We've been up there for trainings for our Dog. My wife and I live in the East Bay but we've been…read morewilling to travel up to Sonoma for trainings because we've really enjoyed the different service dog trainings, especially the ones offered by Brian Gallindo. We've done two different classes and our dog has enjoyed them. The place is a very nice, new and well-done facility in Healdsburg. It's easy to find via Google Maps and there's a plenty of space to walk and train dogs. We've never tried their pet adoption operations but when we're there it seems to be a pretty good environment.

I am a veterinary professional and this shelter is hands down, the best and most caring facility…read morethat I've ever been to. We adopted our dog there and Gabe is one of the most caring, knowledgeable and kind professionals that I've met. His first priority is the wellbeing of the animals in their charge. He is worth his weight in gold and a wonderful source of animal behavioral knowledge. Secondly, our cat disappeared in May of 2017 and after doing everything we could to find him, we feared the worst. Months went by and we relocated from Sonoma County to the Central Coast. We were shocked to receive a call from Gabe, letting us know that our cat was found, and he was able to locate us thanks to a microchip. FOLKS, MICROCHIPS WORK! But remember to always have your information current! Because we live much farther away, the staff, and especially Alison the AMAZING Shelter Director were all very accommodating and patient about us getting to Healdsburg to retrieve him, because it fell on a Holiday weekend. In the meantime they kept communication ongoing, and because our cat was underweight, they were especially concerned for his health and did everything they could to find something palatable to help him eat. Our kitty is now home and thriving again. Healdsburg is SO fortunate to have such a beautiful afacility and such a caring staff for the local animal population!

We adopted two cats from this rescue, and we were treated with courtesy and professionalism…read more Blythe is incredibly dedicated to the animals she cares for while finding them decent homes. She appears to be the real deal. When our cats were old enough to be spayed/neutered, the staff provided transportation for the surgery to and from the vetinerian. There was no cost to us for the surgey Some of the animals Blythe takes in are at the end of the road- injured, disabled, recovering from trauma or illness. Most folks don't have the patience or time to save an animal in dire straits. It's admirable, to say the least. These Karens complaining about smelling pee or getting feelings hurt by staff are just being petty, trying to discredit these folks doing good work. Find something more productive to do. Blythe and crew are doing a tremendous job.

Found my best friend here! Very caring people that save pets lives. The owner goes out of her way…read moreto make sure these pets are taken care of. To anyone complaining or reading complain to here about smell or presentation, this is not a puppy farm or puppy mill this is a place in which animals are brought to be helped and saved. I read someone complaining about the smell, of course neglected dogs and cats who are being saved are going to have a smell. Here is a perfect example. I was speaking with Blythe and she tells me she's gonna have to call me back. I contact her the next day and find out that someone had randomly left five dogs somewhere while moving. She stopped everything she was doing to prioritize, saving those dogs so of course when she went to get them, it was not like she was picking them up from the groomers, but the exact opposite and yes they smelled obviously it's not her fault the dogs were left in that state, she did everything she could to get them healthy get their shots up to date and to make sure to find suitable homes. When I first read the negative review, I was skeptical and i was being very critical. Don't believe everything you read here keep in mind. There is a bunch of people trying to sell puppies vs save them.

We saw they had a litter of Orange tabbies which is what we wanted! Tried to tell us they were all…read morefrom same litter...not true! I picked the runt whom had a little diarrhea...Asked for a vet, she didn't even look but poo pood me w "shelter stress". Well we weighed him at home and he had lost 3/4 lb since his last wt! They didn't notice...I know they are busy and all the people there were friendly...I wasn't planning on taking care of a sick baby. Our vet took excellent care of him so he's gonna make it! The 500$ kitten MY CONCERN IS HE COULD HAVE LANDED WITH SOMEONE ELSE WHO WOULDN'T KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR HIM AND THESE ILLNESSES OF THE STOOL ARE HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS ! The vet at the pound SHOULD have examined him I believe before we left. He was obviously the skinny one with poop on him! PLEASE CONTINUE TO ADOPT FROM HERE...U MAY BE THEIR LAST CHANCE. The other animals all looked HEALTHY to me, Mic RN

My childhood elderly cat was wrongfully picked up at the same location his chip had attached to it,…read morethe number on it was outdated so we weren't contacted about it until we received a letter via mail at the 7 day mark when they initiate euthanasia. They claimed he had a "mass in his stomach" we were unaware of. When we asked if it was terminal, they said they didn't even test it to see what it was. We found out after he was already put down. My family is heartbroken and crying over this. That was our boy. He was out front of his home. He was put down in a pound; had none of his humans around him to comfort him. I cannot believe this happened. Looking into suing this place. Please do not go here unless you're trying to save the animals they have from facing the same fate. We'll miss you forever my Jack.
