This store location, 4513 Commonwealth Centre Pkwy, Midlothian, VA, needs to work on their security…read moreprotocol before ACCUSING individuals of shoplifting! And the staff MUST DO BETTER to not profile their customers. Our daughter and her friend were FALSELY accused of shoplifting. The manager on duty, Rhiannon, called me, accusing our daughter and her friend of stealing merchandise and demanding we return the items to them or else she threatened to get the police involved. I encouraged her to contact them as well, and we will meet them there. Rhiannon was ADAMANT that our daughters shoplifted without reviewing the surveillance first. Unfortunately our teenage daughters experienced this traumatizing moment of racial profiling from Rhiannon, as this store is located in a lowly populated minority neighborhood. We DID NOT get an apology at all from Rhiannon for her false accusations! The owner or store manager needs to hold Rhiannon accountable and provide our daughters and all parents involved with a real apology!

This place is horrible. I cant tell you 100% positive due to legal reasons, but I will say I felt,…read morealong with the other parents involved, that our daughters were racially profiled/targeted. An underage associate claimed to have "seen as clear as day" that my daughter took some jewelry and put it in her bag. My daughter and her friend had left the store, shopped a few more in that area, returned to make another purchase (having receipts for all transactions), and then I picked them up. After dropping her friend off, the store manager, Rhiannon, called her friends phone (getting her number fr9m their rewards system or whatever they have) saying they were being accused of shoplifting and if they brought it back they would "squash" the issue, if not cops would get involved. Us knowing our daughters are completely innocent, decided to meet at the store to speak with the cop. My 15 year old was read her Miranda rights, embarrassed, and terrified. After more ignorant attitude from the "store manager", and me offering to let the cop search my daughters bags and purse two separate times, since we had not even been home yet, we were given a case number and sent on our way. 15 minutes after leaving there, the cop called and said the owner (the only person with access to the cameras) checked the footage from her home and said our daughters were innocent. So why is it that when this underage, zero AP training associate first accused them, it wasnt immediately brought to the owners attention. Then they wouldnt have had to call and threaten our underage children with charges, and they wouldnt have had to waste the cops time, who literally had a domestic violence call come over the radio that he had to ignore while speaking with us? This company needs to do better. The associate who falsely saw and accused our daughters left the scene immediately after telling the store manager "what she saw", called my daughters friend from her personal phone to apologize (again im assuming got her number from the the points system thing or that store manager). When I talked to her, I asked her if she was made to apologize and she said "they strongly suggested i did, but I would have wanted to anyways". Now let's say this was a girl who knew our kids from school (what I feel is a heavily racist school) and the camera angle was just a little off. Then what? Our daughters lives get ruined over their recycled cheap quality jewelry? These girls, myself, and the other parents involved deserve a lot more respect than we were ultimately given, and a good start would be a sincere apology. Also to add rhiannon did not apologize once, and just had this smug "im better than you, your daughter's are criminals" attitude the entire time.
