I get massages in a regular basis and I will tell you this is probably one of the worst. Not really sure she knew what she was doing. Very haphazard and disorganized, spent over half the time on a 90 minute massage on my back in one area of it. Barely got my arms and legs supposed to include a scalp massage which was never done and reflexology, which was never done. Completely freezing in the room with the door open with cold air coming in. I can't believe this was the place where I was gonna spend money. But the phone call I had when I tried to book a reservation, was the reason I didn't. I experienced a bad receptionist which she said was the owner as well. I had left a voicemail prior to make a reservation because they weren't answering their calls. So when someone did call back everything was set and I was able to get a discount since I was gonna do it on my birthday. (They didn't do birthday discount anymore but the person the phone said I was able to get it) I thought everything was okay until I received another call 5 minutes later talking about making the reservation. She instantly told me that I was not able to receive the discount and asked her why. She was instantly rude on why I asked and continued with the conversation with making the reservation. Next step was to tell my name which I had done, After I had told her my name, she got very annoyed and wouldn't let me talk. It felt like I was being judged by my name and accent. It was very difficult for me to get decent customer service especially that it was the owner who I was talking to. Found this place the night before and called in the morning to schedule an appointment. It was very fast and easy which is everyone's dream when on vacation. Being dropped off in the towns rotunda the walk to the location was a little confusing since it's hidden inside the outdoor shops area. Once there, I was helped by the person at the front and signed some papers to get a better understanding of who and why I was there. Make sure you use the restroom before the massage too, they're located to the left of the massage area. In the room they'll instruct you to strip down and get under the blanket. What was really nice about my experience was my masseuse asked me if I had any thing I wanted to inform them about and I let them know about my sprain ankle. She made sure to go slow and steady in addition to not adding too much pressure. Really liked the arm and head massage what was really nice was once she got to my spine, she was able to make it all crack in the good type of way. After being massaged on my back for awhile she flipped me over and I also got to see a face, what was really reassuring was she was wearing a mask durring my session. Shows that they really care about their customer's safety along with their health. They also use warm towels to relax the body even further and it helped reduce the oily feeling as well. This place was very cute and fairly easy to find. A friend and I came to Catalina Island from LA to relax for a day trip. We were debating on this spa and Island Spa. We chose A Touch of Heaven because it had great reviews and basically half the price of Island Spa. This spa is located under a hotel and within a little market of local stores, cafes, and more spas. I booked the Revitalize massage and my friend did the Vitamin C facial. For my massage, i noticed a couple things. For one, my massage consisted of my hands, feet, and scalp. I noticed there was no sink in the room. I could be wrong but my masseuse did not wash their hands in between body parts. She started at my feet, went to my hands, and then to my scalp. That being said, I just felt super icky about how she massaged my feet first and then touched my scalp (as i have an extremely problematic scalp). The other thing is that I'm pretty sure on the website and brochure, it stated that this massage included a scrub treatment on your feet AND hands. My lady only put the scrub on my feet so I don't really know what happened to the scrub for my hands but honestly I didn't really mind as long as the massage was good. The massage itself was okay. I recommend taking off your shirt if you order this massage because my lady massaged my neck and shoulders as well when she reached the scalp portion of the massage. I wished she was a bit more firm when massaging my feet but that could also be my fault for not speaking up. Another thing is that the massage on my scalp felt more like a scratching massage. The peppermint oil felt really good on my dry scalp and I liked that my lady made sure she didn't tangle or mess around my hair too much. I just wished the scalp massage was more like a massage though. Overall the Revitalize massage gets a 3/5 rating. My friend on the other hand got the Vitamin C facial. A few good things is that her lady offered to charge us only for the Acne facial because my friend asked to customize the Vitamin C facial. I believe the Vitamin C facial was $130 and the Acne facial was $95 so we saved $35! However my friend said the facial was nothing better than a face mask you can do at home. I'm not sure if the facial comes with a massage but my friend received a shoulder and neck massage and just wished her lady was also a bit more firm with the massage. The facial did not last more than 20-30 minutes even though on the website and brochure says 60 minutes so keep that in mind. Overall, my friend said the facials itself were not very worth it and we rate it a 2/5. My last thing to recommend is that this spa is fairly open to the general public. That in mind, the chair to put your personal belongings is right next to the door that leads to the outside. My friend and I, being visitors of this island, were kind of scared that our belongings would be snatched when our eyes were closed. I would be more scared if either of us were face down but luckily we were both face up and occasionally could check on our backpacks. I'm rating this place a 3/5 because the ladies were very nice and the place was pretty clean. read more

They booked me right away even though it was literally last minute (as in, "I can be there in 10 min"). My masseuse (Sabre) was very knowledgeable -- I was very impressed! I pointed out where things hurt and how I'd been managing on the trail, and she was able to spot the root problems, the ways my body had been compensating for those problems, and just work out the kinks and knots in my muscles. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I didn't expect it to be outside at the top of the stores in the plaza inside a cabana looking tent. You do have 85% privacy but because it's hot, they do have a fan that blocks that side to close all the way down so you can see down at the people in the court yard. The massage itself was GREAT! When I tell you, I asked for a deep tissue massage,... I GOT A DEEP TISSUE massage. The massage therapist I got I think her name is Rosa, don't quote me but she was fantastic! She got all the tight spots & made me feel super relaxed. Made sure the pressure was what I wanted. The customer service was great. The location is a little hidden but not difficult to find. You can either go through the outside in the courtyard all the way to the back. Passing the souvenir shops on the left hand side or you can go through the front side of The Metropole Hotel.
