I scheduled and canceled Ollie's euthanasia appointment four different times because I just wasn't ready, and they never once made me feel guilty or pressured. When the time finally came, they gave Ollie such a peaceful, dignified passing, and gave me the space and support I needed. They listen to us and treated the bird well. They professionally trimmed his beak (several times now) and we always got the bird back in a relaxed state. At other places we got him back bleeding or in shock. Vet and techs really seems to care for the animals and so far we have not been pressured to constantly get a checkup with the beak trimming, like in many other places.

My dog fell in bn love with Dr. Capurro. She explained things clearly. I don't know much of my dog's history since she was adopted and I wanted for the Vet to see her while my dog is healthy to set a level of what she is like. Dr. Lankes is very knowledgeable and compassionate about all kind of critters, and it was great for me to have a vet that could see all my animals and could do all the paper work for exportation and exportation. It was especially helpful for the exotics, as it is very difficult to travel with a bird and a CITES listed snake. Dr. Lankes, on top of her expertise and experience with exotics (and domestic animals) health, is also very thorough, and everybody from USDA to the European customs and wildlife agents were very impressed by the way all my paperwork was done. There is no place for chance or mistake for the exportation and importation of live animals, especially when they are quarantines and potential serious health threat involved like avian flu, or a CITES animal. The paper work can be a little confusing and complicated, but Dr. Lankes navigated those shady waters successfully, and got us all on shore. I also very appreciated that Dr. Lankes was willing to do house visits: as a result, she was able to set up the quarantine parameters in my house for the bird and snake, and they were able to be quarantined at home, which saved everybody a lot of stress. The health certificates were also established at my house, which was also a lot more comfortable and easy on everybody. On top of being a very knowledgeable, thorough and reliable vet, Dr. Lankes is also a very nice person, and she's been very accommodating, helpful and supportive in my endeavor. The last days before departure were pretty stressful and Dr. Lankes was very understanding and has been of great support to me during this time. She made herself available for any questions or concerns that arose at the last minutes and got involved in finding solutions. Dr. Lankes is also involved and appreciated in the community and rescue groups. Thanks to her networking and recognition in the community, she helped me sell my snake tank and other accessories before my departure. In conclusion, I am very pleased and impressed with Dr. Lankes services, and I highly recommend her for every aspect of a life shared with animals.

This response is disappointing on multiple levels. First, refusing service to a client for leaving a fair review raises serious questions about how feedback is handled at this practice. Second, the lack of direct communication shows poor customer service and unprofessional conflict resolution. I also believes this demonstrates his character over all. If my previous review contained inaccuracies, I would have welcomed a conversation to address them. I would have even removed the review as part as an agreed resolution. Instead, I was dismissed without any attempt at dialogue. This experience has only reinforced my original concerns about the practice's approach to client relationships. On a personal level - look Dr. Mann, you need to humble yourself and although I might not look like it, I'm sure I earn more money than you as an engineer of 15+ years without the doctorate degree and your attitude that comes along with it. For those who are confused this is the same place as Redwood Veterinary Clinic but after hours…read more At 6pm the staff switches over and they become an emergency vet facility and from what I've seen, a completely different vet practice using the same building. We noticed a foxtail sticking out of my dog's butthole and as we were trying to snatch it out it vanished. She had also been having some pretty bad sneezing attacks as well. We called our vet who was booked solid for over a month and then started calling every emergency vet we could find. Most were 24 - 48 hour waits. When we called Redwood Veterinary they explained to us that they become an emergency vet at 6pm and to call back then after they have switched over. We were also told that wait times stack up to 8 hours by 6:30. My wife and I sat in the parking lot and started dialing at the stroke of 6. It was like trying to win one of those radio contests. I got placed on hold while my wife got busy signal after busy signal. However we got in and got seen in half an hour. They not only removed a foxtail from my rottweiler's rectum, but also from her nose as well. We are very grateful that we caught this in time and had our baby taken care of so well.
