I went in there for my sons 4th b day and the fellas did an amazing job at helping us feel welcomed. I have three boys and they are wild but the team seemed unfazed by their energy. I tried walking into another shop and was not welcome. I asked some friends about a Muslim friendly shop and was referred to this shop which surprisingly I've been shopping at since I was a kid. The boys are happy with their board and have not let them go since they got them. I tried calling to get the names of the guys that helped me but I wasn't able to get a hold of anyone. Our favorite shop of all time. Jesus, the owner, is one of the best human beings I've ever met. The shop has everything you could ever want and usually the prices are lower than you can find in the internet. Greatest customer service and selection in all of Imperial Brach. Even my husband came back to the beach telling me what a great experience he had interacting with the employees. If you know my husband that says so much. He doesn't compliment ease. We came in looking for a few shirts, flip flops and maybe some stickers and found it all. We've been in multiple times this trip already for hats as well as other things as well. I love a place that makes you feel so welcome and not pressured to hurry and find what you need. I loved the laid back feel. My nephew has also rented surf boards from here many times . Prices were really great for being a shop right on the beach. My daughter was really loving the shop dog. I've shopped here since 2006. The workers are always chill and cool to talk to. I never understood why some surfers I knew back then didn't like the place. They're probably too much of a stiff. Great surf shop and completely packed to the rim with anything you would need to surf or just look like you surf (haha).

I don't think I'll go back to that store. I am a delivery driver for Amazon and I parked right outside the store to take my lunch. I finished eating early so I just walked in and looked around to kill some time. I went straight to the back because that's where all the adult clothes are and I was looking around for maybe like couple minutes. I walked back towards the front because I wanted to ask the employee if they had a clearance rack. While walking towards the front a female employee was already walking towards me and she asked me if I needed help with anything. I asked her about the clearance rack and she pointed me in the right direction. I was just looking around browsing through clothes towards the back of the store and every time I looked the female employee was there. Mind you the store was full of people and I was the only Mexican person in the store lol I was the only one looking around all the way in the back and she kept being back there as well just standing around. The worst part is every time I was looking through a T-shirt rack I can see her from the corner of my eye she kept looking at me. Every time I looked up she kept checking the time on her watch. Mind you again the store is full of people towards the front and I'm in the back and her focus is on me and only me. i'm not trying to pull the race card or anything but I'm not sure if she probably thought I was trying to steal or something but it's common sense I'm in my Amazon uniform and my van is parked right outside the surf shop lol I could be wrong maybe it was all just a coincidence but it really didn't feel like it. I was really uncomfortable just trying to shop while on my lunch and I still get spied on. She wasn't really trying to hide it either she was making it known that she was watching me. Not sure what it could've been but yea, she kept watch on me the whole time I was in there and didn't say anything. Great store though, not so sure about that employee lol read more

If you need a good wetsuit for the wintertime Jesus will answer ur questions. Him and his worker are very knowledgeable on surfing,skating, bodyboarding and other apperrals. They do rentals too on wetsuits and surfboards. One thing about this shop is that they have friendly atmosphere. And if u want discounts Jesus is the one to ask. U can put things on layaway to, like Kmart. All in all their service in the shop is very friendly. They have wall to wall action sports stuff. All the 3 S. It's close on Sundays though. Shop hour is 11-7 thru M-F. Saturday I think it's 10-6. read more

Hit and miss/ultimately laid back customer service but a shop that covers the bases so well it still warrants a 4. If there has been one constant pillar in my life it has to be the Hut. Going 12 years back into the way back machine when I'd return almost on the daily, always trying to weasel my way into getting a new blank deck or new threads on the cheap, I couldn't get enough of this place. Fast forward umpteen years and while I no longer ride I still swing by for shoes and the occasional hoodie or T. Service hasn't changed a bit, but what can you expect from a shop plopped right smack owlen the edge of the beach. Dudes are laid back and don't really acknowledge your presence outside of a mild 'heey', but hey they're just just hanging out like they were 12 years ago and that's fine with me. read more

In 40 years of surfing in San Diego, this is definitely one of the most friendly, helpful surf shops in San Diego !!! The owner, Jesus, doesn't probably even know my name, but stops whatever he's doing to say hello every time he sees me. Always great deals on surfboards, wetsuits, clothing, and everything else surf related. They totally hooked me up getting an O'neill wetsuit repaired that I bought somewhere else. They drove it to the factory and picked it up for me free of charge, even though they knew I didn't buy it from them (WOW). (Totally puzzled that someone would accuse them of being racist against Asians. They're a Christian surf surf shop (closed on Sundays) and they're into martial arts, as evidenced by the sticker on their front door ... might have been something else, including just an "off" day, people have them. Sometimes they go out of their way to say "hello" to IB locals or return customers ... maybe that's what happened. ... but racist, not even!!! ) I usually show up in a dress shirt and a tie (because I'm stopping in during a lunch break), but they've never given me any kind of "you're an old kook, and can't surf as well as we do" vibe. Awesome surf shop. Went in to get a new leash, came out with a vest (really hard to find on my size), two sets of fins (great deals), shoes for my wife, sunglasses, the exact leash I was looking for... Had to run away before I spent all my money. As I told the owner, it was great to find a place with such a wide array of options. Most shops just get what they sell best.
