Despite the reviews I visited. I needed a location with full service to take advantage of their power washing. On the first pass they missed my requests but then the staff took care of me when I pointed it out. The manager, Marlin, heard my complaint and took it through the wash again without charging me extra. The service advisor Jason was also accommodating in helping me take care of a pesky marker on my window. All in all, I felt like I was taken care of, the Platinum full service wash was good, and I'll be returning when I need the help of some heavier equipment. Island Car Wash is very slow in my opinion and also packed to death. Every time I come here, there are many people like it is so frustrating. There are many packages and I usually pick the silver or gold package without Armorall because I heard that it can crack and break your tires. Anyways, the owner of this place makes sure your car is speck and steak free when it comes out of the car wash. The boys give your car extra attention by wiping the windows and car interior down after the car wash so that's why it takes forever in this car wash to get the car ready and shine. I always see the owner making sure his team gets the job done correctly. As you wait for your car, there's a waiting area in the tent. read more

Terrible car was! I got the basic so was expecting a spit shine..... but as vacuuming was included I did expect that. I go to get in and notice that the inside door was dirty and was going to move on. But then I noticed they never moved the rugs. They only vacuumed on top. Called the guy back over. He revacuums..... around it. Again I say what about under. This is when I noticed that the top of my car, whole trunk and under every door handle were still VERY dirty. The manger comes over and tells me it's my fault bc I don't ever get my car washed. (Pulls receipt from 6/14 from different place up). No sir. I'm pretty sure your team simply didn't wash my car. While I was driving here, I saw only one vehicle at a nearby competitor, the Centerreach Car Wash. Staff at Island Car Wash wash vehicles inside and out. I got the $37 Silver Full Service package. That includes wax applied while driving through the tunnel, according to Elizabeth the informative and friendly cashier. There is a points program, where customers earn a point per dollar spent. 400 points entitles participants to the highest free full service package, which is the $47 Platinum Package. Platinum is the only package that cleans mats, shines tires and applies air fresheners. Vehicle owners are permitted to use a portion of accumulated points to get a discount. Elizabeth told me that now that I have 150 points, I can get $12 off my next wash. Patrons can sign up for a $19 monthly pass for an exterior wash only. There are "Early Bird" and "Night Owl" packages that range from "$7 to "$10", depending on whether you get an "Exterior", "Wax Package", or "Wash, Wax, Wheel Package". Debit card users may withdraw money cash from the Point of Sale terminal at the time of payment. Many times, I do have to get behind the workers who miss spots. For example, right now as I leave the wash, I see the same stain on my dashboard that was there before the wash. My NAV screen still has my fingerprints on it. Part of my steering wheel looks like no cloth ever touched it. I have to drive back to have the staff clean the missed spots, which I could remove them myself, but I paid too much Gosh Darn money to do so. Tip: If you are a regular here like I am, write down the names of the staff who are notoriously thorough, and make sure you ask for them to clean your vehicle. Because I must habitually get behind some staff to clean missed spots, I am giving Island Car Wash two stars. Note: When I went back, I complained to Elizabeth, who then walked on over to Sal the manager. After I showed Sal all the dirty spots, he reluctantly directed a worker to clean only the missed spots that I showed him. He explained that his staff cannot possibly get every dirty spot. I do have some scratches on the driver's door. I wonder if it came from this car wash. I did not take photos of the door before I entered the wash, so I cannot prove that they did it. So there I am not sure if I want to return here. I am looking elsewhere. Perhaps I should in the meantime put on my Mom's jeans and clean my Hyundai Kona in my own driveway my darn self! They're good, not the best they could be, but good. Better than most. The people who hand dry after the machine blowers could replace the towels more often and the Armor All on the tires could be applied with more care. Tape should be used on cars/ SUVs which have rear wipers because the rolling brush during the wash can and does damage them. As is the case with these types of services if you want it to be done right you have to do it yourself. I always tip the hand dryiers a couple of bucks, I appreciate their effort nonetheless. read more

I paid for services in the GOLD package, left with my tires still filthy...my dash wasn't even wiped down I had to go home and wipe down my windows and dash along with the seats of my car BY MYSELF and then look in the backseat and it looks as though it was never vacuumed. the level of time and care they have with your care is little to none. not to mention the first time I went through the exterior wash they forgot the soap and I had to go back through. I'll admit that my car doesn't get the TLC she deserves. Mechanically I'm pretty by the book but I don't' keep up on the cosmetic stuff very well. by the time I arrived at Island Car Wash, it had probably been a year since she had seen an organized professional cleaning. You know I was on the road a bunch in Early 2020 and then the world shut down and before you know it we were knee deep in 2021. I know; excuses , excuses. I arrived hear after having an unsatisfactory exchange with the more local car wash where i was informed that my car was "too dirty" to be washed and had to book an individual detailing session. Needless to say that went over like a lead balloon and I shut down the line to back out and take my business elsewhere. Island car wash didn't blink, hesitate or bat an eye at the car's condition. And what's more it's not like they wound up spending extra time on my car compared to the others that were immediately before or after me. We all left in pretty much First-in-First-out order, notwithstanding the exterior washed only. Because they have more space then the "carwash that shall not be named" the interior cleanout area is more organized and cars move in and out in much more structured way. You see the team mates finishing up your interior and glass, scurrying about and finally a horn toots, and a hand goes up signaling you are good to go. While they are a bit farther away for me to travel for a good washing, since i already admitted I don't do it every week (or month) the extra distance seems like a small inconvenience comparatively. Not only did they leave dirt on the back of my truck and around the wheels they used a dirty rag to clean the windows, leaving a smelly dirty film across my windshield that I cannot remove now. Island Car Wash has great Services. I had come once In January and again, we need a redo of this place. It just didn't cross their mind like "Here is another customer" They went above and beyond expectations. Island Staff is nice and kind. Their prices are good and I would come back time and time again if my local wash is busy. The System is good and honestly the Towel drying is good after the car exits the tunnel. I paid $60 for the top car wash when they said my car was done I went over and all my mats were thrown in the car not put in it's still needed to be vacuum there was old dirt there was yogurt on the side of my floor from my children still and there was coffee stain spilled in the cupholders when I asked the girl if she can put the mats back she didn't know how so she called the manager who got very very annoyed and told me that something was wrong with my car to go to the dealer and it's not their job to put the mats back in so I said please do the job correctly I just spent $60 there's nothing wrong with my car. The worst experience I ever had. I will never go there again!!! PLEASE READ BELOW FOR DETAILS. I just got my car washed here today. After I left I noticed large long major scratch going across a roof of my car not mentioning few others on the back of my hatchback door. I'm not sure what caused them, either brushes or towels that cleaning crew was using - which I think this would be most likely the case. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures before my car went inside, therefore I couldn't prove it that this happened at this car wash while talking to management upon my return with the complain. All I know that scratches were not present on my car before the wash. I'm pretty particular about my car as most of the time I clean it myself. This time I trusted wrong car wash that didn't serve me well. All I can recommend to everyone is to take pictures before your car goes inside, which would apply especially to this specific car wash location. In my case this particular business did damage to my car, which I have to deal with now. Overall, those scratches made my experience the worst I ever had and I hope buffing will fix damage. I will never come back to this place and I hope management will take to consideration inspecting their machines and changing towels frequently otherwise it will drive their business to lose customer. On the other note I was told by manager that he doesn't care about the reviews on internet!!!, which is not right statement to say as a management representative -total luck of professionalism. I use to bring my car here and had good service. Brought my car here today- did not expect it to look brand new,however, they should be embarrassed to call the car "clean." Paid for the top wash with a $15 add on for the armorall. The pictures I took say it all. The outside had spots all over it. I was told we were unreasonable and I was looking for a detail job. I was not- I just wanted to car properly vacuumed and cleaned. There was mints still in between the seat and center console once I push my seat back. Half-ass job says it all. I never post bad comments- however the manager on, marven was so rude and inconsiderate.
