Made a pit stop at Isamar before going to El Yunque. It's right next to the entrance to a resort so keep an eye out! The place looks a little run down from the outside. I was a little disappointed that they did only had 2-3 types of pastry displayed at 10AM?! I tried the guava and cheese danish while the bf got the cuban sandwich. The cuban sandwich was pretty filling, not as heavy, and toasted of course. They claim they have the best bread ... probably not the best but it was good. I wish I could say the same thing about the danish. The guava tasted more like strawberries and the cheese felt dry, most importantly it wasn't flaky enough for me. I would've gave Isamar 2 stars if not for the cuban sandwich. Overall, a decently priced local bakery located on PR-3.

Great Cuban sandwiches. They were huge and way cheaper than eats at the Wyndham where we were saying. Would stop here again!

Great spot for breakfast. Workers were very nice, and it's clear this is a local, not tourist, place, but we felt very welcome.

Great place to go if you're staying at the Wyndham resort up the road and don't want to pay a fortune for food.

And, they were not wrong. The place is located on the corner of the busy highway and the street that leads up to the Wyndham Rio Mar resort. There is limited parking however you can park along the street and then walk down. The bakery itself is connected to another restaurant that serves broiled chicken and other delicious Puerto Rican bites. We had breakfast there and it was delicious. We ordered a beef pastelillo (empanada), a sandwich called bocadillo (IYKYK), lattes, and an egg scramble that came with a side of cloud bread (pan sobao). Everything was delicious here, again like most places you can share the breakfast except for the beef empanada. I ate half my sandwich and took the other half to eat on the way home. The ambience is nice, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The place is clean and there are plenty of tables and seating available. The chicken restaurant next-door, which they also run, was not open yet. I am definitely planning on coming back to have breakfast yet again and also try the chicken place next door. Enjoy! Ps. We were so hungry and a little short on time so unfortunately, I was not able to get pictures of the other food we ordered.

After a day at the beach we de died to get a snack before heading back to the hotel. Once again…read morefound this place on Yelp. Delicious bread and coffee - a little bakery with inside and outside seating.

We rotated all three delicious dishes at least twice. Great chewy texture on the waffle, with more toppings than one could ask for. The benedict was a perfect mix of sweet, savory, and sea! But the cuban sandwich won the day. That roasted pork, girrrrlllll. They have indoor and outdoor seating and a full bar, too. Lovely jazz music for ambience, great vacation vibes. Split the delicious spring mix salad with crunchy prosciutto and figs followed by 12oz rib eye medium rare with a demi glace sauce and changed mashed sweet potatoes for regular mashed potatoes, served with seasonal vegetables of asparagus and green carrots, $48. I was nervous when I saw how thin the steak was, and the demi place looked like gravy. But the steak was a perfect medium rare and quite tasty. The sauce was different, but good. Ended the meal with a fruit tart $6.19, very good! Shout out to Aleisha for being our delightful waitstaff. Returned for Sunday brunch. Enjoyed Cafe latte, oj&vodka.
