There seems to always be an area in front of a mirror to life and space to stretch on mats. It reminds me of the old westroads club. The kids daycare is great, the attendants are super sweet and caring for the kids. I don't love the locker room, but it does have ample lockers and rear end access to steam room sauna and pool. At the moment the splash pad is down so I don't have a reference on the pool but hope its a nice get away for us when the winter blues come around. Overall for the price it's a great deal to get the kids out and a work out in.

Regarding behavior and supervision, these concerns are not based on isolated incidents, nor are…read morethey issues that we have simply observed without reporting. We have reported problems to YMCA staff when they occurred. On several occasions, we spoke with front desk employees and were referred to staff members working in the particular area involved. We have also stopped and spoken directly with Zach, the facility director, about our concerns. Unfortunately, despite reporting these issues, we have continued to see many of the same problems. Some examples have included children holding other children underwater for concerning lengths of time in the pool, children running through and creating problems in the locker rooms, fighting and frequent profanity on the basketball courts, individuals standing on top of equipment in the weight area, and groups of kids congregating around the walking area and making inappropriate comments to patrons about their weight or physical abilities. Some of these behaviors are simply disruptive, but others have caused us legitimate safety concerns. For that reason, being asked to report these incidents when they happen is somewhat frustrating, because that is exactly what we have been doing. At some point, we would hope that repeated reports would result in greater staff presence, supervision, and consistent enforcement of facility rules rather than requiring individual members to continually identify the same types of problems. We also wanted to clarify our concern regarding classes. We understand from your response that additional classes have recently been added. However, from what we can see, only two additional evening classes were added. While increased daytime programming may benefit some members, it does not substantially address the concern of a working family that primarily needs programming during evening hours. When we originally joined Westview, our experience was quite different. There seemed to be more class opportunities, and the swimming area in particular felt much more controlled and supervised. The frequent unavailability of facilities has also played a part in our frustration. There have been many occasions when areas we would like to use, particularly the pool or gym, have been closed or unavailable. When combined with limited evening programming, it can make it difficult for our family to consistently use the membership in the way we originally anticipated. We have increasingly found ourselves going to other YMCA locations when possible, including Gretna, Armbrust, and Southwest. What is especially noticeable to us is that we do not routinely encounter these same behavioral and supervision issues at those facilities. We certainly understand that children will be children and that no public facility can prevent every incident. Our concern is the frequency of the behavior at Westview and what appears to be a difference in supervision and enforcement compared with other YMCA locations. We genuinely want Westview to be successful. It is the location we should be able to use most conveniently, and our survey feedback was intended to explain why our family's experience has declined rather than simply to criticize the facility. I'm naturally pretty shy and not usually the person who starts conversations, but several of the instructors have gone out of their way to get to know me, welcome me, and introduce me to other members. That kind of effort makes a huge difference and creates such an inclusive atmosphere. I also love that most rides have a theme. Whether it's a throwback playlist, artist spotlight, or genre-specific ride, it keeps things fun and makes the workouts fly by. As a retired military veteran, I have never felt obligated to post a negative review about…read moreanything, until now. I have been a member at Crossfit Kinesis for more than three years. Everything was great until recently when I became injured. I was then exposed to a side of the owners, Kyle Kasperbauer and Nissa Cohen, that I had never seen before during my time as a client at CFK. After visiting my Doctor about foot and ankle pain, I was instructed not to participate in Crossfit for at least two months as my Achilles needed down time to heal. As the contract states, if a member develops an injury, he or she is allowed to place the membership on "Hold". I contacted Kyle and Nissa via Facebook Messenger to discuss my membership options while healing. I have saved all written and electronic correspondence. Kyle messaged me back via Facebook Messenger and stated, "In regards to your membership, please email info@crosffitkinesis.com. Nissa and I no longer handle membership holds or changes." This was an immediate red flag to me. For an owner to state, they are not involved with membership holds or changes is frankly, inconceivable. But, per their instruction I followed their process. I emailed info@crosffitkinesis.com on Jan 30, 2019 and received no response. I emailed again on Feb 1st with no response. I then contacted Kyle and Nissa via Facebook Messenger on Feb 5th stating that I did not receive a response from info@crossfitkinesis.com. I received NO RESPONE from Kyle or Nissa. It was clear to me, they were purposefully ignoring my questions to prevent me from placing my membership on hold. I drove to Crossfit Kinesis to address my concerns with Kyle and Nissa on Feb 11th, a full 12 days after my initial message to them. Nissa was present at the gym, but not available to talk. I was able to talk to Kyle privately. I explained to Kyle my disappointment with him and Nissa and their process. As a business owner myself, this is not how I do business and it's not how I expected to be treated as a paying member. Kyle was defensive but did apologize and assured me that whomever this "mystery person" is that has been assigned to monitor the info@crossfitkinesis.com would be dealt with. His response was comical and somewhat incoherent. It is painfully obvious that he is fully aware of what is going on and he and Nissa are hiding behind the info@crossfitkinesis.com to ensure they do not lose the residual income. My understanding is that several current and ex-Kinesis members have experienced the same treatment when dealing with injuries, membership holds or leaving Crossfit Kinesis. I would encourage all of you to take a stand and not tolerate poor treatment from a business who does not appreciate their clientele. Kyle and Nissa preach of community and bible verses. They walk that path as long is it does not affect their bottom dollar. Shame on both of them. Arrogance and ego, along with a lack in the understanding of what it truly means to be part of a community, are Kyle and Nissa's downfall. And I thought maybe it would get better if I leveled up and went to open gyms and camps to be better to impress my couch but nothing was enough. Not every couch in that gym is bad but it was a really hard experience on my metal health for me.
