It's been a LONG time since I've been to a salon and had decided have my hair chopped off. I made an appointment with Iron Rose Salon for the same week and was scheduled with Christen. I arrived a bit early and was greeted in a friendly manner by the staff and the salon pet-friend. Once it was my turn, I was treated like a person, not just a number. Christen took the time to discuss my options with me and talked me through the entire process. She told me what works best for my hair type (curly) and gave me great tips in keeping my hair healthy and looking great! I will definitely be back to see Christen in the future. :) read more

It's hard to book an appointment and when you finally get one booked be prepared for most hair dressers to cancel on you multiple times and waste your time. It's easy to see why hairdressers complain about not having clients when the pricing is extremely high and then most hairdressers forget about your appointment or cancel or move your appointment around on you. If you want a nail technician that pays fine attention to every detail, look no further! I took my nails that hadn't been pampered in over a year to Cha Cha. She took such care and patience with my nails and cuticles so you never would have known the horrors I came in with. Conversation was lively and exciting as well. The best part of this (if the rest hadn't sold you yet), is that she is a former AP art teacher, so she really knows her stuff! I requested yellow nails, with polka dots, and she made sure the polka dots all popped and matched the color scheme. I really like this salon--they have plenty of stylists who are readily available to book an appointment, the prices are reasonable, and the service/vibe is always friendly. You may see lots of pictures of vivid hair colors and crazy cuts on their website, but I go in for a basic trim and highlight, and they never disappoint. I've been to 4 of the stylists (Misty, Billie, Katie, and Taylor), and never had a bad experience. They are efficient, neat, and fun to talk with while they work. I highly recommend the whole salon! I will sing the praises of Billy and Iron Rose Salon. *ahem* I had a horrible experience at another salon... I had bleached lime green hair (I'm naturally a soft black) and wanted to go to a very dark blue, Blue-Black if you will. The stylist used permanent black dye and ruined all the progress I made, AND my haircut looked horrible. After mourning my hair, I went into another stage of grief... acceptance. So, I booked my an appointment with Billy and to my surprise; she texted me before the appointment to see what my plans were. I told her my story, and said I'd remain black. I knew I'd have to chop off my hair that I was trying to grow out because of the damage... After arriving and consulting me, Billy blew my mind by telling me she could slowly get me back to my former vibrant glory! So, what was initially a defeated, lets salvage whats left of my hair to a hopeful...OMG, can I look cute again!? She gracefully changed from color to a color correction and I can not tell you how happy I am. There are no words, not elated, overjoyed, jubilant, ecstatic or even blissful! None of those words can accurately describe how much I loved my cut AND she brought me to a beautiful (almost) dark blue. My green from my past life came through but it's still really cute. She also sent me home with a blue hair mask to treat my hair with too. I've moved from Southern California where I had a trusted person for my hair. And i'm so so so soooo happy I have one here in Oklahoma too. We clicked, had one of my favorite conversations in ages and she left me feeling on cloud nine! Got talked into getting a blowout and straighten done to my hair without knowing there was an upcharge. She just made it seem like she was throwing it in. She knew I was inexperienced getting my hair done in salons and took advantage. I asked for a trim and when she was done she said "well it's kinda like a wolfcut" . I was lucky enough to get Cady as my stylist and she took my frumpy box colored hair and turned it into a work of art. I feel beautiful for the first time in years! Plus the environment of the salon can't be beaten. A special shout out to Dolores the resident cat who makes every visitor feel loved. The art work on walls is amazing and most importantly, the stylists honestly seem to adore each other. There are only happy vibes here. Where do I begin? Iron Rose is as cool, hip and trendy as they come. The stylists are carefully chosen and it is obvious that their experience is high above the standard. I am greeted by the sweetest front desk girl(s) anytime I arrive for my appointment. My stylist always runs on time and there is a fun, friendly atmosphere. The owner is amazing too. She's always there working next to her crew and she's always so nice to me. I don't think I've ever loved going to get my hair done as much as I do when I come here. Misty is wonderful at cut and color!! I moved here from Texas a year ago and I was terrified to find a new stylist because I have bangs and I'm pretty particular about how I like them to look... I've been to her twice now and she has done a phenomenal job both times! I had her do an ombré color the last time I went to her and I get compliments every day! I can't recommend her enough! Not at all what I asked for, Went in & said I don't do my hair I just want to wash & add a little leave in conditioner & gel & go also don't take any off the length but give me a style. Walked out with a reverse bob with the length going from about 3" to 1/2". By the time I got to the gym I looked like bozo the clown and was really ready to cry. One thing that was way above any experience I've ever had - before we finished, she made sure I checked my color in the light to ensure I would be happy (wet always looks different than dry). I was referred to this place by a friend. I am of mixed race and I called ahead and spoke with the co-owner and asked if that would be a problem. She insured me it would be of no issue and referred me to Rebel. So I text her, sent her a picture of my hair down and curly, up and curly, down and straighten chemically, and up and straighten. I also sent her pictures from my screen shots of my pintrest board of exactly what I wanted. Rebel seemed beyond excited about doing my hair. She made me an appointment for a week later. The day of my appointment I arrive a few minutes early. She was late. She then rushed me into the chair and I felt very uncomfortable. She then started to take down my pony tail and right away making excuses. She called my hair "nappy" and "kinky" and said no one would ever be able to cut it. She said my hair would be rolled and kinky and patchy if I cut it. She suggested to me that I should just get an Afro or do nothing. After literally 30 minutes of this type of emotional abuse, I left out of there in tears. I was hoping to walk out of there that day with nothing but smiles and confidence, and I got exactly the opposite. I wouldn't have been so upset if it wasn't the fact that I asked her over and over again before making the appointment if she could give me the cut I wanted. She made me wait. Then insulted me for 30 minutes. If you aren't willing to do all kinds of hair, or accept all people, don't say you will. Don't lie. Don't be mean. read more

AWESOME Salon! I've had my hair cut by Misty (the owner) for the last year and she is a rock star! As a business professional I like a precision cut, and a current hair style is important. My hair always looks great when I leave, and more importantly it lasts as my hair grows - which speaks to her expertise and technical ability.
