New Management (as of January 2025)! Premium K-BBQ quality, abundance of side dishes, hospital servers and home style cooked meals! Great location in Ellicott City, large parking lot space, and if you're party is down for round two there is a Korean bar right next to it (Rainpia)! Update (03/2025) No Tip Special Monday-Friday until 4PM!

Ox bone soup... they forgot to put the meat in and it was flavorless

So I just ordered from here through Grub Hub. Food came perfectly packed and all was piping hot. I ordered the ox bone soup and the marinated galbi. It came with 3 decent sized sides that were different and not a variation of the same thing. Unlike the popular Korean bbq place that I don't name, I actually got a hefty serving that could have easily fed 2 people and they both be full. My soup was humongous. I definitely got my money's worth. Oh I forgot to mention the most important thing.... Everything was fresh AND delicious. I'm really impressed. This has been marked as a favorite. I will be ordering from here again and hope to visit the actual restaurant when covid numbers go down. Update: The ox bone soup was disgusting. No flavor and no ox bone. Just a sliver of meat. Maybe a forkful. I tried to add salt & seasonings. Bleh. The other soups maybe great but this is not. Unsure what it came up as a popular order.

The food here is amazing and super authentic. I believe they are under new management as of recent. I really enjoyed the marinated galbi and beef brisket for KBBQ. The porkbelly is also very good. The KBBQ comes complimentary with steamed egg and soybean paste soup -- both absolutely delicious. I ate until my stomach was about to burst. I would just come here for the ban Chan alone. I highly recommend trying this place out to satisfy that kbbq craving. I've also seen people have huge parties in seperate rooms, and looks like a great place to host large gatherings.

Let's keep this simple. They are not cleaning there vegetables properly. Bugs are not cleaned off. The 2 ladies admit they knew exactly where the bug was from. I'm assuming this has happend before. If it's a ingredient they know bugs are coming from they should stop using the ingredient. It's not even a ingredient found in budae jjigae typically. First time for me having watercress in Korean army stew (budae jjigae). I never been so sick and grossed out. I was at the tail end of my "budae jjigae" in my bowl aka Korean army stew. I flipped over a hotdog and a bug was attached to the hot dog. This restaurant was mentioned in a Facebook group "Howard county eats". Someone mentioned it was under new management and it was good. I beg to differ.

TIP: Must try traditional Korean BBQ. Ask them to grill the bone from the Galbi (yes, I'm recommending you order Galbi), in the back for you to enjoy at your table. Order rice separately. Don't miss out on this hidden gem! The environment is welcoming, the service is great and the food is amazing! ORDER: * Galbi * Marinated tender beef with powerful yet delicious mouthwatering flavor that pairs great with white rice and sides. * Spicy Pork Belly * Medium spice tender pork belly strips. The level of spice is not excruciation to the point you need a drink water to cool down. It is a perfect level of spice that allows you to enjoy the meat without breaking a sweat. * Japchae * Clear glass noodles accompanied with mixed vegetables and a delicate hint of sweet flavor - it's not sweet like dessert. Trust me, this is something you'll want to grub on with your meat and rice. Japchae is my all time favorite and a must have when eating Korean food. SIDES: All the sides come with the meals for the table to share. Think of it as appetizers yet they go great with your meal. If you finish the sides before your meal comes out, kindly ask for more. * Kim Chee * Radish * Seaweed * Spicy Cucumber * Bean Sprouts * Garlic * Jalapeño * Lettuce * Hot Sauce * SERVICE: We were immediately greeted as we entered the restaurant. The lady asked if we'd be ordering Korean BBQ and sat us at a table with a grilled stove top. She asked us if we'd like hot tea or water and immediately brought us our pick. Our order was taken with ease and food was brought out and cooked to perfection. There are service buttons in the table if you find the need to get the waitress' attention. LOCATION/FACILITY: This is located off Route 40/Baltimore National Pike in a shopping center like area full of restaurants. You can find this gem on the second floor in the middle corner of the entire building. PARKING: Free parking lot SEATING: Ample amount of seating COVID-19: [October 2020] Due to the current pandemic; some of the utensils and cups were disposable. They take your temperature and distance the seating of customers. Out of all the Korean restaurants in Ellicott City, let alone Howard County, this is my favorite. It is traditional and the restaurant has a warm homy feeling to me.

    Mul naengmyeon
    Mike M.

Lol, good thing I didn't look this place up! I grabbed a haircut nearby and asked the stylist if she knew of any good naengmyeon places nearby. She pointed me here and I'm glad she did! The mul naengmyeon was insanely satisfying and the banchan was also some of the best I've had in the DC area... I'm a firm believer that restaurants should be judged on their food. Clearly others on this app don't see it that way...

    Sashimi
    Jane P.

I got their large sashimi combination and it was pretty good. I was craving sashimi so badly and my go-to place was under construction, so my family and I ended up at this place. I was pleasantly surprised with the food we got because when we walked in the huge restaurant, it was basically empty. So I was expecting the worst. The service was decent and they were attentive to our needs. The sashimi was good and the combination came with a lot of extra stuff. It came with a fish stew, two Korean pancakes, pan fried fish, delicious Korean side dishes, eggs, and a creamy sweet corn casserole. All this was only 100$. I thought the price was decent for the amount of food we got. We couldn't even touch the fish stew and there were still some sashimi left at the end of our meal. I would say the large platter would be perfect for 4 people. Got to get my raw fish craving satisfied from here:)

We tried out a combo meal of 6 with ribeye, sirloin, mainly beef. The servers also grilled and cut all the meats for us which is nice. All side dishes are pretty standard like most other Korean restaurants. A delicious bowl of steam eggs came with the meal, wish they would at least offer two bowls for a party of 6 and surprisingly no rice came with the combo. We had to add an extra order of steak and seafood pancake since no one was really full with the combo. I would say this place is for those who have high expectations of fresh & premium meats. You will not be stuff or over indulged because it can be quite pricey. Our bill with tips & taxes was about $55 per person. It's a bit pricey for lunch and I wasn't even full. If you never been to this restaurant before, I recommend that you try it out at least once but I don't think we will be back here anytime soon.

The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly and checked in on us often to make sure we didn't need anything. The food was delicious and fresh. Details: They are located in the route 40 shopping center area near HoneyPig/EC Diner and the venue is a pretty modest sized location. There's still a decent amount of seating (standard table and chairs) with small-ish bathrooms. The menu items range from like mid 10s to mid 20s on average depending on what kind of protein you're ordering. The portion sizes are pretty generous. I think my favorite menu item we tried was the snowflake dumpling. Very aesthetically pleasing, but also tasty and crispy. The banchan (side dishes) were fresh. As far as the flavors go, I was happy with all the entrees. The dishes had the depth of flavors you hope for when you eat soup like these. The meats were also tender and well cooked too. The space itself is really small and definitely gets busy, so be prepared for a bit of a wait or tight seating. Prices are also on the higher side (around $20 per dish), which adds to the expectations. I will say, the service was warm and friendly, which I appreciated. Given the various Korean restaurants in the area, I must say that this place is a great spot for family, friends and group gatherings. The food here is very fresh and the staff are very friendly. We ordered various dishes from their LA Galbi, Bossam, Fish and tofu soup combo, seafood pancake, spicy pork and their rice cake soup. The LA Galbi was the best we had in town. Tons of flavor and the meat was juicy and meaty. The Bossam was delicious. Pork was tender and comes with sides to help you bring out the flavor of the dish. Definitely ask for their bean sauce and slices of jalapeño and fresh raw garlic. The fish and tofu soup is really good and can be shared with others. Fish was fresh and flaky. The seafood pancake was thick and has tons of seafood and comes with a nice dipping sauce. The spicy pork was plenty and has tons of flavor. Not too spicy. The rice cake soup was surprisingly good.
