The stress was immense, as I had to become savvy to construction and plumbing work in order to double check their work. The core crew and their plumber are PHENOMINAL! These guys have an amazing work ethic and do beautiful work when it comes to paving and plumbing, but we were a great experiment when it came to building the pool. Our pool was the first they'd ever built. They were only subcontractors on prior pools working on the decking only. Fermin, the owner, presents as the most honorable, caring, upright human being, only to bait and switch you on workmanship, materials, etc., until you DON'T get what you think you're paying for. If you use this company, please read your paperwork with a fine tooth comb, making sure that everything you are expecting is there. And, if you make any changes, go through all of the paperwork again to identify everything is there exactly. We had a tiler who didn't know what he was doing, an engineer and equipment expert who didn't ground and bond all of the wiring and also didn't follow the positioning or wiring instructions for the heater (we almost lost our warranty because it was installed poorly), a pool filled with water and debris with no chemicals to start us off and no instructions for curing time or equipment/chemical usage during the 30 day curing time. Worse, Fermin told us he didn't subcontract--the team and equipment were all his. This was a lie, and it resulted in their forklift running into the side of my neighbor's home, puncturing her stucco. Further, we had to stop the construction of an eyesore of a privacy fence that looked nothing like what we agreed upon or the photos that showed precisely what we wanted. Bait and switch. Another $10,000 later and a decking company that knew what it was doing, we got our privacy fence installed. The contract includes a two-year warranty on the structure, but we have spent thousands of dollars on repairs without reimbursement because this company will generally not respond to warranty calls and we couldn't trust them to wire and properly install the pool equipment. They did, however, respond a few months ago to a repair on our retaining wall, but did a sloppy job that did not actually repair the cracks (photos). We now also have a rusted landscaping light and a loose tile on the step (photo). We have gone to the office, called every week for weeks, to no avail. The owner is ignoring our calls to schedule a warranty repair. Again, I cannot complain about the workmanship of paving and perhaps landscaping. They did a remarkable job on our pavers and matched our paint like nothing I've ever seen before (paint is very hard to match exactly, but they did it). There are definitely good things to say, but overall, buyer beware! Fermin is NOT what he appears as a businessman, and you may pay dearly for it.

Stones of Texas performed faulty construction work and a large poolside, wooden pavilion they built collapsed. During the investigation of that incident, it was found that Stones of Texas had performed much more faulty work as well. We were awarded a judgment against Stones of Texas and Fermin Cardenas. He has been running from us and has refused to pay the judgment amount as required by law. Please do not let this man and his company do this to you as well.

We had a stamped concrete walkway and patio areas as well as a driveway extension. Sal communicated well with us the whole time on subtle changes and how to best match the texture of the driveway. Sal was involved in the whole process including ding much of the work himself and making sure attention to detail was a priority. Sal's proposal was very competitive and worth every penny in the end! It was a pretty big project when you see the finished product, it's amazing! Sal's crew were super professional and worked hard to get everything ready for the actual concrete work and they completed the pouring and finishing of the project within a day. Sal and Carlos even came out the next day (Saturday) to clean up and seal the stamped concrete. They even power washed my whole driveway to show off the driveway extension work matching best! Overall, best experience and will always recommend Sal! See the uploaded pictures of the before, during and final product to really showcase his wonderful work!

All the guys that were here to do the demo and the new pour were fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable and professional. Took two days to complete and it turned out great. Things like boot marks in the concrete. Not just one, many. Wheelbarrow tracks, etc. For the garage, the slab was so lopsided and was a rhombus, not a rectangle. The builder couldn't place the building. Victor ghosted us as soon as there were issues and never made it right. He also insisted on payment either in cash or wire. We sent a wire and the wire itself was flagged by the federal reserve and they wouldn't release the funds until he talked with them. Of course, this took some time and he was aggressive with us. Ended up finding a reputable concrete company and they had to come tear out Victor's shoddy work. When they did so, they noted several other issues we wouldn't have known about. For example, the rebar was minimal and it was all sunk to the bottom. They had laid it on the ground and poured over it. We watched them do it and didn't think at the time that, duh, the rebar should be "in" the concrete, not under it. Another issue was that the patio slab was boot attached to the home slab at all. It had already begun to drift. If you want a quick and terrible job that you will regret and spend time and energy trying to fix, hire SoTex. There is more to a job than just being able to have the lowest quote and, in this case, it really really matters.

Eduardo was wonderful to work with and all the workers were skilled, courteous and professional. The finished project was amazing. I felt that my kitchen should be on the cover of Kitchen and Bath magazine. The counter has beautiful marble tiles! That was just the beginning of the laundry list of projects that I have since then hired Best Concepts to do. The next big project was to create an upstairs balcony from the window that was in the game room. I had originally decided to put a pergola over the fabulous kitchen that I had gotten built, but with a few suggestions from Best Concepts,I made an upper balcony instead...with a CEMENT floor to cover the kitchen. I had never even considered that an upper deck could have a cement floor. WOW!!!! another prize winning job was accomplished. I have since then gone on to hire Best Concepts to to tile my kitchen, build a outdoor deck, replace basketball goals, install basketball court lights, paint inside the house, install a jetted bath tub and more. Every single project was done with superior quality. I have made Best Concepts my personal upgrade company, because I have been extremenly impressed by the work ethic, kindness, great prices, and professionalism of the crew. I offer my highest recommendation without hesitation for any job that involves construction or remodeling.
