DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE!! I bought a bunny, and one of the first things they told me they do not give any guarantee. It sounded very weird that they emphasized on it. Now I know why, the day after we bought her, we noticed she was pee brown, like with blood. Now a week later, I found my bunny dead . I just read other people's reviews and I'm not the only one that bought from them and there poor animals die in a few days or even one mention that happened in the same day. They should close this store, since it looks like they are selling sick animals. I wish I can put zero stars. I'so sad for my Rosie. read more

I bought my 2 Guinea pigs from this store a while back (Their names are peanut, and butter) they gave us a big enough cage, food, and hay. The cage came with a food bowl and a water cup. The service was amazing and they made sure we knew the gender of the Guinea pigs. The store is in good condition, but warning , there is no fast food/deli stores around the area, so be sure to bring a snack or eat before. Today, a couple weeks later, peanut & butter are happy and healthy! This store is awesome and I would rate it a 10/10! read more

PEOPLE BEWARE I took my dogs to Ironbound pet shop on 9-25-23 for cleaning of ears, teeth and nails I've done it many times before with other Animals and never had a problem but that day after picking up my dogs and walking home with them I noticed Baloo my male standard poodle was shaking he's head more then usual I understand that by cleaning their ears it would irritate them a little but Baloo kept shaking and shaking so the next day I checked his ears and WOW what horrible looking ears my poor Baloo had, just look at the pictures your self I couldn't believe what I was seeing so I called the place and spoke to the manager I explained what happened and he said come in the next day before 3pm and speak to the girls in the back who did the service on my dogs ok next day I come with my dogs around 2pm walk to the back and explain what happened look at my dogs ear they look infected how is that possible right after the service because right before I brought them to have service done they were fine the girls really didn't have much to say so Mark the owner came to the back and said that there's no way that my dogs ear got bloody and infected over service they did, I'm like excuse me when my dogs came in for service they didn't have that and didn't look bloody bad like it did plus Baloo wasn't shaking his ears like never before how can you explain that all I know is it seems he didn't want to help me with anything he didn't even had the courtesy to look at my dogs ear nothing didn't care I was speechless all I wanted was some advice, comfort for my dog at least anything to better the situation but nothing he just kept saying that he got that from somewhere else I couldn't believe what I was hearing PEOPLE BEWARE!!!!!! read more

THIS IS THE BEST PET STORE IN NEWARK!!! They are friendly attentive. I have been taking my five dogs to them for years now. The dogs jump out of the car and actually pull-on lease to get inside. This tells me they treat my pets (which are like family to us) very good like they were their own. When I pick them up, they are calm and my beagle loves the groomer. I have to tell a story I at one point 5-6 years ago took my beagle to another woman she was so abrupt with animals we had to drag him into her shop and he would pee with fear. Crazy woman! I have also bought different animals, food etc and they are great. I trust my animals and all my pets needs to them 110%. If I could give them 10 STARS I WOULD. read more

My hubby bought a bunny was not told to get hay and when I called to say the bunny seemed to not be eating was told " oh they eat very little You might not even notice it" I have bought other animals from there years ago and never had an issue but now very disappointed . When I called to say the bunny died they made me feel horrible like I did something wrong and killed it. Definitely not going there again! It's new owners !! Buyer Beware. I went there to buy my first Bunny. I truly believed the employee Bruno was trying to be helpful gathering items I would need for my new pet. Aside from really trying to push that I spend more on a bigger cage that I am thankful now I didn't get, I thought he had been genuine. Now my problem arose when I got home & saw the bunny didn't want to drink from the water bottle I was told I needed. The bunny would only drink from a bowl of water. I tried to exchange the bottle for more rabbit food and was told I couldn't because of a small cardboard flap that was missing from the packaging and it couldn't be resold. I told Bruno I would have never purchased this bottle if he (the expert) had not told me it was needed and Bruno shrugged his shoulders. I have no other animals and they have an entire store of them that could have used this bottle. So, for $6.99 Bruno chose to decline my credit and now I feel so offended that I waited 15-20 minutes of my lunch waiting for him to come back from break to say no to me that I no longer want to purchase anything from this store. So, if you need anything for your pet go somewhere where they wont give you a problem returning things that they suggested and you really don't need. It's sad because the ladies that work there are lovely and I would have spent more money over time making future purchases but now I won't give them a cent more of my money. read more

Unbelievable. I called prior to coming to ensure they had a ferret. The employee who answered the phone took down my number and said he would hold it for me. I brought my kids with me for the two hour drive. When I arrived, there was no ferret in the cage. The ferret was in the hands of a lady and he was sold. My time and money was wasted. The kids were disappointed. They will do anything for money. I would not recommend this spot. read more

This shop owner sells underage, sick, and pregnant animals. The animals are also improperly housed. The shop smells terrible. The "feeder" mice and rats are sick from living in their own feces, and they have even resorted to cannibalism. He frequently sells puppies and kittens who appear to be way too young. A couple of months ago, he was selling a husky puppy who seemed to have neurological problems. The other animals are in small tanks and cages, and too many of them are housed together. He kept male and female bunnies in one tank. A coworker felt sorry for one of the bunnies and purchased her, and she recently gave birth to 9 babies. (They are currently at Popcorn Park Zoo.) The owner is currently selling dyed Easter chicks which is a violation of the NJSA Title 4 (Animal Cruelty). This is not a business anyone who cares about animals should be supporting. read more
