Trying Out Funky Colored Contact Lenses for the 1st Time! ...I Don't Even Have a Prescription! Very Friendly, Helpful & Very Informative Service.
I have never had or needed an eye prescription so was a bit lost on how to get decent colored contact lenses. I have zombie contact lenses that although I use when occasion calls, I find them quite irritating after only a few short hours and I knew I wanted better quality for any color lenses I would consider wearing regularly. With MSP and work benefits the optometrist visit was covered so I figured I might as well use my benefits to see if I would need a prescription since it has been over a decade since having an exam anyways and you need to have an exam for an optometrist to sell you colored contacts. And if I had needed a prescription, then my benefits would also have cover my colored contacts just the same as it would a regular prescription.
I am so happy I went to see IRIS even though I did not end up requiring a prescription that I could bill to my work benefits lol. They gave me lots of great advice, which I needed getting started with real contacts for the 1st time and they also gave me several color samples!!! This was huge! I didn't realize that there were so many types and slight variations of options and how one brand would fit or feel so differently from another and especially how some pop out more than others. I might have never discovered these differences if I hadn't went to IRIS to get an eye exam and inquire about getting contacts. The color lenses that I thought I'd like the most were the ones that didn't show up very well in my eyes and were also the ones that irritated my eyes the most. Those would have been the ones I would have bought had I not had an eye exam and gotten several samples from them to try. I love the colors I never would have thought that I would and I only discovered I liked them because IRIS gave me samples to try.
I am admittedly a pretty dedicated online shopper for most cosmetic products which these technically are for me. I made the decision to go to IRIS to save money, find a better quality product and get advice on something relatively new to me and IRIS fulfilled all of these things and much more.
I would have probably bought several boxes of contacts and wasted loads of money and time on trying colors and styles to find one I like had I not just went to IRIS in the first place to get set up properly. They saved me lots of money and made it fun and something I'm confident and knowledgeable about now. I will be buying my contacts from IRIS as a result of their great service and because the rates are very competitive with online pricing and I am more confident purchasing from a licensed optometrist that I can trust to stand behind the products they sell. These are my eyes. I don't want to screw around and I am so happy I didn't.
Of course, unlike the post prior to mine, I understand that IRIS is a business and not a charity. Do you go into restaurants without money, say you are hungry and when they refuse to serve you since you cannot pay, you criticize them for not caring about your hunger? Go to emergency... oh wait they would ask you to fill out essential medical forms too prior to assisting you. And you would also need to pay if you don't have MSP anyways. And probably much more using up hospital services. And you would wait several hours before they would help you. Things cost money in the real world. A business should not have to sit with a 1 star rating because bums without money complain they couldn't get things for free from them. read more
