I rarely leave negative reviews, but I think anyone considering the "Day of Heaven" package should…read moreunderstand our experience.
We booked two packages together for my birthday, which was confirmed over the phone, and were told our day would be completed shortly after 4:00 PM. The packages advertised hand and foot treatments, massages, facials, mud wraps, a light lunch, and a small gift.
Upon arrival, we were told our massages had been set up in separate cabanas. When we asked to be together, we spent roughly 10 minutes being discouraged from doing so because everything had already been set up and changing it would be inconvenient. They ultimately accommodated us, but having to advocate that strongly for something we had specifically booked together was an unfortunate start to a birthday spa day.
The massages themselves were excellent, and the mud wraps were genuinely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the organization and hospitality surrounding the treatments were very different.
We were frequently left unattended for long periods. During my mud wrap, I was partially unwrapped and handed my phone--with my hands still covered in product--and reprimanded for not answering calls because staff had been trying to reach us for our lunch orders. Instead of taking the order beforehand or asking us in person, I had to wait for and respond to a text while covered in product. No one returned, so I spent the remainder of the treatment partially unwrapped with my phone beside me. We had also been told to hydrate, yet had to specifically request water with lunch.
Several hours into the day, we were told it was time for our facials and asked which of us would go first. This was the first indication that these treatments would not be performed together. We were confused because our packages had been booked together and, importantly, we had been told we would be finished shortly after 4:00 PM. We had plans afterward based on that confirmed timeframe. Had we been told otherwise in advance, we could have planned accordingly.
At that point, the experience had become more stressful than relaxing. I asked to discontinue the remaining services and receive an appropriate partial refund. We had already not received the advertised hand and foot treatments, and ultimately did not receive the facials either.
I then spoke with the owner, who focused on our expectation that services booked together would be performed together rather than the communication issues. She said she was handling personal matters and would get back to me regarding a refund. I completely understand that personal matters arise and can take priority. However, we never heard from her again. I even returned the following day hoping to resolve the situation.
To be fair, the treatments we actually received--the massages and mud wraps--were very good, and this is not a criticism of the individual practitioners. The issue was the organization, communication, attentiveness, and lack of follow-through.
For two "Day of Heaven" packages booked together for a special birthday experience, I expected the advertised services, the scheduling and timing confirmed to us, and professional follow-through when concerns were raised.
Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I would recommend confirming in writing exactly which services are included, whether appointments booked together will actually be performed together, and the true expected duration before booking.
