The folks who answer the phone are nice and courteous, Harry is the best deliveryman I have ever met, and the gentleman who cleans the furnace once a year has been courteous, cleans up the basement floor around the furnace nicely and answers any questions I may have. I had requested oil from Dixon in December. My system had been serviced just one month prior and in perfect working order prior to the delivery. They delivered the oil when I was at work. I came home and the heat was no longer working. I call their emergency line and plainly state that this was a result of the oil delivery. They sent an unprofessional and incompetent service technician to my home who arrived after midnight, stayed three hours working inside and out, and then ran out of my house without saying a word to me after 3am. The heat worked for approximately 15 mins. I called the recorded line back and expressed my frustration and the unprofessional conduct of this technician. The next day, the sent out a new technician who was able to identify that the problem was in fact with my oil line. He showed me the line and took pictures of it. This second technician confirmed that what had happened to my oil line was not in fact normal wear and tear and was caused by human manipulation. He also insinuated that the first technician sent to my house would not be working with the company for much longer. They then had to replace the entire fuel line and subsequently billed me for damage their own company caused to my property. When I tried to discuss this with their service manager, I was told that I should, "take better care of my things". They then reported me to a third-party collections company because I refused to pay for something that they had broken. Meanwhile, my heat went out again about a month later because when they fixed the oil line, they did not drop it deep enough. I had to hire another company to adequately repair the line. In addition to all of this, they overcharged me for the oil delivery. This company is straight up criminal, and the proceedings are ongoing from this nightmare. We explained this clearly over the phone and even noted that the burners could be lit manually. When the repairman arrived, he simply confirmed what we had already described, made no attempt to diagnose or repair the problem, and charged $106 for a so-called "diagnostic visit." He then told us the only solution was to replace the entire cooktop for $4,900 -- an absurd suggestion. We later contacted Appliance Care Expert, who quickly and professionally replaced two burners for only $475, and the cooktop now works perfectly. Northeast Appliances provided no real service, only a high-pressure upsell and a pointless fee. Very disappointing experience -- I would never use or recommend them.
