There was a solid waxing chain where I was living prior and my new place had a lot to live up to. I was initially scared shitless by the reviews of this place and others in the area enough that I started waxing MYSELF. That peasant shit wasn't going to cut it for an upcoming trip to Bali and I used that as my icebreaker to get this done professionally in Westchester. This place was close enough to my house and tbh GF had already decided we were getting it done here so it was settled. I made an appointment for the day before my flight. Many of the reviews recount horror stories of missing their appointments due to being marginally late so I literally arrived 20 min early to avoid that issue. I wanted to go to CVS but I wasn't about to take any chances. I walked into the place at a socially acceptable five minutes early and the lady at the desk wasn't nearly as scary as others have suggested in prior reviews. I would actually go as far as to say she was a standard amount of friendly. I was pleased to be taken early with essentially no waiting. The girl who did my waxing was very nice as well and chatted me up during the whole thing which helped the time pass. In contrast to my previous wax place, they use this purple hard wax which I rather like. It went very quickly and was minimally painful. The only reason for the four stars is because I did notice some patches that were missed later on but, full disclosure, she gave me an opportunity to evaluate her work before leaving and I trusted everything was good enough. Also, I was ready to GTFO. I'd come back.

This was the last straw for me…read more I drove all the way to the Bedford Hills location for what I understood was my scheduled appointment after being contacted about changing my appointment time. When I arrived, I was told my appointment had never actually been changed and was still listed for an earlier time. Instead of trying to fix the situation, I was simply told they couldn't take me. There was no real attempt to accommodate me, squeeze me in, offer a coupon, or make up for the inconvenience. I was offered another appointment on a different day even after explaining that I was leaving for vacation shortly and today was my only opportunity. This location is not close to my house, so I wasted my time and gas driving there for nothing. What made it even more frustrating was the lack of empathy. I left feeling like my time didn't matter. Unfortunately, this isn't even my first scheduling issue with this location, and I've had friends experience scheduling problems there as well. At this point, the service feels inconsistent and unprofessional. Ironically, I ended up finding a local waxing boutique that fit me in the same day, was much closer to home, and charged less than EWC. That made me realize there's no reason for me to keep driving out of my way and paying more when there are businesses that provide better customer service. I won't be returning to this location, and I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience.

The owner was there as well and we discussed some options for "saving" my length and hair. I showed them many examples of what i wanted and we ordered the extension/weft hair. When i came back for the weft install, they could not seem to get my color to match the extension hair (but only in certain spots, see photos for patchy dye job). I had the wefts in less than a week (zero amount of purple shampoo could match these two colors together) when i called asking "what can be done to match my hair to these extensions i just paid a fortune for?!" No options were offered. As a matter of fact, they told me they shutdown for vacation for the next ten days. I said "can i come and have my real hair cut, i will remove the weft myself. It looks too ridiculous to walk around in", so again (after $1000 spent, ZERO options were offered). I cut the wefts out myself and came in for a haircut. I figured since i CAME to them with damaged hair i should give them another chance, incase this was the other salons poor color job or even my own miscommunication. Once again, my hair was bright yellow after showing them white/silver hair. My natural dark blonde hair has zero issue reaching a level 10 in a single process, so the fact that my already lightened hair could not achieve a level 10 color without yellow was their error. I was also there for over SIX hours for a 1/2 head of root touchup (something that took my new salon 90 minutes with a blow dry). You would think after having had been in their salon for many hours between a consult and weft installation that i MADE SURE they knew was incorrect, they would make more of an effort to get my color right this time. However, as soon as Noelle started drying my hair, again it was yellow. She consulted with Stephanie who decided to DOUBLE PROCESS my damaged hair due to their mistake. Their response? "This was the same formula i used last time!" Oh? You mean the last time it was wrong and i removed $1000 extensions on my own after 7 days bc you couldn't be bothered to retone my hair? Clients beware. This was nothing short of a money grab. The sad part is, between my horrible extension job, second chance at color and bringing my daughter, i spent over $1500 at this salon in TWO months. Save your time, money and energy and find a salon with experienced hair stylists -- this ISNT it. ETA (since i can't reply to comments) -- the only truth to the owners response is the dates. Congrats, i also have a calendar. My weft was NOT removed prior to me calling to express it did not match. It was removed once nothing was offered to back up your week-old botched dye job. The discontinued use of purple shampoo was also NEVER discussed, in fact, it was encouraged when i called to say the tones were completely mismatched. When i realized this was the only "solution" you would offer to back up your work, i learned how to take it out myself. Which i TOLD Noelle over the phone i would do if there was no fix. The fact that you are writing i took it out before calling is a flat out LIE. Backed up by the fact that Stephanie had a full tray of pliers, scissors and items to remove the weft when i came in for the haircut. A client that was leaving even asked me if i "was the extension client they were getting ready for". So which is it? I also would never have had any issues with the agreed upon pricing if the services i paid for were of quality, which they were not. OR, if i was given a realistic expectation such as "this will take a few times to fix", neither occurred. During my consultation, i was lead to believe i had a very achievable desired outcome. So, a money grab is actually the perfect description of what happened here. Regardless of the length of my ROOT re-touch, the TONE of my hair was completely wrong a SECOND time. If this was just about the root retouch (which took about 3 hours) i would have been fine. It was Noelle's ERROR that lead to me being double processed and there for an ADDITIONAL 3 hours (all of which you, the owner, were gone for a wedding). So to act as if you know what occurred when you weren't there is about as laughable as how much pride you take in your salons "work". I went from Sept 28-November 25 (the same amount of time between my 2 color appointments at your salon) and was able to achieve exactly what i wanted elsewhere. So let's call this what it IS, a skill issue. And what's interesting is the lecture in hair health from a salon that unnecessarily double processed my hair, instead of just using the correct toner. Hopefully this review serves as a warning for others and they do not waste their money on inexperienced stylists.

I've been coming to this salon for many years, and I've never had a problem until now (which is why…read moreI'm giving the salon 2 stars instead of 1). I hate leaving negative reviews, but this experience was truly awful. I made an appointment to get a dip manicure and ended up having to return a week later to get them redone. I've been getting dip manicures for approximately 6 years at other salons, so I would say I'm pretty well-versed in the process and know what to expect. Unfortunately, my manicure was awful. The first manicure: Instead of soaking the previous dip off, my nail tech only used the electric drill. Some salons do this, so I wasn't too concerned. However, she drilled way too much, to the point where I was in a lot of pain and felt an intense burning sensation. I indicated that she was hurting me, and she lowered the intensity of the drill, but she left all of my nails extremely thin and in pain. That has never happened to me before. Also, my nail tech did not apply a top coat; she used the adhesive that she had been applying between layers of powder (I know this because the glue bottle never left her hand). While waiting for my nails to dry, the nail tech kept touching my nails, which left noticeable fingerprints in all of them. Instead of dipping my nails in the powder, she spooned the powder on top of my nails. Unsurprisingly, all 10 of my nails either cracked or chipped within 24 hours. Usually, a dip manicure lasts me 4 weeks. This manicure didn't last a day. Some of my nails chipped so badly that it took part of my nail with it. I called Gina to let her know what was happening, and she immediately offered to redo my manicure for free, which I was very grateful for. Second manicure: I went back to the salon to get my manicure redone a week later (I had work and couldn't do it any sooner than that). When I re-explained what had happened (specifically the lack of top coat), Gina denied it and insisted that my nail tech had used a top coat. She then started filing off the old dip using the drill, causing the cuticles on 5 of my fingers to bleed. I asked her to soak the dip off instead, so she soaked 2 of my nails. I assumed she would soak the rest, but she didn't. Instead, she started applying the new dip on top of the old dip. I asked her to please remove the old dip before doing the new manicure, and she told me not to worry because she would just file everything at the end and "make it even." I was very confused. Even though the new manicure is 24 hours old in the attached pictures, there is significant growth near the cuticles because Gina redid the manicure starting where the old manicure was instead of doing an entirely new manicure from the cuticle edge. Because I asked for clear dip, you can also see the cracks in the old dip underneath the new dip. Additionally, Gina cut all of my nails really short, even though I said I wanted to keep them long. I asked for pointy almond, but instead I got what looks to be round. I'm really shocked at the quality of both of these manicures. Like I said, I've been going to this salon for many years and have never had a problem. This is the first time I've done dip at this salon. It really seems like they are not confident in the dip techniques. I have genuinely never had a worse manicure than this. Although I'm thankful that Gina offered to redo the manicure, I am not happy with the results. I don't think I can come back here for a dip manicure again.
