WOW! What a beautiful store. A place for everything, and everything in its place. It was clean, it smelled good, and the music was jammin'. When the system started playing "Africa" by Toto, and I had my new sandals in hand, I knew it was more than serendipity, 'I was meant to be here'. I read some pretty awful reviews about the customer service here, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I hustled in with my normal jovial jive. Mike kindly greeted me and led me to exactly what I thought I was looking for, Cobian sandals. While Cobian's weren't at all it for me (too tight in the middle of the foot), as I browsed Mike perfectly balanced providing support/giving me product knowledge with allowing me time to try things on slash check things out. In other words, anytime I had questions, which I had quite a few, he was there, but not in a hovery way. He informed me of other products, but really only when it was appropriate. As soon I tried my first pair on, Mike let me know where to find the nearest mirror. I knew I was leaving the store with sandals today, and Mike made that experience a breeze-no hiccups, no funny business, just excellent customer service. The same is to be said for the rest of the lively crew, including the associate who rung me up. Truly, nothing but good vibes here. Thank you to the entire crew! He managed to help me pick out some legit gear with a combo pack that was cost effective rather than purchasing 1 pack and also gave me some pointers for the type of lifestyle I have when it comes to shoes on and off track. I called in today for an inquiry regarding a snow gloves. An employee by name of " Culton" answered the phone and responded rude and unprofessional, then when I requested to speak with a manager, he hung up the phone one me. I called back in twice and no one answered my phone. I waited 10 min and called in again. Someone else answered the phone, I requested to speak with a manager. Finally, a manager by name of "Mike" answer the phone and as a manager he was inconsiderate regarding customer concern. Now I'm into surfing to keep staying active so picked up a wetsuit last year for a good deal on sale and now just got a sweet board from them. I have heard about this place from multiple people and in my pursuit of a wetsuit, who gave me the perfect excuse to finally check it out. Starting with the walls on the exterior, I love that they have it all decked out with surf and skate. Very cool look. The moment I walked in I was greeted by an employee who offered assistance and I really appreciated that. The store itself is actually pretty full of merchandise but they have done a good job and spreading it all out with their two floors. The moment I walked upstairs and headed towards the wetsuit area, another employee asked if I needed help and was quick to do so. He answered all of my questions, gave me some good advice and what to look for according to my needs. A third employee approached me after trying the wetsuit on and gave me his opinion which I valued because it seemed like everyone there had experience with their products. Another thing that stood out to me was the range of prices. With everything, you're going to pay for what you get in regards to quality, but I appreciated that they showed me both the low and high and plus everything in between when it came to wetsuits. I'm guessing the same goes for all of the other surf, snowboarding, and skate options. Without question, I will go here again when the need arises. Came here for some snowboarding equipment near the end of the season. I had previously checked out the website but it's a ghost site and they don't use it anymore. Don't let that fool you though, they have so much equipment for so many sports. I loved the selection available and if I could have I would have purchased a board and boots right then and there. But I will be back for it bc it is the only shop with everything I need available in stock. Walked in one day after work exhausted and needed to get a new bib, goggles, helmet and gloves! The boys at hangar 94 did not disappoint! Walked upstairs and was helped by Tanner who helped grab a new pair of gloves & sized me in a men's bib because my quads did not fit the largest female size.... I'm a proud & sturdy 5'10" 185 lbs. He also helped with my gloves & they kept my hands warm and dry the whole day! Walked downstairs and Trevor sold me on a new pair of goggles and a helmet! Mad props for helping me style a pretty rad combination. Both these gentlemen had great customer service and made my overall buying experience just so much more enjoyable. Surf and skate gear and apparel store. Large and well stocked. Prices comparable to shopping online. I can see what the other reviewers are saying about how they follow you around the store. If you want help and have questions it's good, but if you just want to browse on your own in peace, you may feel uncomfortable. I think that's how they deal with shoplifters, by keeping an eye on every customer. I guess I can understand that, since lately there's no law enforcement or consequence for criminals. They only do exchanges and no returns, but they have a sign on the wall that says they do returns, so I was confused about it at first. They should probably take down the sign. Right by the mall. Good variety of items, big store. It's nice to be able to try things on. Merchandise is overpriced here. Even though it's on sale, price is still higher than on Amazon. One of the wetsuits I was interested in was "on sale", but still $70 more than on Amazon. I still wanted to support them. I asked manager if he is willing to match the price, but he said they don't. What's really ridiculous here is their return policy. I've purchased roller skates I didn't end up needing. That item was supposedly some "super sale" (which was still more expensive than on Amazon, but I saw it afterwards. It was about $15 difference, not that big of a deal, but kind of because the item was $60 at the store). I came to the store 1 week after to return it. I didn't have a receipt, but since they don't do refunds at all, I thought it wouldn't matter because I was going to do store credit anyway. Cashier said that when it comes to returning "super sale" items, it can be only exchanged for a different size or color. Normally, you as a customer, get told are things like that before the purchase, but the cashier pointed to return signs. Yeah right. Off course people read that. I firmly said that I don't need this item. She's made an "exception." I told cashier when I've purchased it, but she asked to find bank statement. Ok, no problem, I found it. She asked what day it was purchased, so she could look up the transaction. I asked what was the point for me to pull up my bank statement if I could just tell her when I've purchased it. She said there are "other things" she'll have look at. Yeah, there was no other things, she just felt necessary to be pain in the ass. She gave me store credit. It wasn't even a card. It was simply a paper slip. We are in 2024. Businesses are willing to do anything for a customer to come back. I will be back since I have those $60 handwritten on a paper slip to spend. Would I want to be back there? Absolutely not! I hope I can give this store credit to someone else if it's even allowed. read more

Store is rude and unprofessional. Maybe I got an aggressive employee but will not be coming back here ever again even though I live 5 mins away. All I wanted to do was try on some snowboard boots from a few different brands and walk out the store with something worth getting for the upcoming season. This place is amazing if you a board lover, I mean Snowboard, Surfboard, Skateboard. There is everything that you need for one of those sports. Huge selection of wetsuits, Snowboard boots, you name it at affordable prices. I ve been their customer for over 2 decades. They also are able to hot wax your Snowboard and have it ready within 20 minutes, unlike most other places that need 2-4 days, when it is not even a season yet. I once came over 15 minutes later then they take last appointment for waxing (6 pm) and they still got it done. Totally recommend. read more

I will never shop at this store again. I went in today to buy a body board and was followed by an employee the entire time I was in the store. It made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. Upon entering the store I was passed by three employees none of whom greeted me or made any other sort or acknowledgement towards me and my son. With the help of a knowledgeable employee (who gave real-life scenarios of why I should choose "these" vs. "those") I was able to pick a dope pair of goggles, and headed upstairs for Snow Pants. The dude upstairs was super helpful in explaining the difference between all the styles, and was patient with me needing to try on 8-10 pairs before I found something that fit. I Was looking to buy a pair of goggles seen them for $140 on Amazon wanted to buy them in store and support a local shop but they had it marked up for to $229.99 . This store is a JOKE in terms of "caring" about the costumer! I bought a snowboarding jacket, before Christmas, from the brand Volcom, which is double zipper, top and bottom. Let me tell ya, every single damn time that I get down the mountain, the borrow zipper is opening. I went to the store after Christmas, after riding 4 days with my brand new jacket, and talked to one of the managers about. He told me that I probably wasn't zipping it right (hahahaha yeah yeah, you're right). Exchange it was not even a point, smh. I really wanted that jacket so, I told him that I'd be with the jacket, ride again and if happen again, I'd come back and he told me that I'd be able to do something (probably change for another jacket or credit store). I went to ride this week and it sure happened again. I went to the store and talked to another manager, since the one that I talked before was not in the store or didn't want to deal with it again. The other manage said the same fucking bullshit: I don't see it happening, you might be zipped wrong and they have nothing to do so I should deal with the brand, Volcom. I told him that I can record a video riding and arriving back to the lift so he can see LLLMAAAAOOOO... They literally like insulted that I was dumb or like lying, you know?! I came here with my son to buy him some new shoes. He's been really into skateboarding recently and wanted a certain type of shoe. Hanger 94 is very well stocked and has a huge selection of skate shoes. The customer service was decent and they helped my son pick a shoe that was good for him. My son was very happy with his new shoes and went on trying to convince me to buy him basically everything else in the store. Instead of spending more money, I gave my son some of the free popcorn they have available! Love that they have that! It's extremely unfortunate I have to write this review because before today I loved hanger 94 and had nothing but great things to say about it. There's honestly no other place like it when it comes to your active sportswear. The prices have always been a little steep, but like the saying goes... you get what you pay for. Unfortunately after today, I'm gonna be searching for other places to buy my gear as I even told the manager that as I walked out their doors, "I will be writing a review about you guys" so here I am. No problems until I got before I got to the front of the line. As I'm walking to the counter I explain that I'm here just for a return. And before I can even finish my sentence someone responds with "we don't do returns only exchanges or store credit". I explain to them that when I purchased these board shorts two weeks ago I specifically asked about the return policy and I was told that as long as I keep the receipt and the tag on and the condition is as you bought them, Then I would receive a full return. Now, Full disclosure, I had full intentions on exchanging the shorts out anyway for a different style and size. They were for my son As a present. He liked the shorts, but they were too big and he wanted a different color. Has been a manager myself, I wanted to see how Their manager would handle this situation. The employee takes off to get the manager. She explain to her my issue and she repeats the same thing the employee says. "Sorry we don't do returns, only exchanges and store credit." So I explain to her "when I purchased those shorts here a couple weeks ago your employee told me I could do a cash return I specifically asked for that reason and she told me as long as the receipt tag and condition was good, she said no problem." This was her response and why I will not be shopping at him and 94 again I will tell others why they should not shop there either. She said " sorry, so did you want to just keep them?" keep in mind these are $60 pair of board shorts that are completely useless to me since they don't fit anybody in my family. I said " why would I keep them they don't fit. I think that's kind of messed up I can't return these, you know I'm gonna have to blog about this." This was her response "well you know we're small company, it's quite common for a small company to do this". What, to lie to your customers? I didn't say that out loud but that's all I needed to hear to end my relationship with hanger 94. It's not about the money because if it was I wouldn't be shopping at here 94 in the first place the place is a little pricey. But the whole lying to a customer just to get a sale thing, that kind of service really gets on my nerves. And she didn't even try to right the mistake. Instead she made an excuse for her employee and acted like That happens all the time and I need to get over it. And now that I think about it, that wasn't my first time dealing with attitude at the store either, oh but to be lied to and then to have the manager make an excuse for her employee lying is where I draw the line. $60 isn't a ton of money but it's substantial and should not be disregarded as it was today. I went online as soon as I left the store to see if I can find the same shorts for a cheaper price and sure enough for $42 they sell them at Macy's almost $20 cheaper. Sorry hanger, that was uncalled for. I even told her Right after she made an excuse for her employee that I was gonna blog about this. Sorry guys, that may be Carmen the way you do business at your store, but I will not shop at at the store that tolerate that kind of customer service and either do any of my friends or family. I guess you can afford to lose a few customers, most can't during this difficult time. More power to you. My 12-year-old son saved up $ for a year to buy his 1st surfboard. Today he spent $302.50 on a Raven surfboard then came home & noticed that the front says URFBOARD (instead of SURFBOARD). I called & spoke to managers Damon & John... Although this is a huge manufacturer's defect, it doesn't affect the way the surfboard rides so they wouldn't give him even $1 back. Yes, they did offer to let him swap it for another board but they don't have another board in his size. My son is no longer excited about his first surfboard. He is embarrassed to take it to the beach now for fear he will be teased about it. My son was so excited and is now absolutely heartbroken.
