Luke's Concrete - Left in ditch......

    Luke's Concrete

Sadly, it seems that Luke's Concrete only cares about the large high dollar jobs. I urge you to…read moreread my experience with them below and look at the photos. Every job should be completed professionally, regardless of the size of the job. You may not think this applies to you but remember, even if you hire them for a large job now, you'll eventually need a repair and then you'll be in the same position as me - a small job that doesn't warrant a high quality of work in their book. If they aren't going to give it their best effort, they should not provide a quote for the job. Read my experience and look at the photos, then you be the judge. A septic company caused damage to two areas of my driveway with their trucks, and they commissioned Luke's Concrete to repair it. Dallas Luke, the owner of Luke's Concrete, came out and met with me personally and assured me they would professionally repair the driveway once the septic company owner approved the repair quote. He shared because it would be new concrete, the color obviously would not match. He also said he thought he could match the pebbles that were in my existing concrete, but he wasn't sure. I understood that and only wanted to ensure the repairs were performed professionally and correctly which he assured me would be the case. Based on the photos on his website and the majority of reviews for his company, I had no reason to doubt his word. On July 1st, Luke's Concrete sent someone to repair my driveway. He was in a pickup with no company signage and spoke broken English. There were no concrete trucks, only bags of concrete he mixed by hand. The rocks/pebbles were just poured on top, not mixed into the concrete. He did tell me not to drive on it for 4 days and that it would look better after the "wash". We kept it blocked off for the 4 days with no one driving on it. I have no idea what he meant by "wash". He couldn't explain it to me, and no one has been back to inspect the repair. I did not sign anything for them to begin the repair nor did I sign off on the shoddy work after it was completed. After the 4 days, the concrete repair did NOT look any better and the rocks that were just laying on top of the concrete continued to fall away with wind, rain, or even walking over it as you can see in the photos. I have called Luke's Concrete several times for over a week and left voicemails because no one answered the phone. In addition, I emailed them. All I asked was that a supervisor or Dallas Luke come out and look at the repair job and they would see it didn't meet their standards, that it looked like a child did it. And if the inspection showed it was improperly done, I asked that it be repaired properly. No one has returned my calls or responded to the emails. I have made every effort to handle this in a respectful way but have been left no choice but to share my experience to protect others as no one from Luke's Concrete will respond or make any effort at all to correct the issue. The septic company finally had to hire another concrete company to come and cut out the repairs Luke's Concrete made and redo them from scratch.

Decided to use Luke's Concrete for a widening project on my driveway. After reading past reviews I…read morefigured they were reputable! Boy was I wrong. Initial quote process was good (I received 3 quotes and they were in the middle as far as pricing). Quality of the pour in front good, quality of the poor in the back not so much. Front pour: They told me that they would put a big rock back to where it belonged but then just gave me excuses that they "moved the rock the best they could" due to the size (They moved this rock in the beginning to pour the cement over 3 feet!) But they can't move it out of my ditch??? Other excuse was they didn't want to "break the concrete by moving it anymore" Said they pushed it back up? (Take a look at my pictures, still sitting in the ditch by the drain). Back pour: Out back I questioned the slope of the pour as when it rains it would go directly into the corner of my garage foundation. He said they dug it out more to level it out but after the pouring of concrete it slopes directly to my foundation. Another issue is I asked them to backfill out back once the forms were pulled up, Taylor and another worker went back to do this but it was not done. (See pictures) I had to complete the one side as I now have a trailer I put in the back. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Luke's as they talk a good game to get your business but do not finish the project as they state!

Found them through Thumbtack app. Victor was great in his response and with his quote the same day…read moreto be exact. Was able to start the job 4 days later which was great. All the guys that were here to do the demo and the new pour were fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable and professional. Took two days to complete and it turned out great. We would definitely hire / recommend them. Needless to say I thought the value was pretty good as well.

Run away as fast as you can. Had victor and his crew do sidewalks, patio, and slab for garage…read more You would not believe the issues and the poor quality. Things like boot marks in the concrete. Not just one, many. Wheelbarrow tracks, etc. For the garage, the slab was so lopsided and was a rhombus, not a rectangle. The builder couldn't place the building. Victor ghosted us as soon as there were issues and never made it right. He also insisted on payment either in cash or wire. We sent a wire and the wire itself was flagged by the federal reserve and they wouldn't release the funds until he talked with them. Of course, this took some time and he was aggressive with us. Ended up finding a reputable concrete company and they had to come tear out Victor's shoddy work. When they did so, they noted several other issues we wouldn't have known about. For example, the rebar was minimal and it was all sunk to the bottom. They had laid it on the ground and poured over it. We watched them do it and didn't think at the time that, duh, the rebar should be "in" the concrete, not under it. Another issue was that the patio slab was boot attached to the home slab at all. It had already begun to drift. If you want a quick and terrible job that you will regret and spend time and energy trying to fix, hire SoTex. There is more to a job than just being able to have the lowest quote and, in this case, it really really matters.
