It says it has over 10,000 square feet of newly remodeled space. It has many rooms for birthday parties. It has basketball, pickleball an indoor playroom for the kids. It offers classes for adults teenagers and children. It even had a small arcade room. The area surrounding the recreation center is beautiful. Across the street is a large lake/pond with a water fountain with a walking trail. When you pull into this area it has a tree-lined road something you just don't see anymore. The facility had plenty of parking and was very clean and well maintained. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy with kids everywhere playing and enjoying the beautiful weather we had that day. I wish we had something like this in Sanford, FL. Good job Port Orange!

A handful of repeatedly egregious, disrespectful violators, have sadly ruined the experience for EVERY member. The logical solution would be to temporarily suspend these persons after their second violation, rather than sternly chastising ALL members in the little TV lounge area texting their boss or their family. This is what this small area should be for! We all have a life & need to communicate. The chairs screech when moved. Please do something! We need a place to sit and communicate. The cafe is too loud and the chairs screeching across the floor is hideous. Not a nice atmosphere; much too noisy and chaotic. The hospital cafeteria is 1,000 times more pleasant and has comfortable booths and no loud, screeching chairs or loud meetings or people on obnoxious speaker phones. This is not a Cafe! This gym cafe doesn't stand a chance to survive. The doctor is smart & kind; she deserves better chairs & a quieter area for her patrons. Put up a curtain if need be! Now it's like an ultra corporate military boot camp; no longer fun & relaxing. Were stalked by the phone militant towel gal. It's as if you committed a crime texting your boss. Some of us are working while there; we're working 'On Call' & are "required" to check our messages. It's 2026: people must WORK! It's boot camp chastising by one female lacking people skills; always acts stressed/annoyed; like she doesn't like her job & can't wait to go home. Please remove her from weekend shifts. She wants to rush us out of there. Many members notice this. Have none of the Managers or Supervisor's noticed how she talks to members in locker rooms? It's as if we are an imposition to her rolling her towel cart around. The other gal Claudia, with short dark hair & glasses is awesome. We resent being babysat. Were accomplished adults & it's an invasion of privacy. I don't need to be asked if I'm done with my towel! When done, I put it in the cart! She needs to leave members alone please. . We do not want to be micro-managed by this one towel gal. It's too aggressive & controlling.

Roper YMCA is one of the two closest locations to where I reside. So far it has been nice attending…read morethis location. I am greeted every time I check in. What I love about this YMCA location is that there is ample equipment and I am able to get a productive workout complete. So far all machines that I have used are in great working condition. Other members too are able to get their workout done with ease unlike other locations where people are on their phone, taking up the machines and not actually using them efficiently. I have gone early morning around 7 AM and I have also gone in the evenings around 7/8 PM. I have not taken any classes yet, but will soon explore some. My only one complaint is that I have unable to use the sauna due to it being out of order. Hopefully, they're able to repair it soon. I have also heard and read in other reviews that it is frequently being repaired. Hopefully that gets resolved soon.

We arrived before everything was already set up, and they let my two young children help with scattering some of the eggs beforehand, which was a really kind and memorable touch. They were also great about sharing information on other programs, including a YMCA date night service where parents can drop off their kids while they enjoy dinner and a movie, which honestly sounds like something we might try in the future. The setup itself was a classic "scatter and go" format, with plastic eggs spread across a field and kids released at the same time. While exciting, it always makes things pretty chaotic, and our two-year-old ended up with candy like hard Jolly Ranchers and gum, which aren't really appropriate for toddlers and felt like a bit of a miss given the age range advertised for the section we were told to participate in. For future events, it would be great if the eggs in the under-3 section were filled only with toddler-appropriate items to help avoid potential choking hazards and make the experience more enjoyable, and less stressful, for parents of little ones. The bigger issue, though, was the "golden egg" system. The idea is great, special eggs with prizes inside, but in practice it created some awkward dynamics. We saw families staking out golden eggs ahead of time, including one instance where a parent encouraged their child to literally sit with their hand on an egg before the event started. I'm not here to judge anyone, but it did take away from the fairness and fun of the hunt. A simple fix would be to go more "Willy Wonka" style next time, hide the golden prize as a surprise inside regular eggs rather than making them visible targets. That would keep the excitement while making things feel a lot more equitable for all kids. Overall, a fun event with great staff and good energy, but a few thoughtful tweaks could make it much more enjoyable and inclusive for everyone.

Beautiful new up to date lockers. ****************************** Ormond Y Master's, Hydro4, Masters. Wellness center, discounts on programs. Especially if you are a member of silver sneaker. Group exercise, including Les Mills, basketball. They also have indoor cycling, a kid zone and more. I forgot the ladies locker room. It has a sauna, a steam room, showers and.changing areas. (This is the best part for me) they have hair dryers and close-up mirrors so you can put your makeup back on.
