip powder lasts a solid 3-4 weeks before I have to come back! She gets busy so I'd recommend calling a day in advance and scheduling an appointment. Go see Gwen now!!!

I came here for gel x because the price is a little cheaper than the salon at the next street over. The shape was not exactly as I asked for and was a little clumpy to be honest but I thought it was ok since I saved 20 bucks. Worst part was 5 of my nails broke within four days. The materials here are very bad and it's not the gel x. When i did the same nail treatment at a different salon it lasted 6 weeks. These nails feel flimsy. read more

I love Gwen!! This is my second time coming here and I am thrilled yet again. Last time I got a regular dip powder mani, this time I got tip extensions too (my nails were a taaaad short coming in) and they look SOOO NICE!!! They're very pretty and definitely affordable. Gwen did an excellent job with the green & white details. These nails + my fresh gel pedi have me feeling like a brand new b**ch!! 10/10 would recommend. read more

I recently went for a pedicure. Employees have a selective attitude towards customers. She was more unwelcoming with me compared to another customer who she was all chatty and amiable with. Spending the weekend in SF and in dire need of a mani/pedi, I decided to give Tina's Nails a try since it was near where I was staying and it had very good reviews. Gwen and Jen were very nice and worked on me at the same time. I love that as it is a timesaver! I told them I was hungry and they recommended a place a block over to get coffee and great Vietnamese sandwiches. I gave it a try and it did not disappoint! My nails turned out FABULOUS too!! Would totally go there again next time I'm in the city! read more

They don't *really* take appointments. If you call they will tell you if they are currently busy at the moment or not, and not put any appointment into a calendar. I know because I had a dip powder manicure appointment, and when I showed up on time, the staff was genuinely surprised. The whole time I was there, Gwen, who was doing my manicure, "took appointments" over her phone through her watch but didn't actually put anything into a calendar. What's the point of making an appointment, then? Anyway, the manicure itself was rushed, sloppy, and lacking proper nail prep. It started lifting in a few days and I went to a different salon to have it removed and redone. For what it's worth, it seemed clean enough and no harm was done apart from the wallet damage. If you are just getting your toenails done I'm sure you'll be be happy. Otherwise, they don't seem to take pride in their work nor enjoy their craft, and it shows. read more

I went here later in the evening for a pedicure and manicure. Gwen did an amazing job and she was so kind to stay late to finish up. I wanted gel nails but i wanted them a little longer than they are naturally. She did a new service called gel extensions and they turned out beautifully! Yaaaaassssss! They lay it on thick! Get my gels here every two weeks (my nails grow fast, so not because of the quality)! Super fast at removal and replacement! Also the nicest ladies! I serve and bartend, and they never chip! I have been to other places, but the quality does not even compare. They all do a great job so I'm not even going to single out a certain stylist. Super clean, follows all covid guidelines. I highly recommend! read more

Tina is super hardworking and detailed, and constantly made sure I was happy with my nails from the shape to the length and the color. It was my first time doing a powder dip manicure and the results were super pretty! It's definitely a bit thicker than regular color cause of the layers and about the same thickness as gel (if not slightly thicker), but Tina sanded it down so that the edges taper off and doesn't stick out oddly. It also seemed less fussy than a gel manicure cause it didn't require the UV light. I'm so glad that my friend recommended this shop to me for manicures and I'll definitely be back for both regular and powder manis! Remember to call ahead for an appointment especially around the holidays! read more

I live right in Nob Hill and Tina's Nails is a stones throw from my apartment, and I'm glad it is because I love the quality of this nail salon! I recently went to Gwen to put on some oval-shaped tips and powder gel to get that fresh, healthy longer nail look that's very "in" right now. She did a fabulous job and I am so happy. I spoke to someone through yelp appointments and they were quick to respond and gave me a time to come in. through it was super packed they had quick and friendly service. I got a pedi and mani for like $34 which was a great deal. The lady who did my nails was super sweet and sociable. Once I paid, was a little rushed out but over all I was happy with my experience and the quality. I will be back again read more

A few things. This place is expensive especially given the quality of work and overall experience inside the salon. In the beginning, I wanted to get dip so they sat me down in a chair. After a few minutes (while picking color) I decided I wanted to add extensions and the younger woman rolled her eyes at me because she had to move me to the chair next to it. I was the only customer in the salon. Then, the nail technician cut my pinky with a filer and instead of trying to quickly clean up the area and sanitize it, started panicking and nervously laughing. I understand that it's an accident but please learn how to professionally address a problem you have created. Only a week later, one of my nails fell off. Please take into consideration that I was on a vacation, so no sauna, dishes, or even laptop work. See pic. I paid $70 for this job. Really disappointing as I was visiting from out of town and maybe she would have done a better job had I not said that. The salon itself is tiny. I hope they sanitized the instruments after cutting me. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I booked on their website and did not pick a specific esthie but just said "anyone." Mostly everything is done online (forms). For the new client special you have to upload a picture of your photo ID into their system. I wasn't too thrilled about this as I don't like the thought of my ID being in their database. Cyber related incidents are on the rise now a days. I had my sensitive info stolen from my old CPA and fraudulent tax returns filed under my SSN before so no type of business is safe. A day before my appointment I got a text from one of their workers basically telling me that I hadn't confirmed my appointment and to do it before EOD otherwise my appointment would be cancelled. The text was sent with a bad tone. Kind of like, "you better do this or else" type of tone. I frequent several establishments that are appointment based and only one other place has told me if I didn't confirm the day before that my appointment would be cancelled but they warned me of this policy ahead of time so I already had a heads up. On the day of the appointment I got another text from someone there reminding me to do my forms before coming in. They really love reminding people through text over here. They also send you a text about 15 mins prior to your appointment to check in and then another text with the door code to let yourself in to the waiting room. They have drinks and snacks there for you while you wait which is a nice touch. Artrecia was my esthie and from the moment she called me back she had a very off putting attitude. I don't know if she was just having a bad day but it for sure seemed like she hated her job. Conversation with her during the service was minimal. I felt like I was doing all the talking and just getting short answers from her. It really was the opposite of what some people said about her personality in other reviews on here. Artrecia waxed me pretty quick which doesn't necessarily mean that she did a good job. I was actually expecting that she did a mid job based on her attitude alone and I wasn't wrong. My boyfriend later on examined my brazilian and pointed out at least 7 patches that Artrecia missed. Some were on the front part so it's crazy how she missed those. She didn't go in with tweezers or do clean up strips afterwards to get the spots she missed. Nevertheless, I still tipped her $10 which I feel like she didn't even deserve for the mid brazilian she did on me. Now I'm wondering if I'll ever come back. One thing is for sure, if I ever do, I won't be going back to Artrecia.

It took a lot longer to get our nails done, and Jenny had to stay 2 hours past closing to accommodate us, but she did a fantastic job!! I had to pivot from my original design but she was really skilled and I honestly let her have full reign of the new design, but they turned out beautiful. She put a ton of detail into making sure my nails were perfect to the very last minute. FYI a gel manicure with design and gems/pearls (self provided) was $65 pre tip, which is more than they list on the site. They prefer cash but venmo is also accepted. Very peaceful vibe inside, with a restroom and water provided. They don't rush you at all which is nice :)

Tina's is a place I would have never noticed if I wasn't referred by my friend who lives down the block. It's a tiny establishment, with no bells and whistles. They do have a lot of color options - so many that I had a hard time choosing. The ladies were patient with me as I changed my mind on my toe color about 5 times! The place is comfy but by no means fancy. You don't get the fancy spa jet chairs or TV to watch while you're getting your services. But they're fast and efficient and I was really happy with my gel mani and regular pedi when it was done. I was so sore and tired from the weekend that I was hoping they'd offer me one of those 5 minute massages for $5, but alas they just did the nails and moved on. Maybe next time I'll ask, as I'm seeing some massage pics in the Yelp photos! The gel mani and regular pedi cost me $48 before tip. A reasonable price, friendly service, and good work - that's enough for me! read more
