I would never take the time to write a bad yelp review but I am disappointed this has happened on multiple occasions. I came into the Isabelles Cabinet with my wife on Wednesday around 1 to the location next to Ciao. The blonde employee was helpful and kind. We went down to other location by the bridge and the brunette employee looked at us without saying a word. We have run into her before and avoid this store because of how unwelcoming she is. This has to be the dumbest store I've ever been to. They have two locations down the street from each other. I bought a green corset and went down the street to the other location only to find the exact same corset in a cuter color. I asked if I can exchange the colors and the girl said "We dOnt Do ExcHanGes" I busted out my receipt and it literally said I can exchange within 12 days. She then messages her manager and tells me I have to walk down the street to return the corset for store credit. Then walk back to her store to get the brown corset. How freaking annoying and inconvenient!! This place sucks read more

Got straight up lied to by an employee about their return policy. Found a shirt I wanted to take home and try on with a few pants and when checking out I specifically asked "can I return this item if I don't like it?" And she responded with "yes you have 12 days". Well I went back 48 hours later to return the item and the girl at the store wouldn't give me a return and told me I'm wrong and they had to have told me about their "no return, only store credit" policy. I wouldn't have bought the shirt if that was the case since I was unaware if I liked the shirt or not and when I asked for a refund since they were at fault she told me she can't because the person had to have told me the policy. After that experience i don't want to shop there anymore, really disappointing read more

Terrible customer service! Instead of being welcomed as we walked in the door at 7:30pm last night (30 minutes before the store closed), we were told by a female employee that they were closing in 20 mins. While in the store, I was told 3 times during our 11 minutes of shopping that was closing and that she was going to shut down the register. We were the only ones in the store and well aware that she was ready to close the store yet wanted to make a purchase. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome from the moment we walked in the door. We were out the door well before closing (7:45pm) with our purchase in hand. I would recommend some additional training of your young employees! read more

It was difficult to shop here . I was given major rude attitude. Was told that slacks couldn't be bought alone . needed to be bought with the shirt . 1 way to purchase , as a set . The shirt was $45 and the pants were $45 so (OK SO DO I get both for $45 ? No ! Ok just give me the pants bc I'm not paying for a shirt I don't want !!! Why they make up lies blindly bossing their own customer around ) . I felt unwelcome like I was bothering them . I really wanted to leave , it was like me being there was interrupting their night . One out of the two girls sat in complete and total defiance behind the register to where I was practically breathing on her bc the card reader so close , she didn't budge : didn't say anything at all . They had been chit chatting with rude tones and when I came up out the dressing room was crickets . not so much as an excuse me or hello , how are you . Terrible experience with gals that work there. Every single time is the same and I keep just walking out of the store. Cute clothes but the staff needs to train the gals to be more polite and helpful when looking for an item. I'm a local and always buying clothing on Main. Today I visited Isabelle's Cabinet in hopes of finding a dress. From the moment I stepped into the store I was met with the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered in a clothing store. The 2 young workers acted like they were doing me a favor by even letting me step into the store. The entire time I was there I was made to feel so incredibly unwelcome. The workers didn't offer once to assist me and instead chit chatted in the front. I will absolutely not be returning to this store and would strongly encourage others not to visit. Let me start by saying 1 that I absolutely love the clothes and accessories that this store offers. Always current trends and good prices and 2 I never write reviews on yelp... BUT let me just say that I've never walked into that store and been satisfied with the customer service. Especially today.. I had a gift card, which I've used in store before, and the associate told me I could only use it online even though I was in the store shopping. I went online to find my item which was out of stock. So even though the item I wanted was in the store I couldn't purchase it?? I asked her to call her manager and she "texted" her and within 30 seconds told me she said no I couldn't use my gift card. The staff was friendly but unfortunately the exchange policies put in place by ownership forced me to give the store 1 star. I wanted to exchange a jacket I bought my daughter for Christmas for a different size since they did not have the size in stock at the time of purchase but I was not able to do so since it had been a little more than 10 days. Went into Isabelle's Cabinet 3 times today! The first time was to try on a cute sale dress and the other two were to look for my lost car keys. The employee, Farrah so helpful all three times. She helped me look for them and searched the store with me. The clothes are also incredibly cute! Strongly recommend checking out Isabelle's Closet next time you're in Newport. Hopefully you're lucky enough to have someone as kind as Farrah there. read more

I got a super cute pink top from Isabelle's Cabinet as a gift. This has been one of my #1 favorite places to shop for a while and have gotten so many cute things here. Been supporting this business since the very start of the first shop on Balboa, However, the first time I ever put this pink top on it broke. I had been wearing for maximum of 10 sec and it broke. I took it into one of the Isabelle's on the island and they refused to give me store credit or anything at all. Nothing like getting a $50 top thats adorable for your birthday and not being able to wear it ever. Won't support this business again for a very long time. I have shopped in the store for the past three years when i first stumbled upon the sam clemente store. The girls in the store were pleasant and helpful when had any questions. I then started shopping at the newport store which is closer to where i live. Out of all the girls who work there, which is a decent handful are not friendly or helpful. Wish Maddie still worked there who was only one and typically only went into the store when she was working. Clothes are affordable and fast fashion. Agree with all other reviews girls working needed a class in customer service. I walked in today and was not even greeted by the two employees because I interrupted their conversation. Instead of offering to help me find something, they continued their conversation as if I wasn't there. After feeling discouraged from their attitude toward their customers, I left and said thanks on my way out only to get a judging stare instead of a "have a nice day!" The few times I've come in here the girl working is always so sweet and helpful. I believe her name is Amy, she basically helped come up with a whole outfit for me. I was looking for a date night outfit and what she picked out was sooo cute! Isabelle's is my new favorite lil shop! Oh and Balboa is also adorable, just make sure if you're meeting friends there or something get there like 10-15 mins early so you can find a parking spot, it can be tricky sometimes. read more

Living on the island I frequently pop into Isabelle's cabinet and it's always the same- the employees never greet you- they are either busy texting or eating. They don't ask if you need help and when you ask for a fitting room they seem to get very offended. Cute clothes but the employees discourage me from buying. read more

Great clothing options and really appreciate the staff being so friendly and accommodating. I bought a top and pants through their online store, but they were too small. I walked into the store hoping I could get the correct sizes, knowing I would most likely have to return the others through the online store. They had the pants in the right size, the top was in stock, just at another location. The owner volunteered to bring the top over for me.
