I've purchased many Lexus' from Ira over the past 30 years. First, from Steve Pugatch and then from Gene Porzio, who is now working in service. They had both been extremely helpful, respectful and professional throughout the process. However, my most recent involvement with Ira Lexus, was the worst car buying experience I've ever had! Our salesperson, Ms Zallen, was very nice, yet lacked experience and should have had a seasoned professional shadowing her. She neglected to give me an important piece of information that caused us a lot of time and unnecessary frustration. Mr. Coco, the sales manager, sat down with an attitude and was extremely rude, insulting, and unprofessional, unwilling to listen to us calmly or politely. And thirdly was the business manager, Mr. Monterroso, who issued instructions to us that were unnecessary. The solution we chose was much simpler. He also insisted on pushing expensive warrantees of up to six years and many of thousands of dollars more onto the sale of my SUV, though I twice expressed to him that I was not interested! I only put on @2K miles a year. Why would I purchase an expensive car and still need to buy warrantees? I bought an expensive car so I wouldn't need warrantees! I cant believe what happened to me at Ira Lexus. They had a 2024 subaru Limited I drove 90 minutes to go see a week ago Monday. I meet with Alex Baker after taking a test drive and sat down to talk about pricing. The car had been reduced in price every two or three days for a month so I asked if they could go lower he said no. Then on the next day Tuesday they reduced the price another $500 dollars then on the following Saturday they reduced the price another $1,000 and before I could even call back I believe they sold the car. No phone call from Alex no email nothing. I know this email will mean anything to them just want to put it out there for a bad attempted buying expierence. After I completely paid for my car: - The following day, I texted Geoff who mentioned to me the week before that the car can be delivered and hence, I wanted to know if there will be any fees. He ignored my text. - A week later, I unexpectly received an updated policy from my auto insurance company with my new car added. - 9 days later, I got a text from the sale man saying 'when will you come in to pick up your car? it's been ready for over a week' ... what went thru my head was "Really? why didn't you communicate to me on day 1"- I didnot want to respond. Certainly, there was lack of professionalism and communication and I felt like it's all about the business's interests and nothing about me, as a customer. My entire life, I own only 2 Lexus, and for some reasons, I ended up to purchase both cars at your dealership, the furthest dealership away from my house. If I ever decide to buy another Lexus in the future, I would not choose your dealership and would not recommend it to anyone, unless customer service is going to improve. My friend recently bought the Rx350 Premium+ at the Northborough dealership and he was treated so much better. My family and friends bought Lexus in the past from other locations and I haven't heard any complains. 1 of my friends also bought Lexus couple years back at your dealership. After a year or so, she traded it in to get a different brand because she disliked the way Lexus treated her. Purchased a used Subaru for my son. There was a line item cost built in for two things. 1) $1500 for some car coating paint protection nonsense. It's a five year old Subaru with 73k miles on it. Seriously? 2) $500 line item cost for a vehicle finder/anti theft system. I was told my insurance company would give me a discount for it. I said okay good for my son and get a discount. Called my insurance carrier AAA, maybe you've heard of them. They said they've never heard of it and there's no discount. Called my salesman, he never called me back. The sales team is very dishonest and unprofessional. They had a nice GS350 at a reasonable price listed for sale but with no pictures on their site. Curious, I tried to make an appointment several times and strangely got a runaround. They did everything possible to prevent appointments view the car. Don't dealerships want to sell cars? The reason for the runaround became clear soon enough, turns out an employee bought the car before it was made available to customers. Two kept texting & calling without answering my question -just wanting to talk I guess. In contrast, Ira's Jason Piazza confirmed right away he had exact model in stock and got it ready for us before we arrived. After a short test drive, he had fair offers waiting both for the trade and the new car- no back and forth to the 'manager.' Both offers squared on generous side with Edmunds and CarFax. No time wasted. We put down a deposit and returned next day to swap trade for new car. Jason spent an hour walking us through all the features before sending us off. Ira refunded the inspection fee because we got it inspected at our local Sunoco, and they Fedexed the EZDrive pass we'd left in trade. I think it says a lot that I've been with this for almost a decade and still have great things to say. Run don't walk away from this horrendous dealership. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a car dealership they were extremely rude and unprofessional. I drove over an hour to look at a car they marketed as certified preowned which should mean any issues with it have been taken care of however the wheels and rims were completely destroyed and the side had a giant body scratch this was never shown in photos or indicated anywhere in the listing. Then I had to deal with Carl who could barely speak English and was so rude and demeaning he made me wait two hours to give me an insulting offer for my trade in and said under no circumstances would they negotiable the cars price or the price they gave me for my trade in. On 9/3/22, my car was towed into Ira Lexus of Danvers because it would not start. On 9/6/2022, the dealership tried to charge me $821.04 to install a new battery and replace what they said was a hopelessly corroded positive battery terminal, saying the car would not run without the work. I declined, paid the $195 they charged me for "diagnostics", and took the car for a 2nd opinion. Less than 1 hour after I left the dealership, another licensed shop gave me a printout indicating "good battery", and said there was no problem whatsoever with the terminals or connections. It turns out that the only reason the car would not start was that I had been trying to use an unprogrammed spare key. The car starts and runs fine using my usual key- which I had already provided to the dealership the day before with the request that they try it first before doing further diagnostics. I immediately drove the car (that was- and still is- running just fine) back to the dealership, showed them the printout from the other mechanic, and asked for my money back. They claimed their instruments had shown that the battery was bad. I'd like to believe this was an honest error, but I have no explanation as to how they could have seen extensive corrosion where there is none, and how they did know that the only "fix" needed was to use the correct key (with which they had been provided). To their credit, they immediately refunded the $195 diagnostic fee I had paid. Sadly, I'm not sure they will ever be able to restore my faith in either their expertise or their honesty. I am beyond disappointed to lose what had previously been a trusted and respected resource. read more

Unfortunately that I have to update this previously positive review, but what a terrible experience my last time there. I came in and worked with the usual advisor about an oil change and slight rattle. The COVID protocols made me a bit nervous as the person taking in your car wasn't wearing a mask, and routinely walked in and out of the building where it clearly marks masks as mandatory with the mask below his chin. They put me in a loaner, and I left. The loaner reeked of cigarettes, and I immediately called The advisor to let him know. He offered to give me another, but I was already far down the road. I noticed that the person disinfecting the rentals was doing a great job keeping her mask on, so she probably couldn't notice that someone smoked in it, completely understandable. About 2 hours later, I get a call from the service advisor. My oil change and the rattle was going to cost me over $2500 to fix. I asked what was going on and was told that I had "frozen or sticking brake calipers" and that the rattle was a heat shield that will cost $700 in parts (for a piece of sheet metal). I said thanks, but I won't proceed and picked up the car. I get a survey over email asking me about my experience, and I answered honestly. It wasn't good. I immediately get an email in ALL CAPS from the service advisor asking me why I submitted a bad rating, how I screwed him, and how disappointed he was. Why offer a survey at all if you're going to be berated by the service advisors when you don't submit anything but a 5-star rating? Really awkward that these people act that way. OH, and my $2500 repair bill was handled by a local shop for... get this... $300. I don't know if the dealers are hurting and trying to make up for lost business by ripping customers off with unnecessary repairs or what... I am okay with paying a higher price at the dealer because I know that a warranty backs it, but $300 vs. $2500 is unacceptable. Their claim that my brake calipers were frozen was ridiculous too because you can't actually tell if that's true until you get in there to look, so that seemed dishonest. read more

that's not the only story, Mr. Chase. we were loyal IRA customers for years (two lexuses) until around 2018 when IRA started charging outrageous fees and giving poor service. one of our lexuses developed a clicking noise in the interior air circulator after an air filter change. brought it to IRA, they said they fixed it, called me to pick up the car, but it still wasnt fixed. they looked at it again and said the whole thing needed disassembly and rebuilding. IRA wanted 1500 dollars to repair it. Compared to Lexus dealerships that I've been to this dealership is not up to their high standards. It's been a couple of years since I purchased my car but in hindsight, I never should have given this dealership my business. The sales experience was miserable and akin to what you'd expect at a used car lot. The whole "let me have a credit card so I can bring this offer to my manager" trick is so lame. Had my wife not loved the car, I would have walked out after the first offense. There were several other instances that were borderline rude and pushy. Given this grueling 4 hour sales process, the financing was by far worse. The husky kid that was doing our paperwork was extremely push and rude because I kept saying no to all of his "add ons", he was clearly not making his quota so he resorted to saying things under his breath and sarcastically laughing, he was belittling because he was blown away that I turned down all of his extras. I thoroughly enjoyed saying, "no" to him or that "I'd think about it" as he was becoming more and more antagonizing. I reported him to the dealership manager at the time and while they apologized, I just felt grossed out by the entire process. I urge people to check out another Lexus dealership for premium service that justifies the amount of money that you're spending. read more

On a trip, decided I wanted to get the oil changed in my 2015 Lexus RX350 and found that Ira had a good deal on their website. Noticed they also allowed 6:30 pm appointments during the week...even better! Unfortunately, I never got to find out if they were/are any good. On my way to the 6:30 pm appt (which I setup 3 days earlier online), I got a call from a service advisor telling me that they don't do oil changes after 6 pm. Why would their system let me schedule a 6:30 pm oil change? Don't know, they suggested I leave the car...yeah, I'm on a TRIP..can't do that. Anyways, I never had the chance here, and I'll be getting the oil changed somewhere else of course. If I could give both IRA Lexus sales AND service zero stars, I would. 1. I wondered why they wanted me to bring a personal check when picking up the car I purchased. The reason? The $34k cost (after trade-in) I agreed to ballooned to $41k when the business manager stepped in. I thought I had refused every extra warranty but I get not. Good thing I took a photo of the "internal" sales doc I signed originally. After seeing $7k of added costs on them three different lines, I pulled up the agreement in my phone. He was caught and Poof! and the cost went back down to $34k. I have an MBA from Harvard so I'm not an idiot. They are just underhanded, plain and simple. 2. I wanted a roof crossbars and they referred me to parts & service. I went online and ordered from "IRA Lexus Danvers" OEM crossbars for $360. They came without installation instructions, just a blurry one-page photocopy of removal and re-installation with no reference to the nicely color-coded and Letter-coded pieces. So I asked service to put them in when I visited to get my inspection sticker. They asked for $99 to install. I was furious. If you don't give proper instruction on a somewhat complicated installation, you should be willing to help install. They would not even take a refund because the lady in parts said that's a "3rd party". I called customer service in the email I got when I ordered the part and it rang right to their phone. Still no refund offered. Finally, a parts guy printed out installation instructions which were actually legible and referred to the stamp on the parts. Well, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Guess this is what it takes to get some service at IRA Lexus. PLEASE GO TO WATERTOWN LEXUS OR TO A NEW HAMPSHIRE LOCATION. There are better places to buy what is otherwise an awesome car. Horrendous customer service!!! Steer away and find another dealership that will treat you right! I've never been treated so poorly when trying to spend so much! Sunday, the 17th I stopped by to check the Lexus GX460 with my son. After a brief wait I was greeted by a nice salesman Jake, who offered to show me the car and help with test drive. I'm in the early stages of screening the market for a new car. My wife's lease will be up soon and she liked the GX among other large SUV's. After test drive we got down to the financial part where I asked about a lease offer that Lexus.com has listed on the website for $449.00/month (terms and conditions may apply) we all know that. Long story short, I had to wait at the salesman's desk for him to go to the manager to get the numbers. Among other things I asked about, money factor (APR), residual value, multiple security deposits, MSRP, if selling price was negotiable, if there are any incentives, etc. The salesman left and was taking longer than usual so for that reason I told him that he can email me all the specs. When I was ready to leave, the sales manager rushed through the door intruding himself also promising that he will send along info requested. Monday I get a follow up email with nothing but a greeting and another promise. I replied back asking a detailed price quote and never heard back from anyone. By Wednesday I emailed back the sales Mayans cc'd the general manager. As of today I'm still waiting to receive an email. Salesman called and said over the phone that this dealership does not send price quotes to clients by email because they fear that a client may go to another dealership to try to beat their quote. This is plane stupidity and an easy way to loose a customer. Any other dealership I purchased or made inquiries with had no problems sending me information by email. It almost seems like they try to wrap your head around so bad throwing numbers at you and rush you into making a decisions. A price quote was disclosed over the phone in a voice mail and none of the information required was provided. Dear General Manager, if you are not in the business of selling/leasing cars you should close the doors of your dealership or simply release from duty people working in your establishment who refuse to do the job. The only reason I walked into your dealership is because I wanted to do business with you, but being treated like that, I doubt it.
