I had a life crisis occur that resulted in me moving into an apt and needing a storage unit. Iron Gate Storage had affordable rates for a heated, in-door unit which was important to me since we live in WA. They are receiving 3-stars because while the facility is kept clean and the staff are friendly, they raise the rates every Jan with only 30-day notice. I'd been with them 5 months and they raised my rate. I just received my second rate increase notice in the 1.5yrs I've been using their services. I'm pretty sure they used the same notification letter both times. I am looking at other storage facilities. At a time where everything is increasing in cost, this annual increase shows the value isn't in keeping customers. read more

The facility is much like others I have used, but the service is better than I have ever experienced. Professional, personable, and capable. I recommend this place for sure. They also have moving truck rentals available which is very handy. They have a free one available for move in - just pay gas, etc. Then the other trucks are Penske which are much more reliable and higher quality than Uhaul. read more

We rented a drive-up unit for 3 years and experienced no issues. Our possessions remained safe and undamaged, including from floods and pestilence. Iron Gate-Orchards entire premises are very clean and well maintained. Multiple layers of security eliminated any possible worry of someone gaining unauthorized access to our unit. Helpful staff. Loved the ability to pay online. Not inexpensive (no storage place seems to be) -- but we felt we got what we paid for. If the need arose, we would select Iron Gate again. read more

My "climate controlled" storage unit was over 100 degrees on multiple visits. They also have a major mouse/ rat problem they are trying to cover up. The managers have no idea how to talk to people about the problems. I have no confidence that my unit is actually climate controlled. My belongings are covered in rodent feces. I cleaned some of it up, and there was more a few days later when I checked in. They'll tell you there is no rodent problem, but they aren't telling the truth. With a storage unit, you are paying for piece of mind, and this place doesn't have it. read more
