Just happy to check it out for us and make sure it was safe. Not even a discussion about billing us for it. There was a recommendation for better bearings, which we took. I read some pretty awful reviews about the customer service here, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I hustled in with my normal jovial jive. Mike kindly greeted me and led me to exactly what I thought I was looking for, Cobian sandals. While Cobian's weren't at all it for me (too tight in the middle of the foot), as I browsed Mike perfectly balanced providing support/giving me product knowledge with allowing me time to try things on slash check things out. In other words, anytime I had questions, which I had quite a few, he was there, but not in a hovery way. He informed me of other products, but really only when it was appropriate. As soon I tried my first pair on, Mike let me know where to find the nearest mirror. I knew I was leaving the store with sandals today, and Mike made that experience a breeze-no hiccups, no funny business, just excellent customer service. It was easy to find street parking this day, but there are a few tiny parking spaces in front of the building with a 15 minute time limit, however. They had some skate vids on the telly for some entertainment and motivation. The guys running the shop were super chill and gave us good prices for decks, trucks, t-shirts, bearings, and grip tape today. We would visit this place again for sure.

We learned about Soul Grind and were told all of our options since this was our first time buying a skateboard. We have zero experience. Like, nobody in our family has ever ridden a skateboard prior to our visit to this store. The shop is small but has everything any skateboard enthusiast needs. I learned that most skateboard shops are really clothes and accessories retail stores with a spatter of actual skate boards. Soul Grind has exactly what they advertise...Skateboards. With Olivia's help, and with much attention to detail, we chose a beautiful black board with red wheels. If you are new to skateboarding like we are and want to go to a store with a great selection of boards and even better customer service, you need to stop by Soul Grind. I haven't skated in ten years and for quit a while now, I've been feening to skate. I bought a…read moreboard to skate for fun, exercise and just get back into an old hobby. The day I bought it, I wasn't planning on buying one but I was going to the beach in I.B. and I came across this skate shop so i figured I would peep it out for fun; I'm effing glad I did. I was browsing around the store and through the decks for about fifteen minutes before I even considered actually buying a new deck. I met Salvador senior and Salvador Jr who are super chill guys, laid back, knowledgeable and just rad guys, seriously. So, after testing out about seven blank decks, i finally found the right size and it was a go. I ended up buying a blank deck, black magic grip tape, bones bearings and shorty's hardware for $35!!!!! Since the wheels I had on my trucks were beyond rusted, it took the father and son team over an hour to take off the wheels and intense hammering to remove the bearings. Not only that, they also threaded the axle on my trucks to remove any rust to refurbish them, polished everything and lubricated the wheels and bearings. I can't believe how helpful these guys were. I owe them big time! I ended talking to the son for a while and he hooked me up with a skate shop T, skate magazines and a handful of stickers. We always have such a good experience. I have no skate background but my daughters are getting into…read moreit and we have gotten all their gear here. James helped set the girls up with their boards, helmets, pads and he is always so knowledgable and nice. He was patient with my young daughters and let them take their time picking out grip tape and helped explain the board as he put it together. Definitely recommend this shop :)
