This is probably a solid pick for this area as the choices are slim here but we're not from here so it's hard to gauge so 3 stars for the area but if this were near us in Georgia, I'd give it 0-1 stars. It's a rural area bbq spot, 2 entrees ~$30 before tip which was a bit expensive imo for what you get The chicken nachos were a 1 star imo Pulled pork plate 2 stars The pork wasnt dry but it did have a ton of fatty pieces & it didn't have much flavor but the texture was mostly ok. The green beans taste like canned nothing beans overcooked The hush puppies were actually decent so those you should get if you come here The nachos are thick and the pulled chicken is like if I bought a Costco rotisserie chicken and ripped off all the chicken by hand leaving cartilage and inedible pieces intact. I even found a little bone in "pulled chicken" which is really chunks of rotisserie chicken. The cheese sauce may have curdled a bit or not been blended well A few canned jalapenos and a big blob of sour cream tossed on top The sauces made the food edible but they were very thin and just tasted like vinegar/sugar/ketchup. Or same but mustard for the yellow one The parking is on the street and there's a small lot nearby that says public parking and then you basically have the choice of this or the similar quality Mexican across the street. There's a couple of other shops on this road too Also it's counter service and you clean up after yourself so I guess you're supposed to tip for them to bring your food out of the kitchen? We found this place by accident. We went to another favorite restaurant of ours and it was closed for remodeling. We googled restaurants near us and we actually past it twice! It's a little hole in the wall, cozy place with parking right out front. It has a small round sign in front so keep your eyes peeled. Service was good and friendly. Menu was good. I had pulled pork and wife had chicken. Everything tasted good and nice proportions. We tried the banana pudding (not homemade) but tasty! I would definitely go back again. I had lunch here today with an old friend of mine. He is a rather accomplished cook and knows when something is good or amiss. We got identical plates. Brisket and pork bbq. This review is about my experience and not his. The brisket was tender but it had the consistency of pulled pork. The bbq was ok; not exceptional by any means. Additionally, we had coleslaw and fries. To my chagrin; I was a little let down. All food presented to us was of varying degrees of cold. The fries were shoestring and I bet they were frozen. The slaw was pretty coarsley chopped and difficult to chew. The macaroni and cheese was undoubtedly the best thing I ate. Had it not been cold; it would be a competitive side. Had the brisket rueben as it was recommended to me, which was very good. My side was their southern green beans and they nailed it, so good I drank the potlikker, wished I had a piece of cornbread. Very friendly counter staff and cook in the back. The place is nicely appointed, cute and CLEAN. A family business trying to make a living and I think they are doing a nice job. Went a month a month ago and food was real good. Went last Saturday 5-10-2025 and Ordered same as last time the quarter chicken plate. The chicken from first time pulled off bone really easy and was fully cooked. The second time the chicken wasn't easy to pull off of bone. Maybe not cooked long enough ? More pink than last time. Tried and true recipes, now with a fine location in Blacksburg. Pork and Beef were super tender. Homemade sauces are all good, can't pin a favorite yet. Baked beans and Mac n' Cheese were both solid sides. Come support a local business. read more

It was just OK. I did not care for any of their 3 choices of sauces. The baked beans weren't to my taste either.

Pork sandwich was good. Bbq slaw was ok. Cute little store. Service was slow. Glad to not have more fast food and not too far off 85.

cute place. overpriced, traveling from Columbia always like to spend money a local places to help out but this visit was a mistake. only four people were seated. took us 30 minutes to get our order. husband got pulled pork plate. $15 only had about two tablespoons pork on it . green beans straight out of the can. bbq slaw was advertised as a red slaw but it was green and terrible. Roll was good. I got chicken quarter with raw bloody chicken. Baked beans are straight out of a can with cracked pepper in them and creamy Cole slaw was chopped cabbage with nothing on it. No mayonnaise or anything. Roll was good. We left there and went to a QT gas station to get a hot dog. Pitiful for a 4th of July meal.This business won't be there long. read more
