Long story short, after first one night we had to leave! I showed up at Venessa's desk telling her the story and in no time (hotel close to fully booked-summer break!), She found us a 2 queen room, got us an early complimentary check in (we've stayed at Metropole numberous time), but offered us a champagne in the room. What a hospitality! We did not expect this type of compation and problem solving, a true representative of Hotel Metropole. Now the pros: Location is amazing, navigation around the hotel or around it is perfect, close to everything, especially the breakfast shop on presmises and of course customer service. The room was exceptionally clean, I saw the service ladies actually mopping the floors after vacancy of other rooms. cons: second floor rooms overlooking the courtyard, get loud because of the shops. If you want to sleep in passed 9am, it's not happening. For some reason, shop people like to roll their garbage out either 6am or 11pm...at least when we stayed there which was June 9-12, 2026.

The room was large with a comfortable bed, mini-refrigerator, and table. The dressing area was outside the bathroom and spacious. The provided breakfast consisted of parties, bread, jams, cereals, and oatmeal, as well as coffee and tea. It was sufficient for us. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room rate was higher than we usually spend, but we were celebrating my daughter's birthday, so we splurged. They provided a bottle of champagne to wish her happy birthday.

My body healed around the damaged tissue and stress in my muscles and it took this long for any real pain (beyond the fall) to appear. When I met Saber I wasn't looking for massage therapy. I've worked with a chiropractor a few months ago but I can feel my body wanting to go back to the "injured" state it was in the for the last year and a half. I actually didn't know massage could be therapeutic beyond relaxing and working into tight muscles. I met her through a group of friends and she insisted to let her work on me because she could see how much pain I was in. Saber becomes one with me and my body and I swear my body tells her exactly what she needs to do in our session. Not gonna lie, it's painful. But what in life isn't painful and worth it. Especially when you're already in pain from an injury or sitting at your desk or how physical your job is. She's done work on me I would have never thought a massage THERAPIST could do. It's honestly therapy. I'm looking forward to our next appointment together as a relaxer, since the last few times have been intense ‍ but I'm also ready to heal and I know this is part of the journey. I came in with my girlfriend for her to get a piercing on her birthday, today. August 9, 2025. The…read moreservice itself was good from a boyfriend standing in the room just there being supportive point of view. I felt it was professional and clean and she answered the questions asked and didn't rush. I stood in the same spot the entire time. never moved. Just watched. The shop is small. There is no space for moving or seating for bystanders. And that was understandable as piercings are typically quick. Unfortunately, the positive experience I was having was completely overshadowed by what happened after the piercing. Shortly after my girlfriend's piercing, the owner or piercer or hairstylist Monica (sorry I didn't inquire her professional title) accused us of stealing money. Exact words she used were "Did you guys steal my money!?" *We are both Black* and it was immediately clear to me that this was racial profiling. I laughed assuming she was joking and said "oh you have to be joking?". *Though it would have been a really inappropriate joke*. But she was serious. She then stated again that her previous client left money for her that was "gone". at this time the money she is questioning me over is visible to myself still standing in the same spot. the entire time still 10 feet away. I could literally see the money as we were being accused by her of stealing it. To think she wouldn't even look for it before doubling down and randomly accusing us or me who had been standing in the same exact spot for 15 minutes in her constant view was very offensive, alarming, and telling. So I pointed to it as if it was any of my business or as if it was my obligation to prove any type of innocence in her completely unwarranted accusation. Monica admitted she felt embarrassed. I stated "AWKWARD". The room fell silent. We paid and left. but the harm was already done. As a Black man, being falsely accused of theft is deeply humiliating and upsetting, and I know my girlfriend felt the same on her birthday. The feeling sits with you. This situation spoke volumes about her assumptions and disregard for how her words and how her actions would impact us. The piercing work was fine, but the lack of respect, the rush to judgment, and the racial bias make it impossible for me to recommend this business. Your experience may not be my experience your skin may not be my own. but this moment will live with me forever. So I felt at best I could be empowered by sharing my truth. And letting it go.
