When I first moved to OKC, I was so worried about finding a stylist who could do a good pixie cut. My hair is fine AND thin and I like it super short so there's really not much room for error! I had read good reviews about Blakeley prior but was still nervous when I went to see her the first time. I've had plenty of experiences in the past where the stylist would ask me about what type of pixie I wanted and then just go ahead and do something completely different but I am happy to report that Blakeley is definitely NOT one of those! During that first appointment, she really took the time to listen to what I wanted and would check in with me throughout to make sure that I was completely happy with the way the haircut was progressing (which I was!). I've been seeing her regularly for 9 months now and have always loved how my hair turns out every time! All that to say, she is an absolutely wonderful stylist who genuinely cares about giving you the best experience so if you are looking for someone who does a mean pixie, look no further! I'm so grateful for all of the 5 star ratings on Yelp, they gave me the courage to try this salon. I called 1st and Meridith was kind and knowledgeable. I let her know that I started to let my white/gray hair grow in and didn't like the look with my light brown hair. Lindsey was available the next day and I was so glad she was! She blended highlights into my hair and made it gorgeous! She gave my great styling advise, but was never pushy about it. I was there from 1:30 until 5, and was only charged $200! I didn't think it could happen, but this experience was even better than the last. I booked sweet Audrey Martin to cut a lot of hair off my head. I met her a month before my cut to buy some product and she remembered that experience. It meant a lot to be remembered. I showed her my inspiration pictures. She talked about my hair goals and washed my hair. She ensured that the cut was at the length I desired and spent more time making sure it was shorter when I requested it. She curled it so cute. I had a great experience here - from the man at the front desk who was polite and personable and checked me in and offered me something to drink - to Marlo, who highlighted my hair and gave me a wonderful haircut. She spent a lot of time with me between the highlights and the haircut. She was polite, professional, and easy to talk with. She understood what I wanted when it came to blonde highlights and really delivered on my haircut - we talked at length about what I wanted to achieve with both the highlights and the cut. My wife wanted a natural highlight touch up on Friday before Mothers Day plans and got completely the opposite. She is in tears and upset that what she communicated wasn't don't the way it has always been done. When she communicated this to Travis. He took know responsibility to make it immediately right while she was there at his saloon. Instead it was take the weekend and see how you feel about it. I've been going to Trichology for several years. I cannot say enough about their products and service. At one point, I followed my first stylist to another salon. However, when she moved away, she passed me off to a person who butchered my hair. The evening before I was to leave for vacation, I walked in to Trichology begging them to fix the prison cut I was sporting. Emily Drake took care of me that night, and has now been my stylist for the past five years. She always takes the time and attention to make sure everything is perfect. I was fortunate to have visited Emily the Friday before salons were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Like everyone else, my hair grew longer in the next two months, but still retained its shape. I always look forward to my appointments with Emily. After Trichology reopened, we were laughing about how you get to know more about your stylist than you do some people you work with. She's personable without being pushy, and I've been blessed by sharing a little slice of life with her. So if you're looking for something new, please try Trichology. On Friday (3/24/23) I got my hair dyed a neutral black tone and their hair dye gave me an allergic reaction. When I brought this up in a phone call a couple days after the appointment (describing the symptoms and intensity) they never offered any alternative on their behalf to fix it. When I asked about a partial refund--not even full, but partial refund to be nice--I was told in an immensely passive aggressive tone that it was my fault because I couldn't tell them what ingredient in the hair dye I was allergic to (despite that the manager couldn't even bother to look and read the ingredients to me and inform me of any common ingredients that could give people an allergic reaction--or if anybody else had gotten any allergic reactions to their dyes before) and the manager replied "we're not doctors, we're just trying to do our job." Okay? That doesn't take away from the accountability you uphold as a business. And apparently they've been using their hair dye for a long time. You'd think they'd at least CHECK the ingredients to see if it upholds current safety standards. The manager claimed that "we didn't burn your scalp--it would be different if we burned it." So you're telling me that this extent of damage isn't worth even a partial refund? At least I got a refund on the shampoo and conditioner I bought from there, but that is a policy they hold for ALL customers, so that refund wasn't a special case. The lack of knowledge of the products used within their own store and lack of empathy/sympathy from their manager is enough to make me never come back. I would specifically go out of my way to deter people from coming to this establishment. This is not the way to fix the issue. I never asked them to be a doctor, but the manager couldn't even be bothered to look at the ingredients of the products she purchases for customers when I asked about it. I went to Trichology (after booking an appointment), and I vaguely knew what I wanted (though I wanted to try and provide a little more direction). As soon as I entered the salon, I knew I was in good hands. The atmosphere was clean and orderly, and I was welcomed as soon as I walked in. When we started working on my hair, I had a great conversation with my stylist as we realized that this would take a while (I have thick hair and a lot of it). I ended up in the salon for about 4 hours, but the result was (and still is) stunning! I went in for a haircut and to get layers and curtain bangs. The stylist was nice and professional and I had no issues with her, however, I was not sure if the bangs were short enough but my hair stylist said they were short enough to where they would fall down when I put my hair up (which is what I wanted). She said if I was unhappy with it, I had up to 2 weeks to call and she would fix it free of charge. I thought 'wow thats great service'. Well it turns out the bangs weren't short enough and they did not fall out of my ponytail like I wanted, so I called and the first couple times I did, no one answered (different times). I called another time another day and finally got ahold of someone but they said they didn't really know what I was talking about and that the stylist who cut my hair was not there so the receptionist said she would leave a note for the stylist and have her call me. I never received a call so I called again another day and still nothing. She never returned my call and they never reached out about it. I live in NYC and came here while visiting family for the holidays... to try to save some money on the NYC hair color price mark-up :) I had Tina as my stylist, and she killed it! I showed her exactly what I wanted, we talked through it for a few minutes, and I could tell she totally understood what I was asking for. I got a balayage blonde color all over, but mixed in some pieces of my natural color, since I had a horrible dye job before, and my hair was one solid block of blonde. As a curly headed person, I am SO leery of letting just anyone cut my hair. Curly haired people know that one bad cut from someone not fully trained in curly cutting techniques can be the end of a beautiful head of hair for quite some time until it grows out again. My hair had been getting pretty long and with that the curls were being pulled out, damaging knots were forming daily, and if i was lucky I could 1 good day out of my hair before it just looked like a matted lifeless mess. When I called explaining the type of cut I wanted after being inspired on TikTok (shag) I was encouraged to make an appointment with Travis, who is known for his ability to perfect this look on his clients (see the photos in the other Yelp reviews!) I was willing to drive an hour and a half to Oklahoma City from Tulsa just to be sure that I was in the hands of someone both capable and artistic with hair. Oh, my, GOSH. I have NEVER been so in love with my hair!!! Mind you, I have not had bangs since I was about 7 years old and had no idea if this was going to be a nightmare just waiting to happen, but I trusted his process and I was left with the most flattering, throwback/retro, beautifully light and full of bouncy curls head of hair! Travis even went above and beyond to explain every step of what he was doing, why he was doing it, the products he was using, and the easy process I needed to take in order to flawlessly recreate his work every day in my own home (leave in conditioner, texture powder massaged in at the top of the scalp, thumb and forefinger styled bangs to create a curtain look). I had wanted to do an additional color to my hair (full blonde highlights and maybe some copper tones?) but by the time my hair was dried and styled, it needed nothing else because it stood out wonderfully all on its own. He also used R+Co. styling products which i purchased one of at the end of my appointment because the quality and fragrance were unbeatable! I am a travel nurse and so flying around the country is a normal thing for me, so I will have no problem flying back to Oklahoma City in the future to see Travis again!! If I could give 0 stars I would. My hairdresser was Maddie. I asked for black and grey in my hair and she clarified ombre with me. What was done was not black or ombre. She said we could try to get grey tips and I was fine with none as long as most was black. She did not talk to me at all during the 3 hour process. No one there uses gloves and they leave you in the sink to dye your hair. How anyone can see what they are doing or getting even layers while dying in a sink without your head being up is beyond me. She did not ask me any further questions about what I wanted or how far I wanted it to go. I said not the darkest black but darker than my roots. I did not see my hair until it was done but when I finally saw it I was shocked it was almost the same color. I paid 180 for the same color. Only for her to argue that my hair was shorter than the picture and somehow that didn't relate to me not getting black hair. I will never let another salon touch my hair and I will warn everyone away from this place. The moment I sat down she barely acknowledged me. She was incredibly rude when I told her this was not what I had asked for. She said I could reschedule and said I was lucky she didn't charge me for saving my hair. It was not damaged and I had some bands of brown from a previous dye but putting black on top would not equate to making it one color. I spent 3 hours wishing anyone else would have been my hairdresser since they were all having lively conversations. Anytime I tried to talk she would look annoyed. read more
