I went as a walk in for an ear piercing on a Friday night. They have one full time piercer and one that does piercings when the FT is not working. Cordis is the FT piercer and he is one of the most professional piercers I have encountered. He made sure I was happy with placement long before he pulled out a needle for the piercing. We had a great discussion about anatomy and I walked away with clear instructions on how to care for my piercing. My husband got snakebite piercings here a few months ago and it was a pretty terrible experience. The guy at the front desk was super rude and ignored us for a solid 10 minutes. It reeked of cigarette smoke around the front counter and when he finally did talk to us, he was rude. The woman who did the original piercing was nice, but when my husband went back in to get the temporary bars replaced with permanent rings, they told him he had to wait a couple more weeks and he ended up chipping his tooth on one of the bars that was too long! That alone would have been enough to warrant a 1-star review. However, when we went back, a different person put his lip rings and charged him for jewelry that the first woman told us was included in the price. Overall, the front desk staff was rude, the piercers don't seem to really know how long things need to heal, and it was a bad experience all around. read more

I had a great experience when I came with my Mom and she was tattooed by Chris. My sister and I came in early March to get matching tattoos and Chris was under the weather, so we decided to get tattooed by another artist. Both of ours turned out badly - patchy, the color bled, some color came out completely. It's a shame because this hasn't happened to us with any of the other tattoos we've ever gotten from other places. I'm disappointed, and now have a tattoo on my wrist that needs some help. I don't want to return to the original artist, so I'll do some research and find someone that I can trust to fix them for us - which I know will cost more money. Total bummer! read more

I have to start out by saying that Irezumi Tattoo is better than any, and all the parlors I have ever been to. Great vibes, and Cordis Woods did perfect work on my piercing. The employee MICHAEL was like a "Knight in Shining Armor"!! (He is the really handsome artist, that has cute salt & pepper hair). He saw that me and my crew were having car trouble after our appointment. ​He realized that we were from out of town, but also noticed that we had a toddler, & that my sister was pregnant. He literally spent 1 1/2 hours finding us help and making sure we stayed safe! On top of that, he ​refused to accept any of the money we tried give him to show our gratitude. It's now been one week since I got my tattoo at irezumi and I'm thrilled with the results. Dennis did my tattoo and was very easygoing and polite. I had never gotten a tattoo before and he made sure I was completely comfortable throughout the process. I initially didn't like the sketch of the tattoo so he changed it up a bit and I loved the second version. Since I haven't had any tattoos before I can't compare the healing process to past tattoos but from talking to friends with tattoos and just judging myself it has healed beautifully. It was a little sore for the first couple days as expected and then started to scab a little on the most concentrated areas where there is the most ink. It's currently a bit flaky and is hardly sensitive whatsoever. I'm thrilled with the results and would definitely come back for future tattoos down the road and recommend coming here. read more

I got my lip pierced on both sides. It was fine for like two days but then the swelling ate my piercing and I went in to ask if I could get some help. The guy at the front was extremely rude and the piercer as well. She said I was dumb for getting both sides done at the same time (even though she did it) and she did not have a bigger bar so she would take it out. She had me pay for the jewelry she tried to fit in even though it was the same one I came in with. Then the other side was always infected and just never healed properly so I had to take that one out in the end too. I will never go back here again due to the rudeness and hostility of the staff on the phone and in person. read more

DO NOT GO HERE, NO ONE WANTS A PERMANENT BAD TATTOO!!! I came here for a tattoo and made an appointment at 11am and was told that my appointment was set for 5pm by the front desk attendant. When I got to my appointment the man told me that he could only do one tattoo instead of the two we scheduled because he had someone else behind me. He also continuously pressured me to shrink my son's footprints because he wanted to rush the process for the appointment after me. When the man began the tattoo, I noticed he was tattooing very deeply. I asked for him to tattoo softer because in my experience, anytime a tattoo is done too deeply it heals horribly. He told me that you're supposed to tattoo very deeply so the color will remain. He also asked me whether it was still hurting after I stopped acknowledging his intentional shanking of my skin. After I told him I'd never bled so much from a tattoo he told me I wasn't bleeding as much as I was imagining. When I came in the shop to consult the artist and the owner, I was told it was supposed to look like it does and I just requested a refund. I was told that I can't have the tattoo and my money back and I honestly would've never paid for the tattoo from hell had I have know it would look like this. I began crying because of how emotional I was especially because it's my baby's footprints and was told I can cry all I want and was told to leave. Two of my friends and I went here a couple of weeks ago to get piercings that were done by Cordis. A few days after that one friend's conch piercing fell out, and she went in to get it put back in (which she was charged for which I think is a big red flag) and Devyn told her that Cordis's placement and overall job was off and bad. Then, my other friend who got her tragus done also fell out as well. Then, I went with my sister and I got my vertical labret done with Cordis on Saturday who was struggling to even get it done and 5 days later it falls out. I go to get it put back in with Devyn who then tells me that the placement is bad again and making me feel insecure about a piercing I was pleased with. I asked Devyn if she could put a new septum in for me that I had lost and it cost me $20 to get that put in an already pierced hole and then $10 for my lip piercing to get fixed that was messed up because of them. I did get an eyebrow piercing and my sister got her nose done but now we are reconsidering getting it switched out somewhere else because of the fear of it falling out and being told that the placement is bad. So, if you are considering going here for a piercing please consider that it could fall out not long after and be told that it is basically shit by the other piercer that is supposed to be professional. read more

Don't go to Jason unless you want a colored tattoo.. I told him 5 times I just wanted a black tattoo. He kept asking and asking if i wanted color and I kept saying no thanks, just black. Even after he put the stencil on and I was about to sit down in the chair I said only black. The tattoo was on my back so I couldn't see what was happening, then when I got up to look in the mirror when he was done it was fcking red!! I recommend him to anyone who asks. He has clean lines, is honest about how things could turn out, and gives advice on what will work best. Listen to his advice! I've been here two times before and my tattoos turned out great. However, i came back about a week ago and got a very uneven one done by an artist who almost seemed intoxicated. He told me he was light handed but he was the harshest artist I've ever had tattoo me. I was bleeding like crazy and got the thickest scabs I've ever experienced. I cleaned and moisturized it appropriately and it still got infected due to how deep the needle went. It looks so bad and there is ink missing all over. I have scarring where he went the hardest and it's already faded. Worst tattoo experience of my life. Go somewhere else. read more

I accompanied a friend to get a tattoo from Jesus Campos, with whom she'd made an appointment a week previous. At that time, she'd come in to discuss what she wanted with him, and paid her deposit. She emailed him some designs that she liked at that time, so he could work on it before her appointment. She lives about an hour outside of KC, and timed her work schedule around her appointment, taking the outside estimate of time Jesus said it would take, then adding a bit of a cushion, so she could get the tattoo and get to work on time. We arrived at noon, her appointment time. The man at the front desk, Brendan, was courteous and prompt. He ran upstairs to let Jesus know my friend had arrived for her appointment. About 15 minutes later, Brendan asked us if Jesus had ever come down. No, we hadn't seen him. So Brendan gave my friend the paperwork to fill out, and he went back up to talk to Jesus again. At 12:27, we start feeling uncomfortable. Jesus is a half-hour late for the appointment, and we haven't seen or heard anything from him. It's feeling really fishy, and Friend's window of time is starting to close, and the last thing she wants is a rush job. Brendan goes back upstairs for Jesus again. At 12:50, we've decided that Jesus is, at the very best, disrespectful of her time, and that this is not someone we want to do any work on her. Finally, he comes down, and greets us, but is already defensive and ill-tempered. He tells Friend, "I'm working on your design now." She says, "We had an appointment for noon today." Jesus replies, "I'm an artist. It takes time." She reminds him that he had a week to prepare. He tells her, "I'm very busy. I didn't have time before today." She responds that we all have jobs that we have to be on time for, he is no exception. Jesus continued to talk to her very condescendingly, telling her that she didn't know what she was talking about. When I stepped in to the conversation to let him know that I, too, am an artist, he retorted, "Oh yeah? Do you make money at it?" Because THAT'S how you want to keep a customer? By trying to belittle them? So I let him know that, not only do I make ALL my money from my art, I also know that if I'm given a deposit, and I'm not prepared for the job when it's time, I don't get to keep that job. He shot back with, "Well, why don't YOU design her tattoo then?" So, of course, this is no way to treat a customer, especially when the result lasts a lifetime. My friend asked for her deposit back. Jesus told her, no, that was non-refundable. She said, "It was a good faith down payment, so you'd be prepared for my appointment, and you're not. You did not earn that money." Jesus angrily pulled out his wallet, shoved $40 at her, and stormed away. We thanked Brendan for trying to help. He tried his best, but there's no way he could come close to repairing the damage that Jesus was doing. We left, and went to Windhorse Tattoo, where they were very warm and welcoming, and my friend got exactly the tattoo she was hoping for. The experience was lovely there, so we'll be recommending them instead of Irezumi. Because if Irezumi is happy to keep someone as rude and irresponsible as Jesus on staff, then I don't know what else they'd be okay with, so we're warning others not to take that risk. read more

I came as moral support with a friend and her daughter who wanted a nose piercing. While there, I decided to re-pierce my tragus. Devin was wonderfully patient, kind, conversational, and good at her trade. When I knocked off the front of the stud while cleansing a week and a half later, I returned for new jewelry, with which she was happy to help me, and I ended up leaving with a new conch piercing. She's not closest to where I live but she is definitely one of my favorite piercers, so I will go back to work on the other ear when I'm home next. read more
