I went in at 12:21 and they greeted me well and had me in their chair within 15 minutes and did all preliminary observations, vital signs , etc.. the PA student was amazing and very through and cared about what she was doing .i was very impressed , then the PA came in and looked at it and cleaned it out applied anti bacterial and closed it up . then they gave me a tetanus shot as a precautionary method . Second time, the doctor was on lunch already and it was not even 12. I asked if I could get on the waiting list since I was there. I have been going to Moorpark Comprehensive for almost 25 years. Dr. Vo now runs the urgent care side of things and he is still wonderful. Easy to talk to, thorough, and listens closely to what you say. His nurse practitioner or physicians assistant is young and not nearly as thorough or proactive. One thing that I disagree with is that they will close for lunch on some days. It's called urgent care and they should be available whenever they are open. There is not a lunch listed on their schedule. Dr. Kodama has been our primary care physician for 25 years also. He has been an excellent doctor for many years. Unfortunately, I think he is looking towards retirement, and the quality of the practice has gone down as he has hired some young physician assistants and nurse practitioners to see patients rather than him. Getting to see him how is hard, and when you do, I feel like he is not as thorough as he used to be. The physician assistants are very quick to grab onto one idea of what is going on and send you prescriptions, but they are more times than I would like. They also don't listen very well when you talk to them about side effects or about the medication not working at all. Overall, our family still goes to this practice, we just need to be persistent in getting the care we need if we are dealing with the nurse practitioners or physicians assistants. read more

Let me first say I do not have a problem with the urgent care doctors, but I do have a problem with the front desk and the billing department. On TWO separate visits I paid the copay and it was not applied to my son's account, even after I asked to make sure it was applied. The billing department is hard to understand and after showing proof of payment multiple times I would keep receiving bills. This such as disappoint as I like the proximity to my house, but moving forward I will drive further to another urgent care facility. read more

We have been going here for over 20 years and love Dr. Vo and Dr. Kodama, however they are not always available and the last several visits we've had were with the NP and the visits have been terrible (they've lost records and I've had issues getting prescriptions because they've forgotten to send them in). Every month you send me a bill and every month I call to try and see why. I explain to whomever answers at customer service, that at the time of visit I paid my co pay yet for some reason I keep getting a bill. They apologize, "review my case notes", see why yes "I have paid a co pay" and they in turn "do not understand either why I am being billed for even more". For reference I have called on 11/18/2020 and was promised I would receive a call after the case had been elevated. No one ever called back. On 12/03/2020 I called and was promised that "yes they see the notes in the remark section", "have no idea why I am being billed for more money and I should receive a response soon". No one ever called back. On 12/29/2020 I called and spoke with Shubhangi and was promised she would absolutely return my call after this issue had been reviewed. She apologized that no one had taken the time to review and call me back. I thanked her, but let her know I have been made all these promises before. Of course, no one ever called back. So today I received another bill. No explanation to my previous inquiry. Remember we have choices where to spend our money and customer service does mean something. read more

In 2021, I saw Dr Vo several times for some very strange and unusual symptoms that were causing me discomfort- including severe post nasal drip- but also other symptoms as well. It was causing me extreme discomfort and I knew that there was something deeper that was wrong with me other than "allergies" - I was having very severe symptoms. Dr Vo treated me like I was crazy. He even suggested I see a therapist. He was very disrespectful and rude. Fast forward --- after YEARS of these severe symptoms, I finally found out that I really did have something wrong that Dr Vo missed- an infected root canal. I have been walking around with a severe bacterial infection in my tooth that has been draining into my throat since 2021. Dr Vo was so insistent that I was crazy, he didn't bother to even TRY to figure out what was wrong with me. He should not be trusted. He will not listen and he is rude. He never even asked anything about my past dental work or anything. He said that all my symptoms were in my head. I could go on and on but I won't. I went in because I believed to have broken my pinky. I had broken it before, so I knew the feeling and recognized the swelling. Went in. Got X-rays. Wasn't thoroughly examined by a doctor or nurse. When the X-rays came back, no one was entirely sure what was wrong my ever swelling black and blue finger that I couldn't bend (last time I checked, that usually means it's broken to some degree). They said it "might be fractured" and sent me to an orthopedist for a second opinion, who simply said it was sprained and I should keep it wrapped. Unfortunately, the nurse assigned to me was instructed to splint my finger with straight metal splint. When one breaks a finger, it is supposed to splinted on a CURVE to prevent the tendons and/or ligaments from becoming taught and unable to stretch and flex with normal movement of the finger. I was left in that splint for 6 days until I managed to see my GP who immediately removed the straight splint and had to bend my finger for me before he could tape it to my ring finger for support. It's been 3 weeks now. I still haven't gotten back full movement in my pinky, AND upon getting a second set of X-rays from a different complex, it has been confirmed that I had a bone chip (avulsion fracture) and now I'm stuck in the buddy taping method again. This whole experience has left me on disability leave from work. I could have gone back probably much sooner had I not been misdiagnosed 3 different times. I appreciated the kindness of the staff and their speedy service. The quality of medical care one receives at this complex leaves you needing to see additional trained professionals (and pay additional fees) for the correct diagnosis and treatment plan. One would think medical school and practitioner programs would leave a health pro with the ability to splint a mere pinky correctky and be able to take and read an X-ray. read more

Called first because I was in immense pain and wanted to make sure they could help me (didn't want to have to go to the ER). The person on the phone (receptionist) asked for my name and verified my address ... I had been there before, so I was not a new patient. However, when I got there the receptionist advised me that they no longer billed my insurance company. Why couldn't she have told me that over the phone? THEN, she lied to her coworker and told her that I was a new patient - this left me with the option of either paying the entire bill up front or going someplace else. If I would have known that before I drove there, I would have gone someplace else. VERY poor service ... I will not go back again and I will urge others not to as well. read more

My family and I have been coming to MCMG for about 20 years now. The girls at the front desk are always changing but they've always been with the same great attitude, ready to help. I can only think it comes from management. It is a busy place for they have Urgent Care besides the regular doctor's office. Yet, even now with Covid19 you are able to see a doctor when you need to, they also make you feel you're in a safe environment. You can make an appointment with either doctor; Doctor Kodama on the regular side and Dr. Vo who also takes care of the urgent care wing. When my boys were little and would get sick, they would ask for Doctor Vo by name. Doctor Vo is extremely knowledgeable, patient but efficient with his time, he listens to his patients (yes, even the little ones). I saw Dr. Vo without an appointment today (Saturday). The wait time was well worth it. He was better than most general practitioner doctors I've seen. So much so, I may think about asking if he can be my primary care physician. Really handy that they're open 7 days a week and on holidays, because just my luck, things always seem to go wrong with me outside of regular hours. The only negative is the receptionists could be a little more professional. I had to ask them if I could speed up the process by providing a urine sample while I waited, and that shouldn't have had to come from the patient. Other than that, great place. I have also seen Dr. Kodama, also good from what I remember. p.s. The pharmacy next door is excellent. I asked the pharmacist for advice; he was very nice and knowledgeable, and he didn't brush me off like they usually do at the large chain pharmacies. There's also an awesome gift and clothes selection inside the pharmacy. I even bought a cool flannel shirt there to cheer myself up. Highly recommend! read more

We have been patients of Dr. Vo and Dr. Kodama since they were in Simi Valley back in the late 90s. They have cared for our two kids who are now adults, my wife and myself. We have been very fortunate to have doctors that care and that we can trust with all of the issues that come up in the course of a lifetime. The hours advertised during weekdays are 9am - 9 pm. On Monday evening, I show up at 8:30 pm and was told the doctor wasn't seeing any more patients. If you advertise those business hours, you should stick to those hours. I drove there and wasted my time talking to Veronica who clearly didn't care about customer service. Save yourself a headache and angry rage - go somewhere else. My husband and I brought our 13 month old in for urgent care, since she sliced her fingertip and was bleeding non-stop. First, the receptionist was RUDE and not comforting, then they tried to make us wait until my husband demanded immediate assistance, in which they helped us right away. The nurses/Phys assts were very nice, and Dr. too, but it took awhile to get the bandage on right. No stitches needed. He bandage fell off as soon as we got home, then they charged $300 for the visit - insurance paid half. We refused to pay that for a bandage, so the doctor changed the billing code. I went on to pay the copay a month later, and the receptionist was so rude that I decided to find someplace else. read more
