Been coming to Iron Age for 4 years, but today was the day we got the best and the fastest service. Shout out to Ricky!!

This is very easily my favorite restaurant and worth the 30min drive (an hour in traffic) to eat at. The price is perfect and I often tip WAY more than what's expected. I'm disabled and cannot use my hands very well anymore. I always ask the waiter, as soon as I sit down, if they'd be comfortable cutting & cooking my food for me because I can't handle the tongs/scissors correctly. They always say no problem and I know they don't expect a large tip but I do it anyway because I'm so appreciative. The Iron Age steak and Hawaiian Bulgogi are my favorites. Oh! And the rice! The yellow sauce with the rice is my favorite thing there. I know that sounds stupid but that yellow sauce is incredible. I use it for everything. I go thru many refills of that sauce. The inside of the restaurant is very nicely set up. The tables are lined up back to back but there's a short wall behind each table leading to the next. They have a few tables that are half booth half chairs. I usually sit there because it gives me somewhere to park my walker. They always have KPop music & music videos playing on the large screen up above. They even have a bar! They were advertising new summer drinks when I was in there last. I recently visited Iron Age and had such a great experience. The atmosphere was lively, the grill stayed hot the entire time, and the service kept things moving so we were never waiting long between rounds. It's definitely a fun spot whether you're going for a date night or with a group. For meats, my favorites were the seasoned steak, soy pork bulgogi, and the Hawaiian bulgogi -- all were well-marinated, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You really can't go wrong with any of those. The sides were just as good and really completed the meal. I especially enjoyed the grilled veggies, kimchi, and the cheese cream corn (which was super creamy and a standout). Also, don't skip the lemon drops -- they were really good and paired well with the whole experience. Overall, this is one of my go-to Korean BBQ spots in the area. Our #1 Korean BBQ spot. We have tried Numerous other Korean BBQ places, but this is our favorite. AYCE around $35 dollars a person. Their sauces are awesome, my favorite is the sesame oil and salt and pepper blend. Their best side is their spicy rice cakes! We are in love with the Beef Bulgolgi and the Iron Age Marinated Steak! The room is dark with awesome lighting. K pop is on all the TVs and speakers. You cook your own food, but the servers assist you as needed and change out your grates to prevent cross contamination. Well worth the drive to Catonsville if you love Korean BBQ. read more

Haven't been here in a bit; but finally coming back, some things have definitely changed. The marinade on some of the meats are definitely different than the pre-covid versions of the dishes. You still get large portions of the meat and sides. It is cook at your own table. There was no more bday shouting and bottles ran thru the restaurant when we were there for 1.5 hrs. Service was definitely good, just might need a little bit more quantity of items coming out when it gets busier cuz servers cant come nearly as often to the table. Also where's the japchae?!?! The waiting was long since it was Valentine's Day, however it wasn't as long as in other places. The staff was pretty welcoming and helped us from start to beginning with an excellent mood. Iron Age in Maryland? While I'm used to going to the Iron Age locations in Northern Virginia, I was up north visiting friends while we decided to try out Iron Age for dinner. Pretty much if it's dinner time, there's going to be a rush and a long wait. We did wait about 30-45 minutes but we were able to pass the time by visiting the food court next door. Pretty much Iron Age offers what you'd expect from most KBBQ places. You got meats and small dishes (banchan) that you can eat to your heart's content within 90 minutes. That's pretty good if you are someone that loves protein! If there's any downside, the music is a bit loud so sometimes it's hard to hear what the server or your friends are saying. read more

My first time here and definitely not the last. Everything was delicious including the fermented radishes. I was surprised that my 5 year old and I enjoyed it. We tried the chicken, brisket, pork, and bulgogi beef. All of the meats were flavored well and tender. My only wish is that they offered boba. Our server Winny was amazing! read more

With all the Korean BBQ options in the area, that's truly no reason to come here. The meat cuts are not good, lots of fat & very stringy, so it cooks unevenly. For a table of 4 we were given one very small side dish, and could not request more unless the dish was empty- but it was only enough for one person. I have not encountered service this bad in a long time. We asked for things (sides dishes, drinks, etc) and they would just never come. Our waiter, a young man, acted as if he knew he was getting auto-gratuity. He was dismissive, rude, and continuously ignored our requests. Iron Age is consistently a very great experience. It's perfect for date night, celebrations, and just a good vibe with friends. Eating here can definitely get pricey if you add in alcohol and your party is 4 or more (it's an automatic 18% gratuity for 4 or more ) . Food was average imo. Cheaper meat in great marinades. The salad dressing was amazing. Service was very good, almost to a fault. Like over attentive at times. It seemed like they turn the grill up and down to control how much you eat. It didn't bother us as we weren't in it for quantity. It has a cool ambiance but I could definitely do without the blaring K-pop. We did it for the experience but wouldn't go back. Sometimes the experience is great and sometimes it's mehhhh. It just depends on the night the staff is having. Please be sure your entire party is present to be seated. You have 90 min for an unlimited experience. Be cautious as if you waste food you will be charged. There's a plethora of options in terms of meats to select. Dinner seems to have a larger variety. For a first time try i recommend visiting during lunch as it can be less intense of an experience and easier on the pockets lol. If you're an expert at Korean bbq then come for dinner. It's worth it. They have a fully stocked bar with lots of options. It's a great birthday place. Gratuity is charged automatically for 6 or more. The price is predicted to increase in the new year (2025) so run to Iron Age while it's still reasonable. read more

We had a new waiter named Andy. He would only give us one serving of meat at a time. We'd always received two servings of meat in the past for a party of three so we could cook seasoned steak and Bulgogi meat at the same time. He was also quite overwhelmed, so he wasn't checking back on us as often as he should have. At the 80 minute mark, we ordered our last order of meat knowing it would be a single order again. Andy refused saying we didn't have enough time to cook the meat and eat within the 90 minute window. This is the first time we've stayed this long but again he's serving us a single portion of meat where every other server in the past has always given us two servings of meat at the same time, often cooking a seasoned steak and a Bulgogi steak at the same time. Regardless, this is the second time in my adult life I refused to leave a tip. Hopefully Andy will take that as encouragement to learn how to do his job better and to give the appropriate amount of meat or follow up. read more

Always wanted to try Iron Age for Korean BBQ as I heard so much about it. This was our chance to try during a planned double date. The restaurant has a bar and was pretty crowded on a Saturday night to be expected. We had reservations and as the sign stated your entire party has to be present before being seated. They have large TV's throughout the restaurant with Korean music videos playing combined with sparklers for singing Happy Birthday brings a very noisy atmosphere. We chose I believe 4 meats including shrimps to cook. All of the dipping sauces were really good but, the ginger one was my favorite. I really was not impressed with kimchi. It was my first time tasting it and it was not my cup of tea. I believe they give you 90mins for a total length of seating time however, I didn't feel rushed. With they being said we had to turn the fire up to cook the food a little faster to keep close to the time. My only feedback was they do not have any sushi at this particular restaurant. #Bummer. With all the meat they have to choose from I think they need to have a better variety of sides. All in all I will return and definitely check out other locations for sushi. read more

Trend in our family is we visit once a year which always fall in the month of February. Beef bulgogi is my top pick with rice, kimchi, & salad!!! We tried the pork belly but it was our taste. It was unseasoned which probably added to the deference. We went on a Saturday & there was a wait. The cool thing is they text you a link and you can periodically check to see where you are at in the line. We got a perfect spot in the booths. Our waiter was nice and brought food out quickly! Came here for a birthday dinner for two of my girlfriends... we had an absolutely amazing dine in time and the food was great! So it's an all you can eat Korean barbecue place, HOWEVER, you can only order two meats at a time (not per person but for the whole table). I wasn't the biggest fan of that but we made it work. The bulgogi is always a fan favorite with the teriyaki sauce. Service was great! Our server was super cool and made sure our experience was fun. Ambiance caught me by surprise! If you've ever been to honey pig, this is like that but a lot nicer. Booth tables only(from what I saw). We got 3 bottles of soju- 1) peach 2) green apple 3) grape. Trust me, get the peach! BIRTHDAY- If you are coming to celebrate a birthday, they DO offer a happy birthday chant and cake, HOWEVER, it must be 3 days from/after your birthday (I believe thats what he said). The manager's conduct was highly unprofessional and appeared motivated by unnecessary greed. I visited on Wednesday night when the restaurant was nearly empty. Despite this, after we had stopped eating for only about 30 minutes and while still enjoying our time, the manager told the server to ask us to move to the bar so they could free up the table. This was requested even though there were no guests waiting to be seated and numerous tables were available. We were only at the restaurant for an hour and a half. This is an all you can eat Korean BBQ and all side dishes are included in your price! My favorite of their side dishes were the rice cakes! It is 90 mins from the start of your first meat order. Our waiter was very attentive and although you have to cook the meat yourself, he helped us out when he saw we were struggling. He was always stopping by after we finished our current meat and asking us what our next meat order would be! Just beware that not all meats can be cooked together. Not bad, it is an AYCE spot so don't go here expecting high quality meats or anything like that. IA is great for people new to KBBQ, have large parties or just want endless amounts of meat. They offer a great selection of different cuts and whether it is good or not is another story. We often steer away from marinated meats but I do really like the spicy pork but often choose to stick with the brisket and/or pork belly. They have different sauces you can dip in and have a good selection of side dishes. They did not offer any rice cake though when I went which I was looking forward to. Cooking wise, you can certainly take the lead on this if you like but they do have people coming around to cook for you if you also prefer that. When I went, the server asked for our preference so share that at that time. Parking wise, there is a huge lot so no need to worry about that. For those that are coming with people that are typically late, they do require the FULL party is there before they seat you. Iron age is literally my favorite place in the world. I have never had a bad experience at this location and I highly recommend to anyone who likes Korean flavors. They do not take reservations and the wait time can vary so always come earlier. They have a full service bar. Its all you can eat meats and small dishes (kimchi, rice, japchae, steamed egg, rice cakes, salad, various pickled radishes). Everything is well seasoned and the meats are very tender. We arrived around 10pm and we still had a 30-45min wait. I don't think they do reservations if they do my daughter and I need to have a discussion lol. It was quite crowded for this hour so I can imagine how it is during day time hours. Our server was very attentive and explained everything to us well me since it was my first time. For $30 bucks you can go wrong with all you can eat which included some sides most places charge for. We tried several items and our least favorite was the lemon chicken it took a long time to cook and it didn't taste like anything. The second round of beef bulgogi was not as good as the first very chewy and lacked flavor tasted like brisket but who knows.
