I have seen it forever, but will admit this was my first time actually stopping in to see what was offered. First reaction - a really nice selection of saltwater and freshwater pearls, reflecting choices from black to baroque to white pearls. Black pearls, white pearls, a mix of colors, this place has a ton of options. What I really appreciated was an honest assessment of each option I looked at - oysters can be finicky with pearls, and create perfection as well as a "perfection" that would appeal to many of us. What I really appreciated was no push to upsell, just a genuine aloha to help me and other people in the store find something that was right for them. This store doesn't have a lot of local reviews, so I felt it important to give a local. honest review. Frankly, I expected just to do a "just looking" walk through - after all, regardless of what tourists think, pearls are not found in our waters, let alone oysters - but the personal service, and the comfort, even glee of pointing out what may not be "perfect" but will have character, is what sets apart a personal sales experience from mass market. Ultimately, I chose a fantastic looking black saltwater pearl with an "imperfection" that played beautifully into the gold clasp. The price was quite reasonable, the help in shopping made it a learning experience as well as a discovery. I don't know anything about pearls, I'm from Oahu and we don't have pearls/oysters here, but I loved this little shop and the honest discovery. If you are local playing tourist for the day like me, or a tourist, for crafted jewelry, this is a very nice spot.

We took a peek inside and promised to return after lunch... And we did! I got a kawaii straw topper that looks like holiday gingerbread. My niece got a rare Red Panda plushie! We were so happy to get reasonably priced, original items (we had never seen these things before). Service was friendly and efficient! The interior of the shop was bright and clean! The shared parking was free! The variety of merchandise ranged from practical (like Elmer's glue, hair ties, pens, refrigerated beverages, zippered pouches, post-it notes, and totebags) to fun (like stickers, fuzzy keychains, and miniature Funko Pop characters). We'll be back when we're in the area!

Such a great local shop in the Matsumoto's shopping center. If you appreciate well-made pieces, good energy, and supporting North Shore businesses, Mahina is a must. Eclectic, clean, vintage and Cute! They had the clothes neatly displayed and had womens, childrens and a men's section. They have household, items, bags, jewelry and accessories. The better quality items were higher priced but less than retail. There are clearance baskets for $3/ea. And some really neat finds. If you're ever in the area check them out. Oh and the clothes they have are donated and people who donate receive credit vouchers to purchase items from the store. Go Green!

We were approached by Shy while walking towards the entrance of Dole Plantations. She had a basket filled with coupons for customers to draw. My sisters and I each drew a coupon for 50% off an oyster, which I thought was not bad of a price. She had each of us select an oyster from the bowl. She then had us knock on the oyster's shell 3 times and say 'aloha'. She helped us crack open the oysters. I was a little bummed because I thought I was able to crack it myself haha. Each oyster has different colors of the pearls. If interested, you can add it to any jewelry on their display cases. The pieces were pricey. Luckily they offered silver as it was a bit more within my budget. I decided to get a pendant with a silver chain. Both separate cost. The pendant was $95 and 16" chain was $25. Shy was super patient with us. We spent a lot of time there as we needed time to decide and such. She was not pushy for sales at all. We didn't feel pressured in purchasing anything. She was wonderful. At the end, each of us got pendants and chains to go with your pearls. Our pieces came out beautifully. If it wasn't for the price, I would definitely come back here again if I'm visiting.

We stumbled across this vintage store after stopping at the Surfer's Coffee Shop that my friend…read morewanted to introduce me to. We hardly ever get to Wahiawa to walk around and this was one of those Saturdays where we wanted to explore, My friend is sooo into vintage Aloha Shirts and they had a good selection at decent prices. He ended up purchasing two at $20 each, both were in great condition and not the "run of the mill" stuff. We did have a great chat wtih the very personable owner who gave us a tour of the building which was purchased by their non-profit. We were very impressed with the apartments behind the store front where many of the volunteers are housed along with their facilities for homeless. They had restrooms and showers that the homeless could use (they were timed entry) along with a pantry where food was distributed. They also had classrooms including an art and dance room to get troubled younger people interested and out of the streets. It's great to know you are helping a good cause when you are shopping!
