Being an experienced homeowner, I requested the manager (Blake over all 911 Restoration) send a competent technician so it would be repaired correctly. Blake assured me the technician was highly skilled. Fortunately for me, I was in town and was able to see the poor work the technician did. The dehumidification equipment was set up inappropriately. The wet wood would have taken several more days (and several $100s more charged by 911 Restorations) to dry. The antifungal treatment was piss-poor. The tech literally did a few squirts of thyme oil, and he didn't even get the wet and dark areas, where the mold would be more likely to grow. Overall, very disappointed in the technician's skills and pissed off at myself for falling for Blake's charming nature. He is not honest. Beware.

I found him to be manipulative and unprofessional and, in my opinion, took advantage of my difficult personal circumstances. In Dec 2017, just weeks after losing my mom and sister and months after moving into my beautiful new home, I discovered a water leak that caused significant damage to my kitchen and multiple rooms. I initiated a claim with my insurance company, and began gathering quotes from three separate contractors -- one of whom was Darryl Huie. His initial demeanor was overly eager and persistent. Despite not being awarded the project, he repeatedly inserted himself into the process, including contacting my insurance adjuster without my consent, showing up to my property unannounced, and calling, emailing, and texting me constantly. I was grieving, overwhelmed, and traveling frequently for work and trying to get my family affairs in order, so I allowed limited access to my home strictly for estimation purposes. Not for any actual work. Darryl claimed that even if I didn't move forward with certain repairs, I was still obligated to pay him the entire labor amount my insurance company had awarded, even for work he wasn't doing. He warned me that I could be reported for insurance fraud if I didn't hand over all the funds to a licensed contractor (i.e., him). In my opinion, he used my inexperience with the insurance process to pressure and intimidate me, which I now see as taking advantage of my vulnerable situation. When I declined to move forward, he entered my home without permission while I was traveling and removed the granite countertop, then claimed it broke due to a "preexisting condition" which would have to be filed under a second claim. He later attempted to manipulate the situation by suggesting he could help get it covered under the initial claim if I gave him the job. I considered this a serious ethical violation and reported it to my insurer. When I returned home, I found my road bike missing from the garage and the broken granite left behind. I then received a $1,200 invoice for "services" for removal of the granite countertop, which I never approved. He eventually sued me in small claims court, falsely asserting we had a verbal agreement. Fortunately, I documented everything, and the judge dismissed the case. Years later, he resurfaced and sent me a disturbing message through Facebook filled with personal attacks, prompting me to finally share this experience. At the time, I didn't have the energy to speak up. I do now. After writing an honest review on Yelp, a man claiming to be his "friend, who happens to be a lawyer," began calling me at work, emailing my personal and work emails. I consider this behavior to be harassing, and I want no further contact. If you are considering working with this contractor, I strongly urge you to proceed with caution. This review is based entirely on my personal experience and supported by court records, insurance documentation, and extensive written communication.

My AC malfunctioned on a hot day causing water to leak into the attic floor and it came out of my ceiling. I caught it in time! I filed a claim with my insurance company- State Farm - who referred me to two big water damage mitigation vendors - ServePRO and ServiceMaster. ServePRO told me I would need the ceiling removed before they even came out to see the damage. They did a visual inspection, used no meters and did not go into the attic and said the whole thing needed to be removed. They were a "preferred vendor." ServePRO also said I would need other contractors for the reconstruction work and that would take at least a few weeks. And ServiceMaster demanded an asbestos test before they even did anything which would add weeks. Dave and Santos from Flood Relief Inc did both visual and electronic meter inspections, and they found the water had been confined to one small area and never reached the walls. They also inspected the floor and found it was also fine since I caught the leak in time. (ServePRO was trying to take photos of the floor when I told them there was no damage there!) Luckily, FloodRelief concluded the damage was so minimal that no ceiling areas needed to be removed. They are able to treat the area with antimicrobial agents and dry the structure with huge fans and dehumidifiers. They also told me the job was so small that they wouldn't even need charge me what the deductible was for the insurance claim so I was able to cancel the claim. This was a very honest move since they would have been paid much more by my insurance company if they had recommended removal. These two gentlemen also came right away when I called and were so friendly and respectful and professional. I am extremely grateful to these honest guys who saved me money, time and sanity. They put me at ease during a stressful situation. I was very impressed with their stellar service! Out of 10, FloodRelief, Inc. is an 11.

About 2 weeks into their trip, my brother and I discovered that their entire first floor was flooded due to a high-pressure leak in a downstairs bathroom. Based on some outside surveillance footage and meter information, we estimated that it had been leaking a few thousand gallons a day for 3-4 days. My brother and I were just dumbstruck and overwhelmed by what this meant for the house. All the hardwood flooring, walls, base moldings, cabinetry, furniture had all been soaking for days. Water was literally seeping out through all the outer walls of the house. The formal living room, which is situated a step down and is about 5 inches lower than the rest of the house, had become a reflecting pool holding about 1000 gallons of water. (I'll try to include pictures) My brother did a google search and we found Dave, and we're really glad we did. Despite that it was already Friday evening, he arrived within the hour. As soon as he got out of his van, he was focused on taking away our stress and calmly informed us about the next steps and what we could expect throughout the process. He immediately took control of the situation and he and his team worked tirelessly through the evening and late into the night to vacuum up all the free water. And he was back bright and early the next day.  Throughout the next week or so, Dave and his team thoroughly dried the walls and the floors and demolished and pulled out whatever wasn't salvageable. They were meticulous and cleaned as they went and tried to make it as comfortable for me as possible since I decided to stay over while all of this was going on. They found some mold as well as a dead colony of bees, a dead bird, and some trash from the initial builders inside of our walls and he carefully cleaned and remediated as needed. Dave dealt with the contents company, the environmental inspection firm (checking for mold), and our insurance company so that it was pretty effortless and seamless for us.  From what we could tell, Dave was a consummate professional. That was further confirmed by our insurance company. Once Dave's work was completely finished, the insurance company sent out an adjuster and a contractor to inspect and to complete their estimates. Dave was there to help answer their questions since he knew the layout and the problems better than any of us at that point. After Dave left, they commented that his work was really thorough and that they could tell Flood Relief Inc was really trustworthy and top-notch. So... even the professionals were impressed. To top it all off, despite that Dave's company finished its work at my parents house in October of 2017, because of some delays from the insurance company, Dave only just got paid this month in February 2018. Dave was patient and never bothered us personally with this. We're so grateful that we had Dave during what could've been an otherwise very stressful time. Had a bad leak between walls of 2 of my units in San Clemente. Leak was discovered on 9-7-23 and…read moredue to shoddy work from Servpro, is still going on 6 months later. I am not getting rent "again" on this 2nd attached unit, and needless to say, my property manager and I are very angry. The 1st unit took about 5 months of testing, remediation and restoration. All went as expected until SERVPRO began their restoration. Had to call and have them come back a few times to complete work as required. Then, they started the 2nd unit in January, and after all testing for asbestos, they began pulling out the wall to wall master bath sink and broke the mirrors that were beautiful wrap-around mirrors. They replaced drywall behind the sinks and put the cabinets back "that now angle toward the back of the sink" not straight, and never put any backsplash on sinks. Took shower doors outside but still have never brought them back. Replaced all mirrors with 2 small black rimmed mirrors.. and now, moisture that was under the tiles since last year are smelling and appear to be moldy - Tenant says they stink and will continue not paying rent until he can use his only bathroom again.
