This review is for going back in September 2016. After a day of being sick in Paris, I craved soup. When I found out there was an ippudo in Paris well naturally I had to go!! I love ippudo! I've only had the one in New York but I was sold! So obviously coming here I was super excited. No long wait, interior was nice but tables are jammed pack so you can totally hear the other tables convo, hate that. Now for the food. Definitely a different menu than the one in New York. Husband got the pork buns and said they were good. Our ramen, how should I describe it....interesting. Noodles were on point, the broth I don't even have words. Like it was sweet but not hearty :/ see it was weird. Wasn't digging it, but didn't want to waste food. All I can say is it's alright but weird and not like New York location at all. My husband ate my pork and his pork and the next day had diarrhea. So yea :( Maybe all ippudo chains aren't good. Or maybe it was an off night. Not sure, but won't be back read more

As an avid ramen lover from LA Ippudo did not meet the standard that I had in mind. The basic ramen broth is very thick and salty and the noodles itself were not cooked enough (keeping in mind the level I had asked them to be). My mom and I came here for one of our last meals in Paris and was disappointed by both the taste and the serving size. Only the Gyoza was worth our buck. Being in search of the best ramen, of course we had to try ippudo. We aren't big fans of fatty broths so we always stick with the shoyu, which unfortunately only comes with chicken so we ordered the pork as an add on. So let's start with the noodles. They're not bad because they're cooked al dente, but they're too thick for my liking. The broth was probably the best part and it has the perfect amount of umami to saltiness to it. My other favorites were the egg and the bamboo shoots. The egg was cooked perfectly and the bamboo has a kind of tart flavor to it that went well with the soup. The pork was only alright to me. It wasn't super tender and there wasn't any char on it that would make it taste better. The chicken we got with our soup was super dry, so definitively stay away from that if you can. For me, the meat is one of the most important components of a good ramen so that was kind of disappointing. Hope this is only the case for the Paris branch. read more

We were in Paris, the center of Fench cuisine and fine dining, yet we chose to make one of our meals during our stay to be at Ippudo - which speaks volumes about the high regard we hold for the establishment. Quality matches that of the one in Hell's Kitchen, if not exceeding it. The texture and firmness of the noodles were just right, with flavorful (but not too overdone) broth to complement them. We were looking for good street food and stumbled upon this place when we were walking late at night. I had the chicken shoyu and it was nice and flavorful. The cucumber appetizer was fresh and crisp (highly recommend). We also got the veggie rice option. Be aware it is on the spicy side but doesn't say that on the menu. The food in general was good. The service was pretty good considering the service in Paris isn't as good as it is in the States. We go really lucky and didn't have to wait for a table but when we left there was a line out the door and almost to the next corner. read more

I remember when Ippudo first came to NYC and it was so hard to get in due to the ridiculous line up. Now that they are available in several locations in London and Paris and there is no barrier to get in, it makes you wonder if the ramen there was ever anything special. I was underwhelmed with the one we went to in Canary Wharf London, but relatively speaking for Paris, Ippudo is good if you want good ramen. Having eaten a lot of ramen recently all over Paris, I would say that the quality is good and the price point is reasonable paris standard. Absolutely love this ramen. I haven't tried all of the other ramen spots in town but Im pretty sure this is one of the best ones. Do yourself a favour and also order some entres, the Gyoza are great as well as the buns. Any of the ramens are amazing but my favourite was the chicken. Absolutely delicious! We are foodies from San Francisco, and used to eating a variety of cuisines every week, so we decided to take a break from traditional French food and pop in for some ramen. We are kind of spoiled in SF with ramen, so we were a little wary. However, this place really delivered some fantastic ramen! The appetizers were great too. We can order in French at most restaurants, but were a bit perplexed by the French ramen menu, but never fear... they had an English menu and a fluent English speaking server for us. The service was great (we were a little high maintenance with our 8 year old, picky-eater son), and it was fast. The only negative is that they do not have any to-go containers if you do not finish your food and want to enjoy it later. I'm from New York City and I live in New Orleans now and when we arrived in Paris it had been approximately 9 months since I'd had good ramen. The last ramen I had was at Ippudo in NYC so naturally, when my noodle craving hit and I found out that Ippudo was now in my Parisian hood, I had to try it. We have a knack for arriving just before the rush and on a weeknight in the 5th, this time seems to be about 7:30pm. We were seated quickly in the back (SO HOT) but moved to the front so that we could breathe. We ordered the gyoza, pork belly bun, and two Akamaru bowls both with the soft egg. The appetizers were fine but immediately we noticed that something was wrong with our ramen because the bowls didn't look alike. Mine was missing that delicious red miso-looking stuff that flavors the broth but my husband had his (but, it was basically chili paste and not the stuff they serve in NYC). The other thing that was different was the texture of the broth. I know that sounds douchey, but I like my ramen slightly grainy and a liiiittttle thicker than what they serve at this Ippudo. The most important critique I have is that the broth just wasn't flavorful. Again, my husband had more 'stuff' in his ramen even though we ordered the same exact thing and his was slightly better, but mine tasted like when you add too much milk to your coffee and your coffee flavor just becomes watered down (you know what I'm talking about). The redeeming factor was the service. Our server was not put off by our English and we worked through the language difference without it ever being frustrating. So, for consistency's sake I have to dock a star; I couldn't stand that I was missing ingredients! For actual delicious' sake, I will also dock a star because the food wasn't as strong and flavorful as I expected it to be (based on the NYC Ippudo). read more

Great ramen place! This was the second ramen place we tried in Paris, and this was by far way more superior. The service is pretty quick, as the lines can get long after 7-730pm, so they are trying to get you in and out fast. That being said, we weren't rushed or pressed to leave at all. Get here right when they open at 6 and you won't have to wait for a table. I highly recommend the chicken ramen. The combination of flavors and toppings was perfect. It comes with 2 slices of chicken and half a medium boiled egg, and anywhere from 2-4 pieces of seaweed. The chicken katsu with rice is delicious as well. I was disappointed that they didn't have any takeout containers, which I can understand for the ramen. My son didn't finish even a quarter of the chicken katsu and rice, but we had to let them throw it away because we didn't have any containers to put it in either. Still, I would recommend this place if you are looking for a good bowl of ramen. read more

Went there for an early dinner with my partner. We got the cucumber app which was presented well and delicious. I ordered the spicy ramen and my partner ordered the non-spicy version. Overall, the broth was flavorful and pretty good although my partner's was a bit too salty. However, a major part of the ramen is the SOFT BOILED egg. Both of our eggs (which we paid extra for) were hard boiled and cold. The noodles were pretty good but "unique" since they were very thin, and the meat was delicious (however, we did not get that much meat despite paying extra). My main concern was the hygiene of the restaurant. In the bathroom, there was no soap and no running water. There was only one bathroom in the place, and there was a note saying the tap did not work all the time. The tap was not working for us when we were there. This is a huge health concern, because this means the employees do not wash their hands, and we saw noodles being placed into water with bare hands. We had to give this place a 2/5. Please do not visit unless you want to take the risk of getting a bacterial infection. read more

This place is good. I had the vegetarian ramen and it was everything I expected. I live near many Asian communities in the States so ramen out there is the best thing next to what you find in Japan. This place used a different textured ramen than what I'm used to but it's still very tasty. The staff is nice and the place had a sort of bar seating area for single visitors. This is by no mean authentic Japanese ramen. If you happen to be nearby and want to grab a quick bite, the quality matches the price (€20-€30). First off, the tamago is cold and not served in halves. Reason being the inside and the egg itself hadn't been marinated in soy sauce long enough. They give you one slice of pork belly. The overall taste is better than instant noodle at best. The flavor is jumbled up by choppy condiments. All these ingredients are not tied together by the broth or noodle at all. We got shoyu and spicy broth but there was no clear distinction between the two. Did I mention the egg is cold? They can not mess up a bowl of ramen harder if they try. It's a shame that Parisian's palate had decreased dramatically for passing this cheap imitation as Japanese ramen. read more

Before reading the reviews, I didn't know there was also a popular ramen restaurant like it known in NYC. I decided to try it out because of the reviews. Not sure if it's a thing in Paris, but when I walked in, customer service was non existent. Typically, I'd just walk out and find another ramen spot(we we're craving ramen), but we were so hungry and stayed for convenience. There was no acknowledgement and I wasn't sure how the seating worked. After waiting for a couple minutes, I figured out that you stand in line, and just wait for someone to acknowledge you and show you to your table. When we finally got seated (maybe waited 40 minutes, no less), we ordered ramen before the table next to us, but they got their ramen first.. when our ramen was brought to the table, it was okay. Unfortunately, to my expectation, it didn't live up to the Yelp hype. It was a bit too salty (and I love salty food) and I felt there wasn't anything special. I did eat it all though, cuz I was hungry.. I'm not saying don't go here.. it's alright, and maybe they had an off day.. however, if you've never had a good bowl of ramen with nothing to compare it to, and don't really care for customer service or you're not in a rush, this place is ok. read more
