We were torn up and planned on going to visit and say goodbye and the. One of us would go sit with her through the end while wearing a mask. They said no. Really? We were allowed to visit outside by our car but then they would take the dog and out her down with no family present. Covid or not, that's heartless. Knowing what we know we could have work a mask. Gloves, goggles, whatever it took. They have a back room we could have entered and exited through the side door to not come into contact with anyone. We took her and went to Riverview Animal hospital. They had no appointments available but stayed late to help us out and kept a back room available. They allowed up to 2 people to be in there with our dog. One of us went in. It's hard enough putting down a loved one, but to abandon them when they are hurting and afraid seems inhumane. Thanks Riverview for having a heart. It worked out better too. We took her to get chicken nuggets and sit in the sun and watch her kid at the park for a while, right next door. A stress free final hour. I've questioned some stuff before during visits but they definitely get 5 stars for compassion in a time of dire need. And we greatly appreciate the personalized card mailed to us.

I have had 2 cats a dog and 2 ferrets that always felt comfortable going to the clinic. My pup absolutely loves the staff and always looks forward to going in for check ups and of course random visits to stop in for a quick hello! When I had my ferrets it was extremely difficult to find a vet that was educated in them as no vets in Essex county really deal with them. But Dr. Cozens was a wonderful help! Even though they do not see ferrets she referred me to a clinic that does! The caring and friendly staff are fantastic and are always so wonderful, especially in the sad times. They comfort you when going through difficult decisions and are well educated and strive to maintain a good quality of life for the animals. They always explain everything to me and educate me in all aspects of my pets life which I love. I went with her to her pups first appointment, I found Dana was very cold and almost demanding in yhe way she spoke. She insisted that she have a stool sample or she wouldn't see the pup a second time. I had been going there 3 yrs and had never had to do this. Remember there was nothing wrong with the pup, it was just its 2nd set of shots appointment. I left the room for 10 min. and the bill went from just over 100 to almost 400. My friend has massive anxiety and felt pressured to say yes to unnecessary treatments and tests.After this she moved her vet to a windsor hospital. My 2nd experience with Dana was when I called to book an appointment for my grand-pup, everything was good, my daughter just had to call and confirm that it was okay. When she called she spoke to Dana who then refused to accommodate. She insisted that she have a personal face to face with her. My daughter just had emergency surgery and lives in lakeshore, hence why I have the pup. I called back because I didn't understand why earlier it was fine but now its not. ( I originally talked to someone else) Dana just talked over me, repeating the same thing over and over again. I have spent thousands of dollars their on my two dogs plus 7 puppies. Long story, short, I will be taking my dogs to another vet, even if I have to bring them to windsor. I'm not down for pushing and a rude person caring for my pets, nor am I down for a money grab. Being accommodating and kind is a good word of mouth way to advertisem but it also works the other way. If I was her employer,I'd think twice about keeping her. Disappointed
