We called Northeast Appliances (Boonton, NJ) on September 23, 2024, because our cooktop's two large…read moreburners had visible ignition sparks but would not ignite. We explained this clearly over the phone and even noted that the burners could be lit manually. When the repairman arrived, he simply confirmed what we had already described, made no attempt to diagnose or repair the problem, and charged $106 for a so-called "diagnostic visit." He then told us the only solution was to replace the entire cooktop for $4,900 -- an absurd suggestion. We later contacted Appliance Care Expert, who quickly and professionally replaced two burners for only $475, and the cooktop now works perfectly. Northeast Appliances provided no real service, only a high-pressure upsell and a pointless fee. Very disappointing experience -- I would never use or recommend them.
