He did not try to look at me for 10 minutes and rush me out the door like all my doctors have done. I haven't had any medical insurance for a long time and at 50 years old and somehealth issues I'm way overdue for a checkup. He saw me late (a 6 p.m. appointment). I was his last patient of the day and he did not rush anything. I researched and chose Dr. Kovar as my mother-in-law's physician a few decades ago and then added myself and my wife as patients. This is a really smart physician who is the personal physician for other doctors in our area, but I gotta tell ya, "really smart" is only the door-opener. Gerry is also thorough, generous with his time and above all, available. He calls personally with one's test results the same day the lab completes them. He encourages calling with questions or problems and his terrific medical office person, Sarah will often ask him your question while you hang on and has your answer immediately. If you call Sarah to renew a prescription, she likely will send in the Rx to the pharmacy within the hour. I am a Registered Nurse and have many professional relationships, and personal ones, with physicians in the state. Dr. Kovar and Sarah are in a class by themselves. The focus has definitely shifted from medical care to supplement sales, which is unfortunate because it is hard to find a good homeopathic doctor in our area. The icing on the cake was driving through an hour of traffic for an early morning appointment only to be told that they no longer take any type of insurance as of the first of the year. No communication or letter was sent notifying customers of this. Our family is done with Dr. Michael Hirt and the Center for Integrative Medicine...we are now switching all of our care to the UCLA system which does also have some eastern medicine MD's.

I was initially pleased with him -- like his reviews he spent time, asked questions, listened, was pro-active. My last visit with him in 2016 shortly before he was arrested. I had asked him about a pap smear, and he said it was up to me at my age (67). I said I would like one and asked for a referral, he said he did them. I was surprised as I had always gone to a gynecologist, but this is a minor procedure so I said yes. It was the worst pap smear I have ever had in terms of discomfort and pain. He asked me out during it. Afterwards when I went to shake his hand when he came towards me in his office he brushed my arms aside and said he liked hugs and grabbed me - all extremely unprofessional. I chalked it up to his incompetence and the weirdest pickup line I have ever experienced. Less than two months later he was arrested and I reevaluated my opinion and think it is likely he did something. It is important to note that some female patients had reported him 20 years previously and nothing was done. This was not my only sexual assault (flasher at age 6), but it was my last.... so far...

When I got there, everyone was very kind and had a great attitude. The office is also very clean without having that sterile, cold feel to it. The office has also integrated a lot of technology into the space like thermometers on the wall to take your temperature, screens in the rooms for any visual representations you might need during your checkup, and tech that the doctors use to easily send prescription orders to your pharmacy. I have now been twice and both times I have been there they have done a great job of balancing being punctual and efficient without feeling like you are being rushed in and out of the office. Both times I have spoken to Dr. Iqbal and I have never had a doctor spend so much time with me to address my concerns, ask important questions about my health / symptoms, and answer any Qs I might have. I felt truly heard both times I have been. Doctor's offices like this one are rare!

I am a former patient of this once beloved physician. Dr. Mysko was referred to me by a longtime…read morefamily friend with whom was a patient for 30 some years. I thought I had found the perfect physician in Dr. Mysko who reminded me of an old time country doctor. Unfortunately this perfection didn't last very long. I experienced numerous billing errors with my insurance co-pays, duplicate insurance claims and difficulty making appointments with his gossipy and snippy receptionist. . I must add that the doctors RN, Ris, was very knowledgeable, kind and professional, she went out of her way to accommodate my medical needs. In my opinion, Dr. Mysko failed to provide me with the medical care I needed but had no problems billing my insurance company for procedures I do not need. He also prescribed medications to me that I later found out that not only did I not need but the medications caused me some nasty side effects that I wasn't expecting. I had been having trouble sleeping and my insurance company referred me to another medical specialist. That specialist tried numerical times to confer with Dr. Mysko by phone and email yet got no response. I reminded Dr. Mysko quite a few times to no avail Later in my tenure with this doctor he agreed that my medical condition warranted being placed on long term disability and had his nurse give me some paperwork to complete which I did and submitted to the state of California who in turn contacted Dr. Mysko for my medical records and his recommendation. To my surprise Dr. Mysko never completed the required medical information even after many, many letters and phone calls from the state and me. Consequently the claim was denied which put me in a financial situation for five months time until I finally was able to relocate with family members yet never have been able to work again. It's my opinion that this physician has made so many false promises to me that I'm unable to recommend him and his services to anyone. Perhaps it's his time to retire and live off the profits of his many braggadocio real estate holdings including the building his practice is in.
