Highly, highly recommend. I reached out to Trusty Tails last minute - about 24 hours before I needed the service to start - via their online portal to set-up daily, weekday walks for my large dog. I did have a phone call in advance to confirm a few details but Trusty Tails was able to come through. I dropped my 2 sets of keys in their drop box after work and they took care of everything else. My dog is very friendly but also particular - he can be standoff-ish at first meeting, and he is leery of men he's unfamiliar with. To get him settled, Trusty Tails first sent over a female walker even though she doesn't typically walk the dogs in my building. My dog was very scared of her but she took the time to sit with him on our couch for a few minutes until they could break the ice with a few treats. I really appreciate that Trusty Tails took the time to go at my pup's pace before taking him out for the walk - I don't know that other services would have had the patience to sit and wait as opposed to leaving. Now he is being introduced to his new regular walker who will be a male, and Trusty Tails is having both his female walker and his new male walker go over together at no extra charge to me. This service is above and beyond. It's important to me that I know what's going on in my home and with my dog so the fact that there is an online portal that shows me exactly when they arrive, exactly when they leave, and I receive a report on how the visit went...it's a game changer. My wife and I were looking for our dog to be walked twice a day over a period of 2 days. We have used the service a couple of times previously with ok results, so assumed we were in a good place to ask for a 2 day dog walk due to work schedule. Given that our dog can be uncomfortable with strangers (as stated in his profile and company's previous experience) I reached out ahead of time to see if anything needed to be done (hmmm, maybe have walker meet dog!) for the walks and was told that everything was ok. In the first morning, we muzzled our dog to ensure there would be no issues. However, the walker could not get our muzzled 45 dog to "Come outside", someone else came in the evening and was able to get him to go on a walk, so clearly the issue was the dog walker. However, on day 2, the same unsuccessful dog walker was sent with the same results, leading to Trusty tails to cancel our 2nd walk. Long story short, they only completed 1 of the 4 scheduled walks. I had to call a family member (during a work meeting) to come walk him as I was not home until very late, my dog did not walk for over 12 hours which is not acceptable. I was, however, charged for 4 walks! The icing on the cake was when I asked them to drop off my keys, they said they would by the next day. 2 weeks later, I called asking about the keys again and was told that there is a charge, but I could pick up between 10-11am only. So took the morning off to pick up the keys. Was going to give them 2 stars, but after reading my own review, they deserve 1. read more

Trusty Tails is excellent - easy to use and provide great care for our dog. Scheduling is simple and easily completed on desktop or mobile. Just be aware that reservations less than one day out must be done over the phone. They are very attentive to these as well but there is a fee associated - which is fair. Plan ahead and you'll save a few bucks! Zoewy regularly walks our pup, Piper and we couldn't be happier with the service she provides. The walkers have all taken great pictures of Pepper walking and playing, and each walk they leave us informative online journals about his time with them; they make us feel comfortable always. Lastly, my schedule with work is always changing so I frequently have to text updates, requests the night before and sometimes cancellations, and the staff is always responsive and kind to me. Do NOT use Trusty Tails! I came home one visit to find my elderly dog stuck in a bedroom in a puddle of urine. He was so upset he was groaning. We live in a building with a doorman - who informed me that the overnight visits I paid for were not being done. The walker was leaving my elderly dog alone. After advising the company that the sitter was not actually staying overnight, I was told that I was wrong. So, my doorman confirmed the times with me that the walker was in the apartment - and the walker was not there when he claimed to be; thankfully, my building doorman cared enough to watch out for my dog! On another visit, I paid for a walker to stay in my home and care for my dog. The walker did stay overnight, but decided to go on the roof to "smoke" setting off the fire alarms and causing me to get a warning from the building!! (Getting to the roof requires the use of a ladder - no one is allowed on the roof.) Scheduling is NOT easy either. I think that the company blatantly lied twice about the availability of my chosen walker because the company apparently wants to give the inferior walkers work. So, it seems that you can't even choose which walkers you want. I see reviews where people really like their walkers - that's great, until you realize that they will never be able to care for your dog if they leave Trusty Tails. In essence, Trusty Tails is dictating who you can hire/contract with once you are outside of their service. As I said above, the owner made my dog walker sign a non-compete agreement!! So, if Trusty fires someone or they quit on their own, they can't work for one year as a walker!! Choose wisely - I believe that this company does not care about your pets, just their profits. The good walkers have left only to find they can't work. Don't let this terrible business profit because you don't think there are other alternatives! I've used both Hoboken Unleashed and Jersey City Unleashed - they are excellent. Choose a business that has a conscience. For Trusty Tails, the best walkers are all gone - and the owner has made sure (I believe as a form of punishment) that you can't use them elsewhere. The company must think that you'll stay as a customer because you have no choice; prove this company wrong!!! Disgraceful! I really hope people know what they are getting themselves into with this company. Also, Dog walkers beware!! Trusy Tails will curtail your ability to work if you sign the Noncompete! Shame on Trusty Tails. I believe that you are bad for dog owners and bad for dog walkers. If Trusty Tails was truly running a good business, it would have no need to make people sign restrictive covenants and hinder their ability to earn a living as a dog walker. read more

I use this service to look after my cats every time I'm out of town. Each time, my cats receive quality care, and I get to see a journal entry with pictures of the cats, the time and duration of the visit, and a message that details what happened during the visit. They even go so far as to send the same person for every visit, which is particularly valuable for making my shy cat feel more at ease. Every time I come home, the cats show almost zero signs of stress, and the home is in the exact state in which I left it. Our experience started ok, we were intro'ed to our two walkers - the girl that was to be our primary walker seemed very exciting to walk our pup, while the guy didn't even look at our dog while they were in our apartment for the meet and greet. Within a week we were told that the girl would no longer be walking our dog and we were stuck with the guy. After another week we had entirely new walkers, a trend that continued for the 2-3 months we were with TT. Every week we'd have new walkers until eventually the names of the walkers were removed from the walk summary form altogether (which leads me to believe other customers were noticing a similar trend and getting frustrated). When we went abroad on vacation we had informed them that we would be canceling walks for that week, and still received a text that Monday, "where is Garby? He's not in your apartment". This was especially concerning to me because our pup had minor neck problems that required some special care, and I became concerned that with the constantly rotating walkers, this message may not get across to all of them. It turned out that this confusion was due to them switching over to a new website system - but we were told it was our problem to switch over all our info and reschedule all of our walks. If I've done this for you once before, isn't it your responsibility to move the data over to the new system, not mine? Talk about inconvenient. We became increasingly frustrated about the numerous walkers, who would often tell me things like "we only walked a block because he wanted to sniff everything." So I'm paying someone to plop my dog on the sidewalk and let him sniff a brick for 30 minutes, awesome. What was most upsetting was the way they went about our cancellation. I sent a notice on a Thursday that Friday would be our last walk. I was very clear about this, and expressed my gratitude for their services and requested they leave the keys in the apartment Friday. The walker did not leave the keys, and the next week I came to find that someone came Monday. This was in November - they are trying to send my bill (for that unauthorized walk) to collections, have not returned my keys, and are claiming that I didn't follow their cancellation policy correctly. The only cancellation policy I can find on their site is that I must give 24 hour notice of cancellation - I gave 3 days' notice. They have also insisted I go onto the site and manually cancel all the walks scheduled for the future, after I emailed my cancellation notice. Needless to say this was an extremely unpleasant experience, I did not feel that my dog was getting the love and attention he deserved, and on top of that I am STILL missing my spare set of keys. read more

He is professional and caring and I know when we go away and he is taking care of our "baby" that she is in good hands. I can't say enough good things about JoJo and Trusty Tails. Their sitters have been taking care of our sweet boy Max for over a year now and he absolutely loves them. We've had a lot of travel this year and know that our Maxie cat is happy and well taken care while we're away for many many weekends and longer periods of 10 days or so. They have a great website so it's easy to book time and keep track of your reservations with the online calendar. Trusty Tails uses awesome new technology that allows walkers to check in when they arrive and to provide you with some post-walk notes and pictures. They are also very responsive when you contact them with questions or concerns. Finally, they are very proactive in the sense that they sent an email the day before an upcoming snowstorm confirming whether our pup will need a walk. I was really looking forward to working with a reputable business but the prices are outrageous for the experience I had. Nothing is worse than blaming the customer when you mess up. The website says call anytime you are unhappy and we will fix it and that did not occur for me. I should have been refunded my entire week for the level of stress I had to experience while I was away on a work trip. The point of relying on a service is for trust and peace of mind while you are away. My poor baby was left for 8 hours as a puppy, soiled herself and when someone finally came (at the wrong time) they didn't even let her outside because it was "raining". So she was not let out to potty for a full day. What example am I paying for?! Nor was her cage cleaned up of the mess she made. We came home to a smelly disaster. I also don't appreciate random walkers coming into my house without notice. The reason they gave me was I don't give them enough business to get a consistent walker. I still need to be notified of a stranger is entering my house. Otherwise, what is the point of the meet and greet with a dedicated walker?? I just feel like I should have been refunded. I'm not a Trusty Tails customer, but I am very thankful for one of their dog walkers. My 11-year old dog had just been released from 2 nights in the hospital and was taking his first walk. Not 3 feet out the door of our building, he squatted to poop and released more blood than I have ever seen before in my entire life. I screamed and then started shaking and crying. I was convinced my dog was going to die right there on the sidewalk... Not to mention the gigantic mess he had left just outside our building's door. Not thinking, I had also left my cellphone upstairs in my apartment, so I had no way to take a photo of what had happened for the vet or even to show my husband. Words can literally not describe what came out of the dog that day. I was trying to figure out what to do, when Zoewy walked up. A total stranger, but I figured it anyone would understand, it would be a dog walker. Without being grossed out or ignoring me, she jumped right in to help me out. She took photos of the blood and texted them to me, she held my dog's leash while I cleaned up the mess, so no one would step in it, and entertained my 2-year old, who was very upset that the focus was not on her! In my crazed state, I forgot to ask for her name or even properly thank her. I just wanted to get the dog upstairs, grab my phone and take him straight to the vet. Thankfully, Zoewy had texted me the pic. So later that day, once Hudson was readmitted back to the hospital and resting comfortably there, I texted Zoewy to thank her.  Every day since then, she has texted me to check on Hudson. Today, I ran into her while walking him... He just came out of the hospital on Saturday. I'm so glad she called me out by name, because I don't think I ever registered what Zoewy even looked like. She came right over to see how he was and give him a little cuddle. I'm a stay-at-home mom, so I don't usually have a need for a dog walker, but if I ever do, you can be sure I will look Zoewy, and you guys, up. I think the pictures say enough.... LOOK AT HOW CUTE MY BABY LOOKS! We just recently adopted this precious nugget after fostering him for a few weeks #fosterfail. Anyway, I was very nervous to take him to a groomer because I thought he looked adorable as is, but knew he needed a hair cut badly as he was still matted from being in a shelter. Erica texted me back right away after reaching out to make an appointment. The conversation was natural and pleasant. When we dropped him off Erica was honest with what she thought he needed done and we trusted her based on all of the great reviews I read. When he was done she sent me these two pictures and I almost fell over with all of the cuteness that came through the screen. Literally, a FLAWLESS haircut! He also got his nails clipped and teeth cleaned. Apparently he did great which she happily told me in between me screaming, "look how cute he is!" I absolutely recommend Wagging Tails. I have been with this company since their early days (5 years!) and I cannot say enough about them. When I first moved to Hoboken, I tried to do my due diligence and found some walkers, asked for their references, and gave them a call. What I got was a lot of flakiness. Wagging Tails has always been amazing. I have never had an issue. My walker Janis is amazing. She anticipates everything. Rain? She makes sure to ask have the towel on hand. Sees a door open that should be closed? She closes it. My dog doesn't have a normal walk (for one reason or another), she lets me know. Lastly, Wagging Tails has a computerized system to make scheduling and payment by credit card. Where most dogwalkers want cash only, Wagging Tails has an automatic billing system. Plus, all of your dog's information (e.g., vet contact information, emergency phone numbers, temperment) is kept in their profile. Think they are expensive? They are the same cost as all the other independent dogwalkers who ask for cash only who may, or may not, pick up your dog on time. They are as good as it gets hands down. read more

She has always acted with integrity and made the right decisions, even difficult ones, in order to preserve the reputation of her business. We had a very mixed experience with Trusty Tails - a few times, our walker needed to reschedule and ended up doing two walks nearly back to back, a few times, we found our "extra time" was spent watching our puppy play inside rather than walking, and a few times our walker forgot to feed our dog. We ultimately decided another walking company with more consistency in training and behavior approaches (i.e. with Trusty Tails we had a walker who encouraged our dog to walk with one of her gloves in his mouth so he wouldn't pick up sticks - a behavior that went against what we were trying to reinforce as what was 'acceptable to chew' at home). I thought that Jo Jo was fantastic as a walker, but we didn't consistently get to work with her. I liked that we received scans in and out of the walk, and about half of the time, we received pictures from the walk. I think Trusty Tails is a great company for well-trained large dogs, or perhaps for small dogs, but for a large "puppy-in-training" we decided we needed a company that would do walks consistent with how we were training at home. read more
