I went in after the Apple store told me they'd do nothing to help me get a backup, and the best they could do was replace my phone with a new one for $600+, without any of my data. Anthony immediately gave me advice about how to attempt a backup, and walked me through getting an iCloud setup and attempting a backup. Unfortunately, the phone didn't stay on for long enough for the backup to complete. So he took it and removed all the water, then did a backup before attempting ANY other repairs as I had told him the most important thing was my data (I didn't ask him to do this - he just listened and understood what my priorities were). Then Anthony tested the phone fully and told me what other repairs would be required. All in all, fixed my phone back to perfect working order for much less than the cost Apple were going to charge, PLUS they saved all my data. Sweet Memory were reliable, quick to answer questions, and regularly gave me updates on exactly how it was going. Phone problems really ruin your week, but they made it much less painful. I was unlucky because it's rare to get a defective screen, but I did. The screen kept freezing up and I texted Lew - he was so responsive and tried to help me trouble shoot. When nothing was working he made another appt with me and fixed it for me super fast and he noticed my iPhone case was a bit broken on the corner and also gave me a new case since I had to make 2 trips. I was just at the limit of my one year warranty, so I sent it in and they put in a new screen for free- a manufacturer's factory warranty job. The FedEx guy just returned it, and it looks great. They also sent their best tempered glass screen protector. I figured, "I've got a new screen and a high-quality protector; let's go get a pro to install it." So I called SF Smart Wireless, and explained that I had a new factory screen and a new factory screen protector. Could they install the screen protector for me? "Sure we can." "Okay, I'll be over in a little while." Here's the "Professional" job the guy did for me. He told me, "You can see some bubbles when it's turned off, but they aren't as visible when the phone is turned on." I guarantee you, the bubbles are visible when the phone is turned on! "Some bubbles???" I've got 34 bubbles on my phone screen now, and I've only had it back from the factory for an hour! This is my day off. I've got things to do. The staff is usually helpful, and turnaround times are pretty quick. However, my last experience was really disappointing. I brought in my DualSense controllers to fix analog stick issues and paid $100 to repair three knobs. Just one week later, I had the exact same issue with one of the supposedly repaired sticks. When I brought it back, I was charged an additional $60 to fix what should have already been resolved. What's most frustrating is that I couldn't get a clear explanation as to why I was being charged again for the same issue. If a repair doesn't hold up after a week, that should fall under some kind of workmanship guarantee--not an additional charge. I want to continue supporting this business because I've had good experiences in the past, but this situation felt unfair and left me questioning the quality and accountability of the repairs.
